You can find this friendly place in the small town of Laotto! The atmosphere is casual with wooden booths and tables. There is also a small bar rail with additional seating. The staff welcomed us with a smile and were very attentive. I stopped in on a Sunday for brunch, which they have once a month. The menu was small, which I can appreciate. They also offered a beer bloody mary, beermosa and a regular mimosa. I ordered a beermosa and the waitress suggested pairing it with an IPA. This was the perfect combo IMO. Then for food i ordered the poutine. Sadly I was very underwhelmed with my choice. The meat was tough and it just needed something else. When my wife and I arrived it was quickly made obvious that since we were not regulars we were annoying the staff. Out in the middle of "nowhere" in little Laotto there is a brewery. We were there around 1pm on a saturday and it was about half full, but we heard it fills up pretty quickly. Seating is limited to one half of the building right now, but they're working on another part to increase the seating. We got the full flight of all the beers (standard flight is 4 beers, plus additional beers for $1 each) Their pale & black IPA were pretty good. I wasn't a fan of their Ege IPA, but i'm usually not a fan of session IPAs because i like a little bit of a malt backbone to balance the hops. But make sure to try it (or all of them) because I don't like green peppers in food but lots of people love them. The brown and the stout were solid beers. The brown is a soured ale, so make sure you know that before sipping or it might catch you off guard. The only one I didn't get to try was the porter, but they had more ready to go for the next day. So since it was out and they brewed more, I can only assume it's good. But I'll have to go back to make sure.....and to drink some more of their beers. Oh, and they have free popcorn. just ask! Be warned, it is a seasoned popcorn with a little spicy kick. If you eat spicy food, you'll be fine but if you're spice sensitive, try out a little bit of it first. read more

Smaller, quieter, and less busy than most of the breweries I've been to and sometimes that's a nice change. The black ipa, double ipa, and imperial amber where all very solid. True to style, and very well done. The food, while limited, was quite good as well. They get all their meats from Laotto meats ( about 200 yards away), and my wifes cajun chicken salad sandwich, and my burger were both delicious. Worthwhile. read more

We have been here twice in the last few weeks. Once for beer only and once for dinner. Both experiences were great. The beer selection was great. I chose to get beer flights at both visits. My favorite beer is the white stout. My husband loves the Amber. For dinner we had pork tacos, chips with Black Eyed Pea salsa, and the Squealin Pig Pie puzza ( it was spicy and had siracha and pulled pork on it). The food was tasty and very reasonably priced. Stopped by Friday after work with some friends. They had a pineapple cider as one of their guest taps and I'm a sucker for pineapple ciders so naturally I had to order it. They only had the tables near the bar open for seating when we came in, but opened up the other room by the time we left. The servers were very friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed, just what we needed to unwind after a busy week. We ordered some appetizers to share at our table including the cheese and pretzels and the nachos. I was a little disappointed in the pretzels because the bottoms were burnt on all of our pretzels (3 separate orders). The nachos were good but not layered well. All the ingredients were on the top layer so when you got to the second layer it was just chips. I was thankful I had cheese left over from my pretzels to dip the tortilla chips in. Went here for a date night and the place is in a good location with plenty of parking once inside there are a few chairs to sit at for the bar rail, other than that it is mostly tables wth those just being a few. There was another room but it was closed off. Not sure if it was closed due to it being not so busy or if they don't utilize it but it's there so we have to decorate and put furniture in it. The bartender was nice and knowledgeable about the beer they had on tap. She gave us a menu with descriptions and what was included In The beer flight. It also showed what ounces they came in. The beer Imo, was ok. They offered a sour beer which was to sour for me! Over all the small town brewery was a good. If Bf for local flair. I'm not sure I'd go back soon but I would go back. Fun place. The beer is decent, and the food is pretty good. It's nothing over the top, but a nice place to hang out if you're from Laotto, Garrett, Churubusco, or Huntertown. The restuarant/bar (21 and older only!) is an old bank connected to adjacent store. Everybody loved the pretzel breadsticks and beer cheese. I ordered a sandwich that came with chips and a choice of 1 side (mac, baked beans, or coleslaw). Everyone else opted for the flatbread pizzas. The prices are reasonable. They have beer flights, so you can try 4 types for $7. I'm more of a wine guy, so nothing really stood out. They did have one called the Hammond's ale that was slightly sweet and smooth. There's a stack of board games, and a few pinball machines. It's the cool little bar you wish every small town had. Also, it's a hop and skip away from Country Heritage Winery and just across the street from the Sit n' Bull Pub (though I have to admit, that's a slightly different bar scene). read more

I was in the area visiting family and was looking for a good place to meet them. I was very surprised that Laotto had a brewery, but the beers sounded good on the website and I love to check out little microbreweries. Since none of us had tried it we decided to meet here and check it out. I wish this place was closer to me because it honestly blew me away. The beer was utterly fantastic and the food I tried was pretty good as well. I really, really liked most of the beers. The Napoleon Complex Saison is one of the best beers I have ever had. It was very smooth, lightly sweet, and perfect for a hot summer day. My other favorite was the Deer Funeral Brown, which was a sour brown ale. Sours are very hit or miss to me, but it was lightly sour, a little grape-y, and had a slightly sweet and smooth finish. If you like coffee and beer but want something lighter, the Old Crown White Stout was great as well, with some great stout and coffee flavors with all of the convenience of a lighter beer. The Postmaster's Pale was well-beloved by my siblings who prefer more traditional American beer. Overall, the quality of the beer was high and reasonably priced for an independent microbrewery. As for the food, we had eaten before we came so I decided to try a cup of soup and one of their desserts. It was a Thai coconut curry soup and "beeramisu" (like tiramisu with their coffee-flavored beer instead of the espresso), and both were pretty tasty. Food prices seemed reasonable for a brewpub, especially considering the quality. Service was fantastic and delightfully friendly. I appreciate that the space is a converted old building and it's pretty nice, although I imagine on crowded nights seating might be as issue. I cannot say enough great things about this brewery. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town. For those of you living in Fort Wayne, it's only about 15-20 minutes to drive here from the north side of town, so I highly recommend checking it out. read more
