Mum was shopping for a new car last year, to replace her old Honda CRX. She had her heart set on a soft-roader. You know the ones. Like a proper four wheel drive, but would last all of about thirty or forty seconds once you start to get into the bush. The kind that makes me do a bit of a mental facepalm every time I see one. I could rant on and on about them, but I'll stop myself.
Long story short, she was trying to decide between the CRV and the RAV4. I took her down to Lane Toyota, because they're nearby and they've been around forever. I was really quite impressed with the salespeople there. None of that pushy crap that typifies car dealers. Yes, they wanted the sale, but they went about it very nicely. We test drove a just-off-the-boat RAV4 around Mount Waverley for nearly an hour. I liked driving it, actually (although I think they're a waste because they're so big and yet not tough enough to go into the bush with).
Bottom line is that I had a positive experience thanks to their sales people, and I'm happy to recommend people shopping for something boring (and lets face it, just about all the cars that Toyota brings to Australia are boring - seriously, just bring your Japanese domestic market rear wheel drive sedans and I'll shut up), Lane Toyota is good. read more
