We love this place! Beautiful location. Outdated, simple but clean facilities. Reservations are old school and difficult. It's a small family owned resort and they prefer to do their business over the phone and snail mail. There is no online reservation system. And they cater to their loyal customers who come to their resort for the same weeks each year. The beautiful location is worth the old school inconveniences. After a long hot day of hiking, it's nice to know that flushing toilets and hot showers are available near the main office. Cell phone coverage is limited in this area but WiFi is available at the main office and arcade area. read more

I had no idea this place existed, I guess I have been out of the loop. Everyone I have talked to recently seems to know Lamb's Resort. Nothing fancy or too flashy, but they make up for it with beautiful plots right on Lake Superior and reasonable camping prices. Even if you are not close to the lake, you are in within walking distance of the lake. Each spot is maintained and clean. The shower house and bathrooms are basic but clean and kept that way. What is nice about Lamb's Resort is that you are extremely close to so many great walking trails and parks. You do not have to travel far to get to any place where you can spend your day. If rain is in the forecast, you are only 30 minutes away from Grand Marais and can make a day of it there. Not a bad place to camp and make some fun memories with family and friends. read more

Cabins are really clean and rustic. We love the lawn space overlooking the water, the trails around resort and the Schroeder Bakery at the entrance for pizza, malts and baked goods! New mattresses in cabins this year made a wonderful difference in comfort at night. We love it here. Would love to see better picnic tables at cabins and more selection of apparel, or other items in the gift shop! See you next year!! read more

2nd year in a row going. The lake side sites alone are like nothing you can find in MN. Add in nice sized sites, clean, lots of restrooms, an arcade for the kids and close to several state parks.. it's a must for any camper on the north shore. read more

I have camped at Lamb's ever since I was a kid and had mixed experiences, it is a beautiful location but the staff has been rude at times, over the years. Rude people are usually "no skin off my nose" so my main complaint is that you can't check for availability online, and when calling in you have to painstakingly look up each date that you might be C able to travel, at a time. PLEASE get online booking!!! read more

We had a great overall experience their last open weekend in mid-October. Friendly staff, well maintained sites, lovely beach and walks on site, laundry, firewood, arcade, and family activities were available. My kids liked the playground too. There is one main bath house that is fine and port a potties on each loop. They are kept clean and not smelly like a pit toilet. My only complaint was our neighbors generator. Not a fan of those. It would be great if there were designated generator or non-generator loops. It's walking distance to a bakery and cafe (v busy on wknds). read more

This campsite is grand. The lakeside sites (if you manage to get one with basically 0 availability) are something out of an up north magazine. However, the customer support is little to none. If you call, which is their ONLY method of communication (no email, social media handle, or website contact form) you will very likely get a busy signal. If your call manages to get through, a man named Paul will probably answer, and you will experience an incredibly unfriendly interaction. If an older woman answers, you're in luck! She is helpful, caring, and chatty. Almost always you'll get Paul and you'll hang up feeling like you took a beating for no reason. The north shore is our home away from home and we spend many weekends up there at various locations. It's unfortunate the campsite is great because we wish we could avoid dealing with Paul. However, the space keeps us visiting. Maybe he'll change his tune someday (we've been visiting for 4 years) and it'll give this place a 5 star rating. read more

This was the nicest campground, our site was right on the lake, you couldn't be any closer. It was nice seeing the blood moon rise and Mars, as well as hear the waves. It was noticeably cooler at the site as well. The bathrooms and shower houses were clean and nice. The staff in the office were nice and helpful. They sell anything you might need (including air mattresses!) and there is a little pizza/ice cream/coffee shop right there as well. You can walk down to the lake and also the Cross river. I'd recommend the more secluded tent sites. read more

It's a nice place - the campsites are nice, bathrooms are plentiful - you can get a spot close to the lake if you wish - or pay a premium to be right on the lake - which to be honest I wouldn't have problem doing. They are a little more expensive than the state park campgrounds, but they also have more availability esp if you are in a pinch - i.e. just wingin' it like we were! There are a couple really nice pebble beaches to hang out on and they are very well organized. Will definitely be back! read more

Lamb's Resort appears to be a friendly little quaint campsite but BOY WERE WE WRONG. Aside from the cute little lakefront area that's down a little but further from the campsite area, the layout is quite strange and not good for families (5+ people), unless we're talking .... just you, your one child, and maybe a dog??? Oh, and *IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR*, DO NOT even think about giving these people your money because you will not feel welcome, not by the people who run this facility and sometimes not even by the people who are renting campsites around you. It's ridiculous that we paid to rent multiple campsites just like everyone else but we get treated with disrespect. Like I said, unless you aren't a person of color (we even had a diverse group), this place will be perfect for you. Do not pay these peoples paychecks by staying here!!!!!! I am not going to go into detail as to what happened but let's just say it was very rude and also very disrespectful as our family are yearly campers (we are respectful people) who would love to give people who are respectful our money and business. We get that every campsite has certain rules and what not but you literally can't do anything here after 10PM, we are here to have a good time and enjoy the beautiful Mother Nature but we were so quick to be blamed for stuff for things that we did not do, with that being said.... this was our first time at Lamb's and definitely our last (f*ck this place) and after this weekends events, we are never going to return to Lamb's and you shouldn't either unless you're into supporting bigots. I understand not updating other things within the cabin because it isn't needed necessarily, but beds themselves are a different story. Our family has stayed in cabin 14 for the better part of the past 40 years. It is charming and basic and we are bursting at the seams and absolutely love every little corner of it. It has a beautiful view of the lake and you can hear the roaring waves at night with your windows open. They provide warm blankets and fast, friendly service. It is not a 5-star resort, but it is exactly what you are looking for if you want a non-tourist, North Shore experience. I couldn't recommend a better place. Good luck hunting agates! read more

