If you are visiting from out of Norway, I highly suggest seeing this, even if you aren't that big into hiking or the outdoors. There is also a sky space and light exhibit that is open on Sunday's, so if you have a choice try and go then between 11:00 and 16:00, no photos are allowed but it's very relaxing.

Closer to the highway than the fjord, a permanent background of low street noise is granted. The site is a good option if you're traveling without a car, or prefer to avoid the high parking fees in the center. Two bus lines, one express line, take you to the center of Oslo in 15-25 minutes. The sanitary facilities are pretty lousy, but you weren't going to stay for a long time anyway. Do take a short walk in the park on the other side of the road where you can walk along the fjord and have a first (or last) glimpse of the city.

There are 2 sets of bunk beds, and a table with 4 chairs inside the cabins. There is a good size of open space also. The campground is just a short bus ride away from Oslo, and there is a bus stop right in front of the campground and that bus takes you directly downtown which is great! They sell the bus tickets at the camp office also. There is a gas station and a local store on site, and there is free wifi. The wifi worked only on the first day I got there. It's very difficult to connect to and some people from our group never did get on it during the 3 days we were there. Just a short walk down the road there is a beautiful lake. Make sure you take your own chairs to the lake! It's nice to relax and enjoy time there as it is so quiet! The campground has security walking around quite often to ensure safety of guests, and that all campground rules are being followed - especially noise. It was nice to see. The bathrooms are very spacious and there are plenty of showers, stalls, and sinks, as well as a separate area with shelves and mirrors to get ready/do hair/makeup, etc. I gave the 3 stars because there were several "travellers" staying in the campground who kept coming around trying to open our cabin doors & windows, as well as our bus door & storage. They threatened our group saying they were going to "bash" us. They banged our pots and pans and threatened to steal our food and dining tools, and were constantly just too close to us. We politely asked them to leave us alone MANY times and they simply did not. We then told them to leave and that is when they started making threats. We reported this to the office and there's nothing really that was done that resolved the situation. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay. :)

Oslo Camping of course! this place was fantastic! A great selection of beers, and 18 holes of minigolf that range from digital holes, to using the furniture as obstacles. It was incredibly fun and cheap, and I hope more people check this place out and review!

I've been here multiple times, the selection of beer is extremely poor, and to top that they're always out of at least a couple of the options on the menu. I've never come across more rude bartenders in Oslo, it's shocking. Also, don't borrow a padlock to keep your belongings "safe" in one of their bench lockers. All of their padlocks are the same and any key will open any padlock.

I found Authentic Scandinavia and they made every step of the process incredibly easy, from deciding where to travel to covering off on every detail during our trip. I booked the Scandinavian Capitals tour to Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen with my mom. We are not seasoned travelers and Authentic Scandinavia handled everything to make our trip go smoothly. They were exceptionally responsive to all of my questions prior to the trip and the directions they provided ensured that we knew where we were going throughout our time in Scandinavia. We had one change with the cruise from Oslo to Copenhagen and Authentic Scandinavia made sure that it was handled and we were compensated accordingly before we even knew there was a problem. They had the hotel in Oslo print their email update and bring it to our room to ensure we received the message. I wasn't checking email during our trip so this was much appreciated. We booked Hotel Category 1 and the hotels in Stockholm and Oslo were excellent. The hotel in Copenhagen wasn't on the same level but we didn't have any major issues and the locations for all were perfect, which made it easy to see everything we wanted to in each city. I would recommend booking an extra day (or 2!) in Stockholm, as there is so much to see there and it is a beautiful place to spend a little more time. We were able to cover everything we wanted to see during the two days each we spent in Oslo and Copenhagen. I would 100% use Authentic Scandinavia for another trip and recommend them to anyone looking to plan a trip to this beautiful part of the world. I'm already thinking about my next excursion with them!
