I don't know about you, but I've found the last few months to be a wee bit stressful (hello, Covid:…read moreI'm lookin' at you). To add to pandemic anxieties, I drove across the country from California to be with a family member who was dying of cancer. He passed away last month. :( Getting a massage in the midst of all this seemed decadent, maybe even dangerous--the irony being, of course, that I needed a massage more than ever. I know the importance of self-care during times of stress and grief. And my body and heart were both so sore. Ultimately, I decided to put up feelers to see if I could (safely) get a massage while in Pennsylvania. I did a thorough search of massage therapists around Lancaster, and was impressed with what I read about Rebecca at Enci Wellness. Not just her rave reviews, but the fact that she was taking extra precautions to keep herself and her clients safe. I filled out a Covid questionnaire beforehand--which I was happy to do--and Rebecca did a temperature check upon arrival. We both wore masks, and she was attentive and caring as she listened to me talk about my body's aches and pains. Honestly, before I went in, I wasn't sure I'd be able to relax during the massage. I mean, hell--I haven't been touched by anyone other than my partner for the last four months! But the bed was so warm, and the music so soothing, I found myself melting at Rebecca's touch. She was both firm and gentle, checking in with me to make sure the pressure was right, then providing a truly exquisite massage. Let's just say, if you have not had the unique experience of drooling into your own face mask, I highly recommend it. Somehow, Rebecca has managed to carve out a safe space in the midst of a very scary time. She even has hand sanitizer ready when you come out of the room! She gave me a way to heal and care for myself without unnecessary risk. I walked away feeling a million times better, and so very grateful. My recommendation? Treat yourself. You've survived Covid-19. You deserve it!

It's warm and quiet when you walk in. I've had mostly positive experiences with the women who work here. Issues--there must be a daycare or apartments above the space. When you're in the actual massage rooms it sounds like an elementary school playground is right above you. Running, jumping and childrens laughter. This was present both massages. The woman who performed my massage answered her cell phone 3 times during my massage and also answered the door twice. I started to get perturbed until I remembered it was a $40 hour long massage. Then the real magic happened... When I walked in this time, I noticed the both the women working had on jean shortie shorts and shimmering, revealing tops. My first instinct was, damn, I'm in a rub&tug. Before my massage, in a half panic, I googled the place. They're on Groupon. I took a deep breath. Welp, 15 minutes into my massage "Andrew" called. Andrew casually made a 3 pm appointment (sounded like a young man in his 20s) who had frequented this place. Andrew called back 4-5 minutes later. I knew why Andrew was calling back. In a hushed manner Andrew tried to tact on "a happy ending" to his appointment. Thank god I was face down because I got that "oh sh&&&&&&" expression on my face. The masseuse moved a few inches away from me and replied quickly, "massage 3 pm ok bye." Listen, I can't confirm this place is a rub&tug. I think there is evidence that points to that being a major possibility (Andrews call, a box of tissues in the room, the manner of dress of the masseuses.) If it is, who cares! But I think it's best to #1 NOT answer any calls during your customers massage #2 Def. don't answer when Andrew is calling. Will I be back, probs. It's cheap and a half decent massage. And shout out to Andrew making that 3pm self care appointment. You go glen coco.

Got there and the lady said no we only have one person working today. There was a man in the waiting room and she said he was her 10:00 appointment. We were also scheduled for 10:00. Said we should call the manager. Called and spoke to the manager who said we could wait and have one massage at 11:00 and wait for her to come in at 12:30 and the other two could have their massage. Said yes and went in to wait as it was already 10:15 since our original massages were supposed to be at 10:00. We sat down and the lady popped out of the room where she was with the man to tell us we couldn't wait in the spa because we didn't have on a mask. I pulled out a mask and she told me we still had to leave. We went outside to wait and watched another man enter the spa and he was not asked to leave. At that point we decided to leave because I'm pretty sure I this in not your regular massage parlor and I didn't really want to give money to that kind of business or have the hands that were doing Lord only knows what to those men touching my body. Called and scheduled pedicures at a more reputable establishment.

The therapist was very sweet and had a great healing energy. The therapist was up front that she didn't understand English very well, which wasn't a problem for me because she understood the important things, like where my knots were. It was also a different style of massage than many Lancaster Countians may be used to. It was more of a Thai style which is more hands on. I'm not very modest or shy when it comes to massages, so again, not a problem for me. I would recommend others to be clear about which areas they do not want massaged- pecs, stomach, glutes, for example, if that's an issue. I loved the attention to my knots and free hot stones! It left me loose and pain free for a month. I'll be back.

I've been here when one or both are working. They are both great. I'd give the woman the slight edge in amazing massage...she also walks on you... tho the fellow is also great and seems to be able to see what really is in need of attention from like a mile away.... If you want a particular experience just call and pre-arrange.. even on the same day you can make appointments. I've also tried their hot stones. Also good if of interest to you.
