If I could give a negative star I would post that! This company ignores you. I have been calling since March 4th (several times, several voicemails and various extensions) with regards to a warranty issue of a broken seal of one of the windows we received from them. Did online request (but later was informed the online request was not working and they were having issues with it). Left numerous voice messages asking for a return call. Finally on Mar 26th. I spoke to someone (who surprisingly picked up the phone). We had a positive conversation and I emailed all the documents and information that was requested by her. This contact person name was Lisa M. She said she would get back to me soon. I even received a job number. Days pass by.....No return call on the status of my warranty issue. Called and emailed Lisa Apr 9th for any news on my inquiry. NOTHING!!! Called several times again, left voice mails, tried other extensions. Then it happened a person named Teresa answered the phone. Again, positive conversation. She informed me that none of the information I gave to Lisa was recorded. So I gave her all my info and emailed all my documents/information again at her request. This was April 24th. Teresa said she will call me the very next day. Being alittle apprehensive about that statement, I asked Teresa if she will honestly contact me the next day. Her reply"Yes!" Well...I kept my phone close by at all times not to miss her call. NO CALL!!! So, I decided to wait a few days to call Teresa, thinking to give some time because I understand this world is busy! I called and left voice message for Teresa on Apr 24th. Now it is May 2/25 and I still have not heard from Lisa, Teresa or anyone at Landmark Home Solutions. I have called every extension and left voice messages to make sure that no one at this company cannot say they did not receive a voice message from myself. This is unacceptable for a company not to return a simple phone call. It seems these people don't take their work seriously (I say this because there was no record of my documents I sent to Lisa), they dont put there customers first - no return phone calls, they don't stand behind their products - I would of heard by now about a window replacement if they stand behind their products, and lastly, I would of heard back on how they stand behind their own written product warranties. I purchased 6 windows from this company and for over 3 years now, I have dealt with issues and have had to have them fixed. Still left with serious issues, I am now fighting to have them replace the defective windows they installed that leak water into my house, freeze shut, have drafts and fog up under normal/low humidity settings (verified by a moisture meter). I hope other consumers do not make the same mistake I did; choose an honest, trustworthy company and steer clear of Landmark Home Solutions. read more

In July of 2020, we decided to replace the original single pane windows in our 90-year-old home. It was down to this company and one other. Despite my wife's objections, I chose this company due to the foam-filled frames hoping for better insulation capabilities. Windows were installed on October 19th & 20th. 1st issue - Poor install. Subcontractor. Zero accountability. Comes from Hamilton to Oshawa. Tries to replace 13 windows and a door in 2 days. Day one was the demo and rough install of the windows. I work late and can't really tell if there are any issues in the dark but nothing jumps out. Day 2 same situation. The contractor takes us to one window to go over the functions vs going over every window. I sign the completion paperwork without going over every window (my biggest mistake) contractor filled out the paperwork that I was supposed to fill out. 2nd issue - warranty service. When the windows were first put in I had been working overtime and hadn't gone over the installs thoroughly. 2-3 weeks later we are cleaning the windows. Using the tilt-in feature one of the window panes cracks and breaks as I set it down to clean. Used Landmarks online warranty claims process we submit our claim. Do not hear anything for 3 weeks. Tried calling and left messages to the warranty department. Did not hear anything for weeks. Finally, I drove from Oshawa to the address in Hamilton. The address is a call center and not any significant office. Nevertheless, I waited about 2 hours to talk to a manager of some sort. Takes my info and verifies my online claim status. 3 weeks later a get a follow-up call from the manager. I tell her I've never heard anything from their service department. Takes another 3 weeks to finally get a person on my house to actually replace the broken window. They forgot about all of the install issues. Poor caulking with gaps and air bubbles on windows and doors. Left huge chunks of old caulking from the old window without trying to remove it and caulked around it. Nail holes in the door frame because they didn't have the properly sized trim. The door handles were brushed nickel but the hinges were black. Didn't finish the walk-up attic windows. Left bulging expansion foam and uncut shims They came in November and it's now August of 2021, have not heard back about correctly installing the door. Still have nail holes and gaps in caulking from the poor install. 3rd Issue - low quality windows. The windows are double-hung sliders. The upper sliders have little plastic stops to use as a safety stop feature. 3 have broken because they are thin, tiny pieces of plastic. 4 of the upper sliders drop about 1/4-1/2" when you open the latches to open a window making window closing operation a two-handed process of pushing up with one hand and down with the other hand. Windows are extremely drafty. During the winter the whole windows would fill up with condensation, we had to turn off the humidifier on our furnace. This was never an issue with the old windows. This is an issue of warm air meeting the cold air. The weatherstripping around the windows is garbage. I can feel the cold when walking past the windows. My only hope now is to win a small lottery to replace these garbage windows. I spent just over 22,600 on low-grade products all around. I could have saved 5,000 by going with the other company. For 20,000 I could have gone with higher-end windows like Brock or Renewal by Anderson. No point in having a warranty if they never service and are impossible to get. FEBRUARY 9 2022 UPDATE Ever since these windows were installed in November of 2011 we have had nothing but problems. October 2021, a service tech came to our house to determine that yes indeed, cranks on all windows need to be replaced. It is now February 9, 2022. I have had to repeatedly follow up via email with their service department (Taylor Kaus) about WHEN service will be completed on our windows. Excuse after excuse is given as to why service is not complete this time. Finally, January 20 a tech arrives at our house to install the new cranks in my windows. Ooops! The service department at Landmark sent the wrong cranks with him. Off he goes with a promise that he would be back end of January. To this day, cranks have not been installed and my emails go unanswered. PLEASE consumers, DO NOT buy windows from this company. You will regret it after numerous no shows, empty promises, faulty product, shoddy installation, etc. The list goes on an on. For me 11 years now. 9 windows installed by Landmark Home Solutions in 2011. 7 windows have to be replaced because of poor installation and incorrect windows installed. Screen on a window has to be replaced because it is too small and falls out. Casing on outside of windows had to be replaced because of poor workmanship. We are still waiting for the final window and its casing and screen to be replaced. Landmark will not call you-EVER. Repeatedly, I leave messages for someone to call me with status and never get a response. Repeatedly, Landmark promises installation dates and doesn't call or show up at scheduled time. Installation of sliding door took place in early June. However, the door was made incorrectly and needed to be replaced. I had no lock on the door for months. Company told me to put a wooden stick at bottom of door. Replacement finally took place in October after numerous calls to customer service. VERY POOR customer service. The manager was yelling and threatening me at one point. No one gets back to you if you call them, no one cares about your concerns. Not what I expected for a $3000 job. Installation workers were wonderful but management and customer service are brutal. I will NEVER use this company again! Beware, the negative reviews are true. :( read more

