I accompanied my mom for her first appointment regarding Parkinsonism. She just moved here from…read moreanother state and needed to get established with a local neurologist. Dr. Calas was recommended to her by her primary care NP. After waiting a month to be seen and then waiting an hour after our arrival to be seen by the doctor, I have to say it was well worth the wait. Dr. Calas introduced himself, mentioning that he has been a neurologist for 30 years. As we proceeded through the appointment, his vast experience and expertise became quite apparent. He began by carefully reviewing my mom's history and asking many important questions. To gain a clearer understanding of her condition, he had her perform a variety of simple tasks. All the while, I was impressed at how he showed her the utmost respect. We appreciated that Dr.Calas took the time to explain her condition in a way that we could really understand. None of her previous neurologists had ever taken the time to be so clear, nor were they as capable in diagnosis. Before we scheduled our next appointment, he adjusted her medications, ordered bloodwork and an MRI. I can honestly say to anyone who is reading this and looking for a good neurologist, you will receive excellent care with Dr. Calas.

Prior to the completion of the testing we tried to schedule our next appointment. It seems this could not be done without the testing being completed. The rationale was poorly explained. At the completion of the testing we were only able to make an appointment with his Medical Assistant. At that time we also made an appointment with him for a month after the MA visit. The MA visit was well done and we expected to see Dr. Robinson to get further advice. Only by visiting the office without an appointment did we find out that we were being passed off to another doctor. The pass off was never communicated and poorly explained. We were never to see Dr Robinson him again and thus felt abandoned. He and his office staff should be ashamed of our treatment. There has been no apology and no further communication has been forthcoming. It has been the worst medical experience of our lives. Be very wary of this doctor and his office. You may not get the care or treatment you expect and deserve.

The adjuster didn't want to send me to my original doctor even though he was in the system. She referred me to Dr. Kam. After reading the reviews on Yelp! I feared the worst. Boy, was I wrong! His office was very friendly and professional. Had me in for x-rays before I could finish my paperwork. After that I was escorted to an examination room where the PA saw me immediately. Next Dr. Kam came in and he was very pleasant and professional. Asked why I didn't see my original doctor and I told him the adjuster felt he was "crazy expensive." He just shook his head. Read the X-rays, examined my shoulder, and complemented the original doctor for doing a nice job. He reassured me that I had just strained a muscle. I was on my way and felt relieved! Follow up in a month to make sure I'm healing properly. So, the Doctor was great, the staff was very pleasant and the only negative thing I have to say about my experience was that the parking lot is a nightmare. And I'm very selective about who I let treat me! Five stars!

After losing 22 lb. and not improving my cholesterol enough, his recommendation was "diet and exercise", so I stopped going to his practice. I went back recently and told him that I was taking over the counter capsules for cholesterol, and he told me that those don't work and that I should be taking statins. I told him that I needed a prescription for statins, not for OTC. During the visit this doctor recommended another visit (in just 2 months) for a series of tests called "Welcome to Medicare". The icing on the cake is that I was billed twice; as a "new patient" for the first visit, and today I received a statement for my "Welcome to Medicare" visit that I didn't need. My cholesterol was high again in the lab results after the visits and I had to call his office twice to ask for a prescription. He did not prescribed me the statins without pressure.
