No more huge clippings left behind, they take extra care around ornaments, I do see a supervisor come around. Landscaping looks great. Happy with their work. ************************************** Giving a 1 star because of several reasons. While they seem to work better with individual home landscaping their service a apartment complexes is not the same. They've been coming here for the past 5 years or so and do not clean up the mess of massive clippings left behind from underneath the mowers. They've left chicken bones from lunch laying under trees where dogs get to them and have broken lawn ornaments three times. The biggest gripe are the mower clippings. The sidewalk clippings they blow away but the rest is left behind. We have quite a few dogs that eat grass. With the chemical treatments added to this, it's absolutely insane they don't take the time to rake up what's left. As for landscaping, they trim the edges. They don't trim tress unless asked, they don't remove dead limbs or plants unless asked. No, not happy with their service at all. The landscapers we had before them were great. I guess when you go with a cheaper company, that's what you get. Rant over.

And, now I'm left with dead plants everywhere, ground lights that either don't work, fall down or look like a toddler installed them and uneven pavers surrounding the pool and firepit (which they first installed a used system and tried to pass as new) which are like a land mine of tripping hazards throughout me yard, just waiting for my 83 year old mother to trip over! Brooks wasn't the first place I called but the first business I called told me they were at least two months away from even setting up an appointment let alone getting a project underway and completed. But they suggested that I call Brooks because they knew them to be reputable. So I did. From the first call and after speaking with Gail I knew I was on the right track. It was late spring and my goal was to complete the project by mid-summer. Once I explained what we were looking for (a complete "do over" front and back, a patio, and a water feature) Gail came by the property for a visit. She went right to work on the suggested concept. In a few weeks we visited her at the nursery and talked about shrub/tree preferences and heard her recommendations. We arrived at a final cost, I made the down payment and we pulled the trigger on the project. The work crew (generally 4 guys) showed up on time each and every morning for more than two weeks. It happened to be the hottest few days on record in the Hampton Roads area but they pushed through every day. They knew what they were doing. At the end they had put in 3 tons of rock/stone for the pond, 135 shrubs, 10 trees and mulched beds around the entire backyard perimeter and across the front of the house. We now had a new paver patio with a wall on one side and a 500 gallon pond with a waterfall. And two months in during the height of summer and we have not lost one plant. Not one. (Of course we did our part by regularly watering until established.) That tells me something about the quality of the products and the skill of the landscapers. I've had plenty of issues with contractors since moving to the area 10 months ago. I've had more than my share of horror stories. This isn't one of them. It's not possible to thank these folks enough.

I hired these guys to trench my beds and add mulch. What I got was a rush job using a lawn edger and not a garden trencher, blowing mulch all over my lawn. Owner said there's deep trenches that i just had to pull back the mulch, nope only trenches I found were the ones I cut 5+ years ago and they still are better than those done by this "professional" crew. They left the trimmings on top of my lawn and new mulch, so much for the statement in the work summary that they would clean up and bag them...Large patches of grass were left in the beds sticking through the mulch. They even mulched over my irrigation valve leaving me to dig it out. I could have had Home Depot deliver a pallet of mulch and paid a couple of teenagers for a quarter of the price and a lot better result. Worst of all they cut my lawn, which was NOT agreed to nor even wanted. They trimmed the edges so short that parts of the grass are now dying from stress. They ran over all of the bush trimmings sticks and all grinding those and the old mulch deep into the turf. I've spent my ENTIRE weekend so far raking and picking up by hand over 10 Gallons of sticks and old much over the entire yard. Thier mower blade is not sharp in the slightest and tore the grass instead of cut. My lawn is now developing large yellow spots from thier improper care. After all of this all I got out of this was a very sore back and a hole in my wallet, nothing was done right. I now have to hire another company to come in and properly trench my beds, and large repairs to my lawn come fall.

They responded quickly with an estimate and evaluation of our needs. The tree was nearly 50' and I was very concerned about letting just anyone cut that tree down, I wanted someone insured, very experienced to be sure no one got hurt plus had the right equipment to get it down safely. We also had outdoor structures out there and I didn't want any of those damaged. Once we decided it needed to come down for safety reasons we were lucky enough to be able to fit into their schedule and have now gotten it taken down. I have never seen such careful guys taking care of all our things, making sure to cause the least amount of disruption to our property as possible. Took less than a day and they cleaned up beautifully!!! Thank you to all the guys for being so sweet, nice and careful, for going above and beyond in taking care of our needs, outstanding job!!!! I would definitely not hesitate to use them again, they would be the first call on my list.