Waited around the house. They did show up on time. 1 window job. Guy took measurements etc gabe me his card and said he would email quote. Never did. Called company directly and they said they would pass .essage to him. Also sent him an email. No responses I wish they would have told me upfront a 1 window job was too small for them. If you can wait 6 months for successful completion of your installation, or if you have more than 3 months and time for many calls to the service department for a repair, Landmark is the company for you. Your calls will be screened, your phone calls will go unanswered, and ultimately, you may or may not get that lifetime guarantee you were promised. They don't have a minus number of stars so the review does not fully capture our experience of appalling customer service! read more

I am telling everyone about my experience with Landmark Home Solutions. After reading other reviews, I realized they are doing the same to other customers. How has this company been allowed to keep ripping people off, I don't know. This company has been a complete nightmare! Do not....I repeat do not buy anything from them. 11 Windows and 2 doors were not installed properly. I cannot count how many times I called this terrible company. $3000 Patio Door paid in cash by my 87 year old grandfather for his home for his security and safety in 2017 Installation began they removed his old door, put duct tape around outside until new door arrived. Door was broken on delivery for first installation , then second visit door didn't fit properly, put duct tape around door to seal holes went one whole winter with holes in door frame until new door finally got installed first time after 6 months and 2 visits later a door is there, safety locked isn't installed, door doesn't close properly marks on door frame from where door sits in frame when closed, still holes in framing where door was installed and not filled back in with no insulation. Numerous calls made, one rebate check of $50 sent by manager for inconvenience and was sent one year ago after I finally got through with complaints, and still haven't come back to finish repairs. Sent a driver down to put lock bar in, arrived didn't have bar went to our local Canadian Tire to purchase bar, came back with bar but didn't have proper installation kit so the lock bar hangs from side of door with tape. Called finance company to ask them what the clients do to complain she said our biggest mistake was paying cash? Seriously you are going to penalized a 87 year old man because he didn't want to pay finance charges to your company and that is your answer. Despite being a former customer, having bought 10 windows for my home, I tried to arrange to have a Landmark representative come to my home again to measure for 5 more windows. They cancelled two appointments on the day they were supposed to arrive, telling me the second time they cancelled, it was because my HUSBAND WOULD NOT BE HERE! I have been an interior designer for 25 years specifying building and renovation materials for HUNDREDS of clients as well as my own home and I am absolutely outraged that in this day and age, a company would maintain a misogynist and blatantly discriminatory policy that is not only outdated but contemptible. What do they think it is, 1940?? I would literally deal with ANY other company other than this one. I'm very sorry we gave them our money the first time. read more

terrible post installation customer service. We had 2 large patio doors and 12 windows replaced on July 8th, it's now mid October and the job is not finished. Just after the original installation we noticed 2 significant issues: one patio door lock is not working (which is a safety issue) and has a damaged glass inside (noticed after washing it) Another window is not levelled, and so the top frame is already sagging in the middle and mechanism sometimes falls off so you can not open the window This is not to mention small items like: outside capping has ¾'' difference between top and bottom frames, hole in the screen, windows are not aligned, scratches on the frames, and spots on the glass that are impossible to clean. Landmark technician came on July 20 and agreed that identified issues have to be fixed, new door will be ordered and ready in 2 weeks. 2 weeks changed to 2 months and on September 21st they were coming to fix it. They called to postpone it to Oct 3 due to "unavailability of wooden trim", since then we've been given 2 new dates all of which were cancelled on the day of. Recently we found they don't have the door (3 mths later). We've had painter and window drapes installer on standby for 2.5 months to accommodate Landmark's expended schedule. Stucco company couldn't postpone their work any more and started to cover windows frames which they suppose to align. We find the customer service unacceptable, especially for such large transaction size. read more

They show up fast to give you a sales pitch. They are well organized and efficient at getting your money. If there is a problem with the installation or their product, you had better be prepared to wait......and wait.....and wait. They suddenly become very busy. "You understand right?".....No I don't! Don't offer a lifetime warranty and claim to have the best product on the market and then, be so unoffended that you can make people wait for months and months before you rectify a problem. If you are going to sell people on your quality, back up your claims. Sure, I get it, sometimes products fail. Two windows I almost never operate BOTH had their seals fail. Twice now. Is this the fault of the installer? Is it the product? If you fix it fast, it doesn't matter! It is fixed. Instead you make me look, day after day at a problem I paid good money to insure I did not have. Your salesman assured us that due to your superior construction, we would never have any issues.
