For a supermarket of this size, I think they could offer better deals, improve the overall appearance of the store, and provide more consistent customer service. I have noticed they've added more self checkout lanes, which is convenient for shoppers who only need a few items. Having shopped here since the Pathmark days, I can honestly say that the transition to Stop & Shop didn't bring the major improvements I had hoped for. One of the biggest disappointments has been the prepared food. Their fried chicken used to be one of my favorites, but the quality just isn't what it once was. The store itself is decent, but still feels dark and drab. I'll still stop in when I need to pick up a few things, but I believe this store has the potential to be so much better. With better pricing, fresher prepared foods, and an overall upgrade to the shopping experience, Stop & Shop could become the Publix of New York.

I picked up ingredients for chicken soup, beef soup, and pasta -- the kind of food that keeps you warm for days. I spent about $150, which honestly still feels expensive, but considering today's food prices and the fact that this will turn into multiple home-cooked meals (and leftovers), it was worth it. Being prepared during a storm beats scrambling for overpriced takeout any day. Food is definitely expensive right now, but cooking at home is still the smartest way to stretch your money and eat well. They pack bags with out asking, great service, nice and clean and bright. She didn't want to look at what I'm showing her, with the number. If you're answering a phone, you need to have better etiquette.
