I can't believe I haven't written a review sooner. This place has been my favorite for prom dress…read moreshopping for years. No, I haven't been going to prom for years. But even when I was in college and prom dress shopping for my sister, I bought a bridesmaid dress and had it altered to be tea-length and then had a wedding party dress. I'm rambling.
The staff is nothing short of the most wonderful group of ladies I've ever met in what has to be a stressful role.
Most recently, I came here to buy my wedding dress. I was rolling six deep, and they brought in my rambunctious troupe for four and a half hours of wedding dress shopping. I would recommend not bringing such an entourage, but that's a lesson for another forum. But did you catch that? Four and a half hours. Straight. They don't time your appointments so you're not rushed into anything.
First, Kayla (the sales associate/store owner's daughter/nicest person ever) recommended that I browse and pick out some dresses so we could talk about what I liked, didn't like, thought I would like only to find that it didn't look right on me, etc. My troupe took that as an opportunity to pick out what they thought I should wear (mistake #2, if you're counting. Don't let them do that, it was immediately overwhelming). Kayla helped me recover from that, focusing on how I felt. After several dresses, she then went to pick some that she thought fit my tastes. I don't know how she did it. I was so indecisive, but she was incredibly patient, encouraging, and informative, letting me know which designers would work with design alterations. She pulled dresses that I would've passed, but when I put them on, they were amazing. She laced, tied, zipped me into at least thirty dresses, some more than once as I narrowed it down. She never gave an opinion to try and rush a decision. She never pressured a dress that was out of my price range. She was so supportive as I was so uncomfortable being on that little bride stand pedestal. She was personal in the best way - not assuming anything, but supporting and becoming my ally in the dress shopping. Honestly, she's just the best. I could continue with the adjectives forever.
Basic alterations are included in the price, and I went last weekend for my first fitting. The owner knew my name when I walked in (that's how nice they are - very personal). It was my first time working with the seamstress, so I can't opine on the results, but she listened to me, had me test out the pinning, and was super nice. Kayla was there to pop in and see how we were doing, too. I'm not worried at all.
This place leaves you feeling great. It's like a great haircut with an awesome shampoo head massage every time. I want to go every day so I can leave feeling great. This is starting to sound weird, I know, but imagine the best haircut experience, and apply it to this - it's the best dress shopping experience.
