I love shopping in this beautiful barn. I always find unique decor. And I love to support local families who own businesses.

This is the most adorable antiques shop in the whole world. Yesterday, I bought a weathered picture frame, a box that said "Misc.," and a sign that said FROLIC for $60ish. YES. WHAT. That's amaze-balls. The shop is situated in a barn (which shares space with, but does not coincide with, some goats) and the shopping experience is like wandering through a maze of awesome. If you're ever remotely in the area (not likely, but hey) stop by for Michigan's best selection of shabby-chic goods. You won't be disappointed in the selection, the quality, or the prices. It's the best antiquing unless you make your way through the miles of tents at the Michigan Antique Fair in Midland. Also, the owner clearly loves what she does and lives adjacent to her store. You don't get much more down-home friendly than that. read more

Went out today for first time. It was worth the drive out. This store has treasures I don't think you will find anywhere else. They have new stuff weekly. I will be a regular here. This is a hidden gem! I hear in summer even more stuff. If you go in winter dress warm cause in old barn no heat.... Let me start off by saying that I'm a DIY'er, and I create, upcycle and work on my own pieces/finds. I also shop the local flea market regularly, which is where I sometimes find my junk treasures to upcycle/create, or just purchase 'as is' for my farmhouse style decor in my home. So that may be where my shock is stemming from- but I have to say I was taken aback by many of the prices tagged on the pieces at this place. Today was my first time going, and it was a fine experience, loved the goats/ sheep! But I found myself bewildered on many prices on items that I've physically seen exact replicas of at the flea market, marked up to 2x,3x,4x the price I've seen at the flea market. Window panes in the same condition I've seen (and bought myself!) at the flea market- $25 or less at the flea market but tagged $60 at this store! Aluminum/tin farmhouse style cans and canisters.... I see at flea market every Sunday for $15 or less. At this store, tagged $30! Similarly with small night stands or the such that looked in original condition, or had been upcycled... Tagged 2x/3x the price I've seen at flea market or even local antique store in my town. I wanted to buy from and support this business, but I just couldn't knowing that I could purchase the exact same things on Sunday during my regular flea market run for half the price or less! I suppose if you're not a crafter, DIYer, and don't shop the flea markets, then yes, this store is for you and you will enjoy the finds! Understand that I'm not knocking the quality or unique-ness or cute finds at this store... I'm just questioning the pricing based on my experiences shopping for, building and buying many of the same pieces at the local flea market for much cheaper. I will likely visit again to browse, see if anything catches my eye worth purchasing, or be inspired by new ideas if nothing else. read more

The shop is cute. But do not try to place a custom order. I called since we are gutting our very large pantry and would like to work with someone to create a design out of repurposed pieces. I spoke to a woman who said "all orders go through me." We were not allowed to speak to the person who builds the pieces and were just asked to submit something in writing. Very strange -- unfortunately we will not be back to the shop. In this day and age, I am shocked by this type of customer treatment. read more

I visited this place for the first time last weekend after seeing it on Facebook. This place is so cute and there are many finds. I thought the price point of items were reasonably low. If you are looking for flea market prices, go to a flea market. I don't care to shop at flea markets ever and prefer to support family businesses. This place surely won't break the bank. The quality of the work on refinished pieces is just okay, nothing fabulous. read more

I've shopped here several times. To sum up their expectations of customers: don't ask questions, defer to our knowledge, and just buy what we have. This was my second disappointing experience there and it prompts me to write a review. I had been looking at a piece that wouldn't quite fit in my home. I discussed this with the owner, letting her know what I have been searching for. She mentioned they could make it. So after describing it in length, she repeats the opposite of what I said back to me. We were not understanding each other; which happens, that's why we communicate and try to reword things. I was told "If you are going to be so specific, the price will go up" and when I asked to look at the material before they would create the piece I was told No but I can have a picture sent to me. Here's the thing... I've had several custom pieces made for my home- I've never been denied seeing the material prior to creation. It is a guaranteed way to ensure customer satisfaction (if that's important to you as a business owner). Secondly, I am typically prepared to spend more because I fully realize the value and workmanship that goes into a special order. Rudeness and a condescending attitude will lose a sale and future sales. There are other vendors and artists in the area I'm happy to collaborate with. I ended up spending more that I should have and my daughter told me "if I can't figure out what to do with it, don't buy anymore. I can't believe that only one other person has reviewed this shop, but she is right. This is my favorite antique/gadget shop. I love going in the spring when she has all kinds of things made out of other things in the yard and shows you how to put together vingettes for your yard. I also love her Christmas sale where you can get FRESH greens for $7 a bunch. So much better than English Gardens and SO MUCH CHEAPER. I bought a hand-made jacket at the Christmas bazaar for $25! Even after I got it altered for $35, the total price of $60 was WAY cheaper than I would have paid for this jacket in a store. This is a GREAT place with so many hand-made items that I have no problem urging everyone to go. I know you'll be glad you did. She is only open until March on the weekends by appointment. Romeo also has numerous other antique shops which are great and probably the most beautiful knit shop I've ever been to. A nice trip to the country. read more
