Likely saved my life... I highly recommend this very thorough, knowledgeable, no-nonsense doctor…read more Dr. Lavian ordered a lot of labs and imaging tests and prescribed medication after tailoring it to my preferences (I refuse to take a certain type of medication but he found an alternative that I'm fine with). The day after I got my MRI and CT scans done, I received an unexpected phone call from dr. Lavian's office. They insisted I come to his office the same day to discuss the imaging results. At first I turned them down because I didn't really have a way to get to Encino before the end of the business hours (which was three hours away), and besides I had an appointment with dr. Lavian already scheduled approximately three weeks later. Five minutes later they called back and said the doctor absolutely insists I come in right away to discuss the imaging results from the previous day. I did go. What I learned that day at dr. Lavian's office is that I had a non-neurological but potentially life threatening condition. Dr. Lavian became aware of it because the CT technician captured it in the scan even though it was a bit outside of the area that dr. Lavian had requested the scan for. Dr. Lavian immediately put in an urgent referral to a vascular surgeon and told me to retrieve the authorization the next morning and schedule an appointment without delay. He also reiterated the importance of adhering to the medication he had prescribed, and ordered more labs to be done prior to the follow up appointment. So, yes, this doctor is very busy and has a wait room full of patients every time... (Frankly, I'd be worried if the wait room was empty!) Yes, there is a wait at every appointment. But the doctor does a very good job and clearly cares about his patients. Dr. Lavian was professional and polite every time I interacted with him. Most importantly, he's been doing a great job as my doctor. I'll end by sharing what I heard from my primary care doctor. She said that from the ample feedback she receives about dr. Lavian she concluded that he wants the best for his patients. I couldn't agree more.

I actually love Dr. Pouya Lavian! He is extremely brilliant at what he does and also, unlike other…read moredrs, is comprehensive and shares information and discoveries outside of neurology. I think he is amazing!! What is NOT amazing is the immature, unprofessional, unexperienced and incompetent staff with control issues, as they chronically miscommunicate, do not follow up and order the approach tests that the doctor requests, charges for appointment that makes no sense because the labs are not done, due to the staff being incompetency. They also do not seem to understand how to use text, email or voicemail. It's VERY antiquated!!! These children lack compassion and understanding that their foul actions can affect peoples health. However, they clearly do not care and behave despicably!!!! I've read several other people have had this same experience and spoke to other patients in the office that also experienced the front desk's incompetency. It makes zero sense to me how a great doctors has such incompetent front desk!!!!

No follow up, doctor seems caring at first, but in reality does no testing, when I insisted on an MRI he sat on results. I repeatedly asked for help, my husband suffered for months under his supposed care. When I asked repeatedly for mri results and ultimately desperate for help this monster had the nerve to respond with a curt text telling me to not text him, apparently it was his "personal" cell. NOT a word to me about the medical crisis my husband was experiencing. Had to get results of the MRI directly from imaging center and find a new doctor. Not only dealing with the TBI my darling husband is suffering from but also dealt with the nonsense this guy put us through for months. 5 stars must be bots. I was also seen in a timely manner on both visits. Dr. Andersson is a pleasant Doctor, although I did not feel that he took the time to explain things as well as I would have expected, and seemed to brush off a lot of my concerns. When I would ask something for clarification, he would remark that he had "already explained that to me". After comparing this visit to another Neurologist (whom I saw after) and finding out more information about my condition (as well as the new Neuro reviewing my MRI's WITH me), I realized I wasn't that happy with my experience here, overall. It was definitely not the worst experience with a Doctor's office, but I am unsure if I will return to see him. Maybe he is not the right fit for me, but possibly for another patient :)

I have never had to deal with a more unprofessional, least attentive and more UNSYMPATHETIC neurologist in my entire life. To sum it up - I had a very traumatic experience that led me to fall on my face, end up in the ER, end up with stitches in my forehead and a splint on my wrist. All due to medication that he provided me and no information on side effects before taking it. So... due to his lack of communication(which is a norm for him) on my way to the ER I called his office, no answer. Then called again to only have his front desk say we will relay your message. This happen 3 more times, which resulted in me calling 5 times, while I am in an emergency situation and my neurologist who knows of my epilepsy condition has still not returned my call. Finally the NEXT DAY, I call AGAIN and the front desk woman says oh yes, he should be calling you. I find out Dr. Scharf is on vacation. He has no on call doctor, no emergency line to reach out. Nothing. He says he will send my records over so I can get in to see someone. That didn't happen. I had to figure it out all on my own.
