Towel found in the room behind the bathroom door

This was found behind the door of the bathroom the pile of paper towels were used to wipe down the room after check in and this is the remote with dog hair all over it if we hadn't been driving so long we would have left but because we travel with our own cleaning supplies we stayed but this is ridiculously nasty yes we have our own sheets to cover their sheets on the beds this was the 2nd room the 1st room smelled like dog pee for the cost of these rooms they really need to do a better at cleaning their rooms I must say that the person on the desk was nice about placing us in the 2nd room in which was nasty

Not bad at all, especially if all you are needing is a quick last evening check-in and early…read moremorning checkout which was the case for us. We were on our Route 66 Chicago to Santa Monica journey and just needed a clean, odor free, relatively updated motel which this Hampton Inn satisfied. Hampton Inns are often a hit-or-miss dependent upon the particular franchisee's practices for the particular site you are pulling up to. With our reasonable and low expectations, this Hampton Inn hit the mark.

They did warn when sending a reminder email about the reservation that the hotel is undergoing renovations and there might be some evidence of that while staying, we were concerned but stuck with the reservation. Besides the note on check in, I did not see any reno being done, but man does this location need it. It seems like it is 20 years outdated and worn out! The king room we staying in was tight except for the very old bathroom that was huge if not very in need of updates and fixes. We also thought the noise in the hotel was a bit more than anywhere else we stayed. We definitely heard a dog, motorcycles from the property outside we could see (private residence) and voices. If they are really doing a reno, this will all be fixed I am sure, but right now it isn't great. It is a hotel off Route 66, a road more dotted with motels than nicer hotels, so maybe it just is what it is for where it is. However, it was place to lay our heads for the night, nothing made me want to stay.
