The Treetop Playground is a standout feature. It's thoughtfully designed, modern, and great for a wide range of ages, with lots of interesting structures that keep kids engaged while still feeling safe and well laid out. It's clear a lot of care went into making it both fun and accessible. Another big plus is the abundance of benches throughout the park. There are plenty of spots to sit, relax, and enjoy the scenery, whether you're watching kids play, taking a break from a walk, or just soaking in the surroundings. Clean, welcoming, and consistently beautiful. Whether you're a local or visiting Clayton, Shaw Park is a great place to visit.

There are two slides in the splash pad area which is a beautiful feature that not many places offer. They do have a staff member at the top of one slide making sure the kids are safe going down. The splash pad area had some great shaded areas, but I do wish there was more. They have a dump bucket and some small little water fall type things. All areas except for the slides are handicap accessible. The playground itself is always a great time. My kids tend to be daredevils so they love the rope area.

We wanted to get a 4 year old some lessons to advance his bike skills and there are not a lot of options near South City. Other options are St Charles, St Peters and Wildwood. I emailed what is listed on the site. The response was to come on a Sunday morning and sign up for lessons then. By the way, you have to carry your bike (and likely your kid's bike) up 2 flights of stairs. Sunday morning: Mother's Day multiple people are waiting outside and the door is locked. Ramp Riders posted on Instagram (not the door!) right before the start time that they were closed on Mother's Day. For those without social media, Sorrrrrrry! The next time we go, no one arrived to open the place until 20 minutes after they were supposed to be open. It's 90 degrees, no AC and the woman is wearing a winter beenie hat. Again, I ask to sign up for lessons after the session. I would have paid whatever the rate was. She says to email the address on the website -face palm-. An infinite loop. Why are all three downtown post offices closed in the middle of the day for no reason? Why are all the court forms on the website outdated? Why is there poop on the neighborhood playground equipment and men bathing in the splash fountain? Why is City Hall so slow, rude and difficult? Why do wrecked cars sit on the side of the road for months? I try so, so hard to love it, endure it, embrace it. But goddam. It's also hard to get a bike lesson. So, we drive to St Charles for Wheels Up. They are responsive, friendly and helpful. It should not be SO DIFFICULT.

It's 10 miles long and stretches from Orlando's in south county to I-44 in Kirkwood. I ran a half marathon a couple of years ago, and did a lot of my training runs here. Here's what I really liked about it: - the miles are marked; made it super simple to keep track of where I was - very little hills, great for endurance training! - scenery was amazing, I was training in the fall time. My favorite spot was the Gravois Road to Pardee Road. You get to see Grants Farm and the Clydesdales. It was beautiful with the changing leaves. - I felt super safe. - if you go early-ish in the morning, it isn't packed. - they've got a great layout of the trail online, section by section.