Fabulous location. We had called to make reservations and requested a spot on the lake. They were full on the lake so we reserved a spot in the woods. They called back in ten minutes, (who does that anymore), and said a spot would open up on the lake the day after our arrival and we could move to it when it opened up. We did and when the time came we liked the spot in the woods so much we almost didn't. We did however and enjoyed a beautiful view and really enjoyed the walks around the campground and walking paths! The firewood was too wet to burn but other than that it was perfect!!! read more

If you are looking for a secluded and private location, than this is perfect. If you have a large group and wants to have fun, this campsite is definitely NOT for you! Sadly to say the staff was not very friendly or helpful. Camp ground was average. This will be the first and last for my family! read more

Unfriendly, unprofessional and rude is how I would describe the staff at Lamb's resort. They were quick to assume our group was responsible for something we didn't do. Instead of inquiring or "warning" us that we were being too loud they indirectly placed a notice of the "camp guidelines" on our picnic table when we were gone. And on top of the sheet was a hand written not that stated "no fireworks". As we wondered around we noticed that the other campers did not have this hand written note on their rule sheet. So if you want to feel welcomed and treated equally, this is not the place for you. And if you are especially a person of color with dark hair well then you might want to reconsider coming here. This was our first and last time. The staff could have handled this differently and saved a poor review, but they chose not to. read more

We have gone there since early 1990's and LOVED it ever since. We would rent a week at a time.The old oweners were so awesome ,we never had an issue, if we wanted or needed to leave a day early they would REFUND US THAT AMOUNT. Housekeeping was there every day to see if we needed Anything,We love cabin 3 due to having dogs,lots of room for them. BUT since the owners sold the resort 2 or 3 years ago it has been a BIG let down!!! The first time trying to schedual was bad, the lady kept saying different cabins with different dates. Didn't make sence . And last year 2018 we brought up special friends from Ireland to enjoy our favorite place in Mn. The first day the van for housekeeping drove past us as we were unloading our mopeds and our4 wheeler. We took them down the to the shore, which we have done in the past .we obeyed the speed limit in camp like always. When we got back to the cabin I was the only one outside and one of the oweners told me we cannot ride our street legal mopeds or the 4 wheeler on their property. We were VERY considerate of other campers, never reved the gas. AND the house keeping van didn't give us things we needed nor picked up our dirty laundry!!! NOT IMPRESSED read more

the scenery was cool when you go a little off the campsite on the rocks. despite the scenery, the campsite is not welcoming. fireworks were lit last night (which are not allowed). This came as a surprise to us as they are not allowed! A member of our group (a group of mainly Asians) went to the office to borrow a wrench to use. The woman immediately looked at him and said "were you the one lighting off fireworks last night?". This came as a surprise as she had no idea where our site was and the fact that the fireworks were definitely off in the distance. She then continues to say our group had many complaints last night. This wouldn't be a problem if they actually came to our site to speak with us about the issue. The worker waited until someone from our group came into the office. On the "rules" sheet it says if you get complaints you will have your 1st warning, then your 2nd, on the 3rd you will be asked to leave, and if you refuse to leave the Sheriff will be escorting you to the highway. These are great rules except for she told our member if we did not be quiet we would have the Sheriff called on us. WHERE WAS OUR SECOND OR THIRD WARNING????? There was barely a first!!! Everyone here has given our group extremely dirty looks while doing everything the other campers have done (showering, bathroom use, going to the beach, etc). When expressed these concerns to the worker we were given a "not my campground" attitude. The lady was extremely offended when the idea that some of the campers were racist. She began to try and claim the campers here are diverse but couldn't form an intelligent sentence to save her life. Needless to say, we will not be coming back. I am disgusted with the way my group was treated during our (not even) 2 day stay. Lamb Resort does a poor job at accomodating to large groups. Also, too many fucking flies. read more

We stayed in cabin #8 last weekend. We had a pill, (looked like a fish oil pill) and a piece of dog food or treat on the sofa/futon. The sheets were NOT CLEANED..there was crusty stuff on them. I spoke to the gal in charge as we left, she didn't really seem to care, just said sorry. I also explained that there was no light in the back OR handrail on the steps, which get very slippery when wet. I told her my husband had had a stroke, and she explained it was not a handicap unit!!! Well, I don't think these items are only needed in a handicap units!!! I wasn't happy so I emailed, and pretty much got the same answer...sorry!! I would have been a whole lot happier if they would have offered SOME refund, especially do to the fact that we only stayed 2 nights, and had to pay for 3. These cabins are not as great as they look in the pictures. As we all said though, they don't care, they get rented, so why repair, or improve. read more
