It's a smallish shop, but they have a lot of inventory, including larger sizes. (A bane of most brides' existence, especially if you're over a street size 14.) Although the purchasing and several options were great, the overall experience was NOT appropriate. The owner managed to make inappropriate body comments for not only the bridal party but also the bride. What the heck? In what world is it okay to make comments about a stranger let alone your most important money maker - THE BRIDE. Getting ahold of the owner/having calls answered and returned was stressful and a hassle. We are in Small town PA, not LA or NY you can answer the damn phone, there isn't a line waiting to get in. Alterations that are almost always needed and should not be shouted throughout the store. This group had average size girls and petite girls. No matter what end over or underweight comments are not welcomed. The owners side stories talking down about her other brides/clients were also inappropriate. Talking about how the bride doesn't want to come for her fitting because she doesn't think the girl lost the weight she wanted to. My guess is the bride is trying to find a backup seamstress to get this lady off her back. The dresses looked great at the wedding however you can get great dresses everywhere, but you can't get great customer service everywhere and I can guarantee none of us will be returning. We also have advised other potential brides away from this location. Every body type, age, color is beautiful. Find somewhere who will appreciate your uniqueness and make what is one of the most exciting pieces of planning your wedding day just that - EXCITING!

Her shop is so quaint and cozy. It isn't huge but that is what makes the experiance so special. I was the last appointment of the day, so it was just myself, parents, and Shannon. She spent time pulling dresses before I arrived based on what I sent her in an email. While trying on the dresses she listened to everything I liked and didn't like about each dress and ended up selecting the "one" based on that. It was the final dress I tried on and I knew it was it. She showed different ways I could change it by adding straps, ect, but the dress was perfect as is! She has alterations in house as well and my alteration appointment was also great. The same lady that came into the dressing room and rushed us was so nice to the girl that came in right next to me with her mom. I thought she was very disrespectful trying to rush us, considering we were going to buy before she had an attitude. I have heard nothing but horror stories about this place. I heard from multiple I know they have…read moregotten their dresses weeks some days before they needed it. Most recently my close friend got her dress for her daughters wedding under 3 weeks before the wedding already needing alterations as the dress was coming in a little big for her as she is petite. The dress was ordered in February was supposed arrive in May got here in July. When her dress finally arrived after MONTHS of anxiously waiting it came in a size 8. They apologized and offered to do the alternations however we have already heard of a list of problems coming from alterations worst being burn marks to an overseas gown. Thankfully she got alterations else where she was not offered any money off the dress and was told she already saved $100 because the store spent it to get her size (that she didn't even receive). She looked beautiful in the dress after alterations but after the experience it was hard to love her dress she spent a good fortune on. Moral of the story order your dress a year in advance or maybe look else where I hope that the store owner can learn from these experiences and do better.

As I had already been to many bridal shops I knew exactly what dress I was looking for and called Beverly to see if she had the dress available to try on. To my surprise (I had called several shops within the State College radius) she had just received the dress in from the designer and made an appointment with me. My family and friends lived across the country from me so when I arrived to Beverly's shop it was just me. Beverly graciously helped me try on the gown, gave me an honest opinion and made me feel like family. In addition, Beverly saved me and my friend quite a bit of money. I was worried about the cost of shipping the dress home for the wedding so I called a bridal location (Charlottes Weddings & More) closer to home where I had previously tried gowns on. I explained the situation to an associate and let them know of the gown and size I wanted. They quoted me $250 more for the gown than Beverly had quoted me. I recommended Beverly's Touch of Class to a friend as she had a similar situation in which she knew her dress and size desired. Beverly also gave her a price that was less than the price quoted by Diamonds & Lace in State College where she tried the gown on. If you're looking for a low key and causal experience to try on dresses, Beverly's Touch of Class is worth the drive. Give back to small businesses like Beverly when you can, the experience will be a wonderful memory.
