I've left many voicemails, talked to billing and the office manager (when it doesn't go to voicemail or I don't get hung up on) and they both have promised leaving messages for the doctor and returned calls. Which NONE have happened. My insurance company has been super helpful. They are trying to get in touch with the doctor as well to get it straightened out and they're getting ghosted as well. SO, if you want a stress free experience, this will not be it. ZERO support and accountability when needed.

After losing 22 lb. and not improving my cholesterol enough, his recommendation was "diet and exercise", so I stopped going to his practice. I went back recently and told him that I was taking over the counter capsules for cholesterol, and he told me that those don't work and that I should be taking statins. I told him that I needed a prescription for statins, not for OTC. During the visit this doctor recommended another visit (in just 2 months) for a series of tests called "Welcome to Medicare". The icing on the cake is that I was billed twice; as a "new patient" for the first visit, and today I received a statement for my "Welcome to Medicare" visit that I didn't need. My cholesterol was high again in the lab results after the visits and I had to call his office twice to ask for a prescription. He did not prescribed me the statins without pressure.

It should also be noted that her clinic does not accept insurance so the initial consult is $200 that you have to pay prior to the virtual appointment. Our original consultation went really well. I discussed what was going on with me personally, and she seemed very receptive. She ended our appointment with an at home assignment for me to complete so she would be able to correctly diagnose and treat me appropriately. I emailed the assignment back within the following day or two and contacted the front desk via text (which is the only way to communicate with them) to confirm they received it. Dr. Rankin also requested that I get a EKG. I am currently in dental school so it's difficult for me to make appointments. I was finally able to complete that about two weeks after our appointment and again confirmed with the front desk that they have received it. One week goes by- no response. So I politely check in to see if there was any feedback with my diagnosis. She states that she will get back to me shortly. Another week goes by- no response back. I text back again to let them know i still have not heard anything. NO RESPONSE. I text again the following day- NO RESPONSE. I never heard from them again. So I spent $200 on a consult with Dr. Rankin and then followed her request for an EKG which was another $200 and never heard from Dr. Rankin or her office again. I tried to make another appointment online to speak with Dr. Rankin directly and they denied my request for an appointment. I'm not completely sure what went wrong or why she decided to ignore me after seeking her help. I was never rude or pushy. I honestly was at a loss for words on how I was treated. She made me feel like I wasn't worth her time and she didn't want to help me. Anyway- point being- if you want actual medical advice and treatment this is NOT the place. There are a lot of other great holistic and general practitioners in the area that communicate well and have your best interest at heart. Just look a little further than Dr. Rankin, do your research, and you'll end up right where you belong without wasting $200 on a useless appointment.

Somehow all of the people at Day Medical have avoided any of the jaded attitude you see all too often in health care. They made Mom feel special. While Mom would fuss with me about going to her cardiac doctor, or her eye Doctor, she would ask almost every week if it was time to go see Doctor Katie again. She also loved the nurse we knew as "Kentucky Girl". My Mom passed away very early this past Monday morning at age 102. Long and short of it. I had to establish care with a primary who was very judgmental and MADE me do labs that had just been done 2 weeks prior. Referred me to a pain specialist who took 3 weeks! to get back to me and said I don't prescribe meds for some off the wall reason that had absolutely nothing to do with my disability!! Incompetent.
