Warning : This is very long, but I think worth reading. If not, please skip to near the end. This review has been a long time coming (over two years) but, to excuse myself, I have recommended Laney Dental to everyone I have met with dental and denture problems. It began in early summer 2023 when a four tooth bridge, very expensive, fell out after a long time. I had 18 teeth at the time and it was on my eating side. So the only things I could eat were things like oatmeal. This is when the process taking about two months started. Other than recommending two prosthodontists my dentist ( I'd had him for 17 years and liked him a lot) seemed unwilling to help any further, probably justifiably. They were terrible recommendations. I spent about $850 on two negative and depressing consultations. One gave me four options starting with just dentures and ending with a lot of implants to hold dentures and costing an estimated $88,000. Since I'm in my 70s, that wasn't going to happen. Both told me I'd be very unhappy with just dentures. My impression was that they were both a....holes only interested in money.Won't say anymore except they both practice in south Everett, one has a Chinese last name and the other a German one. In no way would I recommend either, even to my worst enemy. Sorry about the long post, but feel it's important to describe my whole journey. Pretty depressed and desperate by now, and not eating much. Now, the much better stuff starts. I finally thought of a dentist who had briefly worked at my dentist's off ice, Dr Yerra in Woodinville ( very, very highly recommend). She was about 18 miles away but gave me a very quick appointment. She basically, very kindly and sympathetically, told me that my mouth was a basket case. She then changed my life. She strongly urged me to go and see Laney Dental. I'll start with what should be my last comment of the post - Laney Dental is superlative. All members of staff are wonderful. Jada, the receptionist is kind, responsive, helpful and accommodating. Skylar, Jayson's daughter,is also very kind, helpful and knowledgeable (also quite amusing). I didn't meet Christian, Jayson's son, but in this environment he can't be anything other than superb. Now to Jayson, the Dad who treated me throughout. It was the first time in a long time that anyone had been positive and it lifted my spirits incredibly. First, he scanned my mouth with a wand and showed me a picture of my mouth on a computer screen - not pretty. His equipment is top rate. I'd been expecting an unpleasant impression. Again he was very positive and said he could help. Not in a smarmy way (like you get a lot in the dental business) but understated and reassuring - realistic. He talked me through some of the negatives of dentures, very helpful in hindsight, like my biting pressure with dentures would be a lot less than real teeth ( not that my real teeth were much good anymore) and that initially I would find it difficult to eat bread- who knew? Then came the process of having my teeth taken out, not by him of course, which took several weeks and was unpleasant as you'd expect. Jayson did everything he said he would do including having the dentures at the dentist's office on time for immediate replacement after the teeth removal. I saw him two days later where he thoroughly examined me and put in a temporary liner. That started six months of aftercare, gums gradually shrink, which included new temporary liners every two months, culminating in a permanent liner six months later. The aftercare was included in the initial cost, about $5600 as I remember, that I paid in two installments. This may seem expensive, I don't know what others charge, but I consider it a bargain for the results I got. And that was it. After six months not a penny in upcharges. In the same vein, at six months I told him that food didn't taste as good with a full upper palate. He'd told me months before how he'd reduced the palate for someone but I didn't think it was feasible for me with so much bone loss. I'd been told for about 20 years that I had a lot of bone loss. Again positively, he told me I had plenty of bone and did I want to do it. I said yes and would pay to have the palate restored if it didn't work. He said it was recorded and could put it back any time. He then said he could do it immediately, which he did in about 20 minutes. When leaving, I asked Jada how much I owed. Jayson was walking past and said "no charge". The palate removal has been a game-changer in my everyday enjoyment of food. So that's it, if you want a superb set of naturally looking dentures (no white tombstones here) I urge you to go here. I don't remember one negative experience during the whole process. I'm also sure that they will see you very quickly and conveniently to you, something I still can't work out how they manage to do. Sorry about the length of this, just felt you needed to know it all. Dr. Jayson is one of the kindest most caring, highly skilled and Knowledgeable Denturist out there in my opinion. When the onset of that (Kovid) thing hit, you could not even get in to see a dentist or doctor until months down the road. At that time I had 6 upper teeth that were infected and