The food is as overpriced as anywhere. Best thing though is that sometimes (sadly not as often as I'd have liked) movies are shown in English. Discounted parking is available in the underground garage (2.50€ for 3 hours). On Friday & Saturday evenings long lines for the 8pm shows. Prices vary depending on how far or close to the screen you sit, but overall they are very reasonale prices for a modern day movie theater. Some foreign films are shown in the original language (usually English) once a week. Tuesdays are usually cheaper in price, and the theater also offers a student discount with a valid student ID. The student price is only 5 euros! There is also a discounted price for children (Kinder). The theater has nice cushy seats, offers all the usual movie concessions and the latest in German and Hollywood hits. All movies from Hollywood and in other languages are dubbed into German by German actors.

Another great feature are the really comfy lounge seats, paired with foot rests and butler service on your place. You don't have to wait in any lines, they come to take your order before the movie starts and there's a button on your seat where you can discreetly order during the movie I believe. All together this theater looks really classy and also looking at the hardware they are up to date with the Dolby Atmos sound system. Only thing still missing would be the IMAX quality, but the screens in their larger theaters provide excellent quality. Sure the Astor is more expensive than other theaters, but only slightly (they offer a student discount btw) and the experience is worth the money in my opinion.

The 3 screens (1 main screen on upper level, 2 small screens on lower level) provide a great selection of art-house, international or alternative films. The atmosphere is quite relaxed, and not like the cookie-cutter cineplexes. Wine, beer and espresso drinkes are available, as well as the standard snacks (but no popcorn). Arrive early for shows, since they are often full.

I have a great dislike for this cinema because it's ridiculously overpriced and there are NO movies…read morein English shown here, I can only remember even having seen one here and after that there were no others in English (or original language) on schedule. Might be OK for mainstream audiences, but nothing for cineasts.
