Hesitantly, he said that the whole sidewalk would have to be taken out and redone. He showed me how the sidewalk would have puddles after rain right where people got out of their car. This gentlemen asked what the landscape was like previously, and I told him it was totally clear and I had 3 loads of top soil brought in and the yard was grated. He pointed out how the sidewalk around the entire house slanted in towards the house, instead of directing water away from the house. He showed me how the sidewalk should have been elevated somewhat so as to hold back mulch from one side of the walk and provide an edge for grass on the other. It was obvious that he was correct on both as mulch was getting mixed in with the gravel, and grass was already creeping on to the sidewalk. He even suggested that pavers that looked like bricks would have been a better choice as it would have provided the extra height that the walkway needed. He put his finger into the gravel and said it would not hold up for even 2 or maybe 3 years. (This was in the front of the house where the fines were not properly tamped down.) And if that wasn't bad enough he showed me how he would have quoted the job and it was 30% of what I paid Elite Landscaping and Design! If you're not sure of Mr. Pucket's work, just read his contract. Every single word slants in his favor and NOTHING is written to provide protection to the customer. The contract even states that they can take back with them any unused materials from the work-site... the materials that YOU just bought and paid for, so they can sell them again!

They basically average only 20 minutes to do a 1 acre property, and even didn't bother to show up one week. And this is the 3rd lawn crew I have had. Though they didn't show up last week, they are still better than the second crew. I was told the 3rd crew was assigned to my property because they were better. No way in heck do I believe that. I think someone else complained so they dumped them on me. I mean, I hadn't even complained about the first crew. Master's ensures piece of mind, but I have been going out of my mind for months. It id certainly clear to me, given the many good reviews, that Master's doesn't appear to be treating their customers equally. I have talked to them multiple times about their poor service. I have been more than patient, and over months and months have given them the multiple chances and benefit of the doubt multiple times. I even took down my review because I was promised things would get much I did. Well, it didn't, and it was just more excuses and empty promises. Thus, my initial review was 2 stars, now it is 1 for this reason. The truth has to be that Masters' management doesn't actually care, at least about certain clientele. The workers, not management, run the show, and the management is aware of and fine with that . The workers decide who they do and who they don't want to give quality service. There is absolutely no accountability provided by management, and there are no repercussions for poor performance. They just either give u another team, dumping the old one on someone else. Even with another team, quality service does not have to be provided. They just wear you out with excuses and empty placations. Meanwhile, it is clear the workers don't want to mow my lawn, are not happy I complained, and are no doubt doing their best to get me to move my lawn care service anywhere else but with Master's. I even suggested having the workers take pictures or videos after each lawn service so that management can review them to make sure quality work is being performed for all customers. But this was poo-pooed, and I was just promised my lawn would be better taken care of. That my lawn would be done in the morning to ensure ample time to properly service my lawn, with management promising to come back the next day and make sure. Nope, neither was done. I pay over $500 a month for lawn maintenance and hedging and trimming. Basically, they mow my lawn with rider mowers and do some hedging. This last time, they only had to do half my lawn because a huge tree had fallen down. Instead, they again stayed about 20 minutes, with part of the time two guys were hanging around the truck, looking for cell phone reception, while waiting for one you to finish. It has gone from irritating, to shocking, to maddening, and now to my thinking I feel like I am on the TV Punk'd or Candid Camera. I mean, my experience with Master's has been flat out crazy!

Used to be word of mouth but now it's this forum. Hal and crew are very professional and courteous. They have great equipment and take good care of it and like my house there tools shine. Hal treats his crew very well and although he may cost a bit more you won't get any better looking lawn unless you did it yourself. I've priced other services and his is right in the middle but the level of work you get makes up for any savings then aggravation you might get from a cheaper quote. My yard looks like a park. Highly recommended and going on 11 years now.
