I love this comment from Adam G "What sadistic bastard designed this course? A 214 yard par 3 on…read morethe second hole?!" This is a great course that will test your skills. When we recently played the course was in great shape and the greens were rolling fast. Their range and practice facility are excellent and trust me, get there early to warm up. Being our first time there it was tough trying to figure out club selection on a few holes and some are almost unfair when teeing off from the back tees. We were paired up with another 2some and we moved through 18 in just under 4 hours on a Sunday morning! We all agreed that we would like to return and now that we are familiar with the layout get some revenge on this beast. LOL!

Not really my concern when I go to PLAY GOLF :). So, as the course goes, this place is great. I'm a scratch golfer and just went out there today. Drought conditions have been brutal on many courses I've played lately, but they must have a really good supply of water. Course is in great shape. Still slightly recovering from their annual large punch but should be immaculate in a week or so. Challenging course with a great layout and beautiful holes. Highly recommend, unless you want to be told you are the most important person on the earth and have people bend over backwards to serve your every need. In that case, I would go to a ritzy day spa...

The course is tough but rewarding with a lot of drivable greens and every hole is a scenic one. The warm up area includes a driving range (Balls provided), a very nice pitching area with sand traps, and a nice putting area to give you the false confidence that you're going to get warmed up and play a great round. Every person i talked to was incredibly nice and went out of there way to help us. Most of the complaints are from people who are trying to play with a 5-somewhere, or trying to bring someone who isn't going to play. You're playing a semi private course if you want to do this go to the municipal or go play putt putt.

The course itself is in tremendous shape, with greens rolling smooth, bunkers raked to perfection, and fairways trimmed like a royal garden. What really sets Olympia apart is the wildlife. You're not just playing golf here, you're putting on a show for the locals. At one point, I had a 12-point buck watching me line up my drive like he was ready to hand out a scorecard. You can't duff a shot with that kind of audience. It makes you bring out your A game whether you're ready or not. Now, why only four stars? Simple. Cartgirls. Or rather, the lack of them. Maybe saw one during the entire round, and by then I was halfway to dehydration. For $80 a round, I'd expect a little more consistency in the refreshment department. That, and the price itself. Let's be honest, $80 is a bit rich these days, especially when you've got to plead your case just to get out of the house. Try explaining to your significant other that you spent over $100 on what you're calling a four-hour vacation. Didn't go down too smooth at mine, I'll tell you that. Still, Olympia delivers where it counts. It's scenic, challenging, and has just enough Texas charm to make you forget the price tag for a few holes. Next time, though, let's get a second cartgirl on duty and we might be talking five stars.
