The staff who I've encountered have been pleasant and super helpful. They even reached out to my old doctor and hospital in Washington state to get all of my records as this facility does not use epic (mychart). I saw Dr. Cassidy today and she was absolutely fantastic. She took the time to get to know me and listened to any and all concerns I had. She has a great bedside manner and thoroughly explained what she was doing. While no one really likes the annual exam process, she made me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend Dr. Cassidy and the team at Virginia Women's center.

The lack of care is extremely disappointing. I had a procedure in this office; again, I went here because they were listed as in my network. To my surprise, this office uses a different lab and sent it to a separate Doctor to review my results. Now this Doctor who I have not seen and did not know about was not in-network with my insurance. Now I have received a $530 bill in the middle of a pandemic and no explanation as to why it was sent to someone my insurance didn't cover. The receptionist handled my phone call poorly, told me I needed to speak to billing. I asked her why I would talk to them when it was their office that failed. She then placed me on hold without telling me, which I was stuck on for 15 minutes, just to be told, "Well, did you ask what lab they were sending it to?" I am a new patient, and I assumed that this was taken care of in their office, with their lab with the Doctor that I had been seeing. If they had cared, they would have taken a better look at my insurance and sent it to the correct one since there are apparently multiple. The receptionist was busy trying to rush me off the phone at this point and told me I would receive a call from a manager and no surprise to me I have not heard from anyone. Another note I would like to make, they made a surgical appointment for me without my consent, not even a phone call other than the one I got to "confirm" the surgery. Fixing that was a nightmare because of their hours, not being able to leave a voicemail, and no email. Never have I been to an office where they just make your appointment for you without calling/asking what your schedule is, especially for surgery! I understand I am just one patient out of the many they see, but this is unacceptable. I want to stress that anyone thinking of making an appointment even though it says they are in your network make sure you ask the "correct" questions.

My father sees NP Kim Plummer. My father is 76 years old with congestive heart failure, diabetes, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia. In November of 2022 he got very ill with a virus (dangerous for a cancer patient) & ran around 103 degrees fever for three days while we tried to get in touch with NP Plummer. After the fourth day, we finally got a phone call back (after talking to the answering service in Ohio). She told the answering service to give her about 30 minutes to call my mom back (she was the on-call doctor & it was 6am. We were ready to take him to the hospital). When she finally called, she told my mother, in a very impatient manner, that she had already called in a prescription for my dad two days ago. No one in the office, including NP Plummer, took time to inform my mother of this. When mom told NP Plummer no one had informed us, Plummer's response was "I did my part". Apparently, bedside manner was not a course she took in medical school. Don't go here. Not only is she dismissive and uncaring, but the office is completely unorganized and obviously has communication problems.

He takes the time to listen and really cares about your health and well being. This brand new office has a large and welcoming waiting room, short wait times and friendly and welcoming staff. Their technology is also a major hurdle; the check-in texts send you to forms that don't work, and their app doesn't actually facilitate insurance uploads or check-ins as promised. Combined with the high staff turnover, it's lost the reliability it once had. I'm hoping things get better soon.
