We love this theatre for a few reasons. 1. The recliner "lazyboy" style chairs are super comfortable! This is a big plus for anyone, but especially for someone with backpain; I can actually enjoy the movie an d not have to be bothered by a lot of pain like I do in other theatres. The seats are really roomy. The seats are grouped in 2s, so that you can even lift the arm up and sit closer to your companion if you wish (might be good for the scary movies! :)). There is lots of room to walk by others in your row even with everyone reclined, so you don't Ben have to move to let someone go by you. 2. You can book your seats in advance! You can purchase your tickets online and choose your seats. This way, you don't have to show up really early for new movies that may sell out at other theatres. Even if you pre-purchase tickets at other theatres, at most other theatres, you still can not reserve your specific seat numbers, so you run the risk of not being able to sit near each other; this is especially good for groups of 4 or more. 3. The prices are better then the other Hamilton competitor. 4. Parking! I did think there may have been a draw back the first time we went there. Typically in downtown Hamilton, you have to pay for parking, and often is a reason I would avoid going downtown. The first time we went, we parked a few blocks away for cheap parking and walked in. Then we saw that you can actually park underground and they validate your parking! So this is a bonus if it's raining. There is always lots of spots to park. There are stairs and an elevator to go up to the mall entrance. The theatre is not right there, but there is a mall map to look at if you don't know where he theatre is located. (Parking/traffic could be an issue if there is a big event going on at First Ontario Centre though as it could get busy and traffic heavy after the event). See the attached picture to see when parking is free and when it is reduced. (Sorry, I haven't been on a Monday-Saturday before 6pm, so I can't tell you what it means by reduced price). There is a scanner thing that you slip your parking ticket into in the theatre to get it validated. I think they should advertise the free/reduced parking on their website, because before I knew about that, I did not like having to worry about the cost of parking. I also know others have said that's why they didn't want to go there (until I told them about how they validate parking). I am surprised when people I know tell me they have never been to this theatre. In my opinion, it's the best theatre in Hamilton! I always suggest to friends and family that they should give this theatre a try.

Pretty bad customer service. Kind of creeps me out sometimes, how forgotten it looks and feels in there.

The education programs and classes are well run and led by local professionals. There are several spaces in and around the theatre for classes and performances including a large theatre, black box theatre, and multi-classroom space across the street. I've even seen several outdoor site specific performances. Theatre Aquarius has served as a hub for the Hamilton Fringe Festival and is a wonderful creative place for community. Can't wait to see and experience more.

It was a wonderful incredible show!! We were so impressed with every aspect of the show; the lighting, the stage sets, the music, actors, singing and dancing productions; the entire show was amazing. In this day and age of techno mumbo jumbo entertainment; it is truly refreshing and uplifting to watch a production put on by such a wonderful group of entertainers. As I watched the production, I got the overwhelming sense that each and every performer was truly passionate about the performance. They absolutely loved what they were doing and this enthusiasm truly contributed to making this production an absolutely wonderful experience for everyone involved; from the entertainers to the production staff, the musicians and theatre staff and of course for us the audience. I will certainly be watching for future productions that I want to see with my family and buying tickets again. Thank you to everyone at Theatre Aquarius for a beautifully memorable evening!! I look forward to my next show. :)

It was and still continues to be fun. I had a number of SCENE points to burn. I decided to use them towards a free movie. I did a search and found this Cineplex. I redeemed my points to see Photograph using the Cineplex app. I took in a matinee. I had no problem finding the theatre. There was plenty of parking. There were also a number of restaurants around the theatre. Cool! I headed into the theatre. It is your typical Cineplex with kiosks to buy tickets, a ticket counter to purchase tickets from a human being, an arcade area, and concession stands. I liked everything. I didn't buy any snacks. I brought in a bottle of Diet Coke instead. It went unnoticed. The man scanned my ticket. He was nice and hoped that I would enjoy the movie. I used the women's washroom. It has a TV in there. The colour scheme is bright and cheerful. The sink area has pretty lighting, so you can apply your makeup or look at the dried mustard that you forgot to wipe off your face after consuming a hot dog in the dark. The washroom was clean. The theatre that I was in was spacious. The seat that I was in was comfy. I stretched my legs. The screen was crisp, although there were issues trying to get the movie's audio to start at first. All was fixed after the first trailer had ended. Patrons watching the movie with me were respectful. Yes! They weren't disruptive during the entire movie, which I appreciated. I had a great experience taking in a movie here on a Sunday afternoon. I'd do it again when I'm in Hamilton. (87)

Go here. Support these people. Give them your money…read more An incredibly warm, unique and home like industrial space, creating, supporting and promoting the arts in Hamilton. The kind of magic you will capture here in one evening is the kind most people waste every weekend chasing. I went to see a double bill - Amelia Curran and Jenn Grant. It was a rainy, foggy evening and I'd driven in from Toronto. I recently lived in Hamilton for 5 years and had not heard of this place. When I pulled up, I scarcely recognized it either. I opened the front door and the first floor was somewhat empty, but I could hear soft footprints upstairs. As I ascended the old wood staircase, having no idea what to expect I instantly felt at home in the brick and beam building. The room waiting for me at the top was a beautiful gallery with a cafe bar and the artists selling their merch. A room beside the gallery space had been divided by theatrical curtains and revealed a platformless stage with an old stand up piano, the artists guitar and two microphones. There were about 8 couches arranged in a semi-circle on risers around the back and about four rows of mismatched chairs. It was more comfortable and inviting than your grandmothers living room and more intimate than perhaps any venue I've ever been to. The sound was simple, but good. The vocals were rich and the guitar projected well in the space. You can hear two clips I took here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9Y46ydkSgY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AGkzKeXYfEY Truly, I kind of wanted to move in I felt so at home. The owners were kind, energized and wonderful, and the kinds of things they are doing to support and grow community and art in Hamilton are commendable. If you are considering maybe, kinda, sort of checking out a show here, go and all your expectations will be completely exceeded. You'll be treated to a memorable, magical evening in a very, special place.