my dentist told me they would need to be pulled and that I would need an upper denture. I was distraught and depressed over the diagnosis and cried. I began doing extensive research for someone caring and compassionate, (good luck trying to find that in the health care or dental industry). I made several calls and was not happy with some of those whom I spoke to as they appeared to be dismissive and not listening to my concerns and the emotional trauma of knowing I would no longer have upper teeth. I had watched several YouTube videos on what to expect which only made my fears greater. Fast forward two years later, I found Dr. Jayson and his incredibly caring staff that put my fears at ease. He said "Rene'" I have been making dentures for over 35 years and it is my passion, you will be so pleased. My heart believed him because you could truly feel his caring and nurturing personality and the light in his eyes, something I had never experienced from any person in his industry. Its been two months now and I have a beautiful natural looking denture perfectly aligned for my mouth, if you saw my smile you would think they are my own natural teeth, absolutely beautiful! They would also call me and check up on me, how I was feeling, was there any discomfort etc. What an amazing company with real loving human beings. I first met Dr Laney when an elder family member needed a full set of dentures. relative could not drive and was quite ill. Dr. Jason in Everett office took extremely good care of my relative who had cognitive delays & required more time to understand & communicate with everyone. Dr.Laney made a beautiful full set of dentures and the entire staff treated my relative with compassion and never made patient feel rushed. I am a social worker & no one else in the family could manage the patient's agitation and frustration/ behaviors but me. Dr Jason Laney and staff knowing my relative had several health conditions, mental health issues, along with cognitive decline always treated him with kindness, empathy & it was the only health care provider I took him to that did not bring out the behaviors; they treated him very well and understood his conditions. The fullest of dentures made for him brought his smile back & as with most dentures (full or partials) require adjustments to the appliance. Dr Laney provides care on Fridays in a Mount Vernon dental office which is 1 mile from where the patient lives. I love them. This is a family business with father son and daughter they are very professional. They really do care about us. Are your dentures dirty stained missing a tooth too big for your mouth they will fix you right up and you will walk out of there with a smile bigger than a day is long.They're not there for the buck they are there for us. So if you have stuff in your mouth that is to big doesn't look nice or missing a tooth call them.They can help and they will help they'll take that frown and turn it upside down. So I have been looking for a dentist that would make me a temporary front tooth for one that had fallen out, so I go to my local dentist and he says he can't help me and yet there is a lab underneath his office? He refers me to a specialist, I call make an appointment. The specialist tries to mount the old tooth back, well an hour later it pops right out. The specialist gives me four options and each is progressively more than the last one from $5k to over $13k and it will take several appointments to complete. So at this point I try to get a 2nd opinion, I checkout several dental offices through Yelp and contact them through there online appointment apps and not one of five offices contact me back with in a week? Why have it if you don't use it? So I try a different tactic I call the first office that has 5 stars and that is Laney Dental Arts & Denture Clinic. Jayson Laney answers we have a pleasant conversation and asks me to come in, he can see me within the hour. I head over tell him what is up, he takes a look and refers me to a DDS in Lynnwood who can see me in an hour! Wow! I see the dentist who can get me in says he can start the following day to address the issue and which I postpone for a Friday which helps my schedule. Although I didn't get a temporary tooth for the gap, I figured I could go a bit longer. Jayson calls me to see how it went and how I was treated,(really who does that) I told him I didn't get the temp he says come on by and he will hook me up. I show up and he takes a impression for me that afternoon. He than says he can have it done tonight by 9PM if I want to stop by. I work nights at a large aerospace company in the region and been up since yesterday evening or about 16 hours and said I would come by in the morning. Recently had a broken partial remade by Jayson Laney and found him to be extremely knowledgable and pleasant to work with. He talked to me about redesigning mine a little since it had never fit properly and would pop out. The redesign is fantastic and I don't even know I have a partial in so I am very very happy with it. It does not pop out when I am eating or laughing anymore. The other one I got when I was 23 and now at 78 it is so nice to not be concious of my dental partial anymore.
