This was my first time trying this food truck. A few friends really hyped it up. The place was such…read morea vibe. We went late one night. There is music playing. There are a lot of Tables ,chairs , benches to sit and eat at. I love that everything spaced out and not closer together. They do have a little station for silverware and a few trash cans around the area. There's also lots of parking space! It's a great date night area, especially when the weather is nice. Before anyone reads this part just know the food is amazing. We waited a whole hour for our food. (I want to say how long the wait is because you probably shouldn't go when you're in a rush ) They did get fairly busy quickly. We were at the back and I was watching the window where they were serving drinks and I really thought they were going to call us up because the pair of drinks were exactly what we ordered. I assumed maybe the drinks were for someone else since we didn't hear our name or number. 30 minutes later they finally called our number. I really wish they would've given us our drinks ahead of time instead at the end because when they place them by the window, they don't put lids on them. My drink was also missing the strawberries. But I was already frustrated so we left. They also had technical issues so I'm just gonna take it as a rough night thing. I got birria tacos and my finance got pastor tacos. We also tried the horchata. The food was soooo amazing. It was juicy and flavorfull. The horchata is probably the best in town! Next time I might bring a book while I wait but there will deff be a next time. I can't even describe how good they were because I was in Aww the whole time I was eating. This is probably the best food truck on our side of town.

Unfortunately, I had an extremely disappointing experience at this establishment. I arrived at…read moreapproximately 11:50 PM, and my order was not ready until around 12:25 AM. After waiting more than 30 minutes, I discovered that my order was still incomplete. The wait was frustrating, but the way I was treated was far more disappointing. When I addressed my concerns with the owner, Claudia, she laughed at me and made a comment comparing me to other customers who complain, essentially saying that I was "like the other people who complain." I found this extremely dismissive and disrespectful. I was not complaining without reason. I had waited over 30 minutes, my order was incomplete, and I was simply trying to address a legitimate customer-service issue. Instead of receiving an apology or assistance in resolving the problem, I felt mocked and dismissed. I understand that restaurants get busy and mistakes happen, especially late at night. However, professionalism and respect should never be optional. Customers should be able to raise a concern without being laughed at or categorized as "just another person complaining." Unfortunately, the way this situation was handled by both the employees and management left a very negative impression. I hope this feedback encourages better communication, accountability, and respect toward future customers.

We ordered their house-signature hot sliders and fries, and WOW. The sliders arrived hot, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, with just the right kick--you could taste the love in every bite. The fries were golden, crisp on the outside, fluffy inside, and paired brilliantly alongside the sliders. Together they hit that sweet spot between bold flavor and comfort food bliss. What stood out most: the staff's attention. They checked in to make sure the spice level was good, offered suggestions for sauces, and kept refills flowing. In a busy evening crowd, they still made it personal. If you're looking for a top-tier spot on First Friday (and every day), Chi Chi Birds is your go-to. We'll definitely be back--and next time we're exploring more of the menu because this place earned it. Highly recommended!

Tapa Tapa is very unique and creative. Always a new menu with something enticing you to try…read more Running into Tapa Tapa at Alamo Street Eat Bar was like running into a long lost friend. I had not seen them since last year. Tonight I got the Mac and cheese. So wonderfully rich and decadent. Definitely not your box of Kraft. Made with 7 different cheeses and topped with Cheeze-Its for crunch. So much complexity and so smooth and comforting. This will change your perception of mac and cheese forever. I also tried the fried chicken balls. Roasted chicken and risotto with spices that give a little bite, rolled into a ball then deep fried in a funnel cake batter. A nice sweet dipping sauce is provided that just makes it complete. Update: I tried the chicken livers and oysters, bahn mi style OMG!!! So very good. The livers and oysters fried to perfection in a light crispy batter. Then everything topped with fresh bahn mi style vegetables. The chicken livers were the best I have ever had. Crunchy on the outside and so smooth on the inside. I could eat these livers by the bucket. Head to Tapa Tapa and see what they have created today. I think you'll be happy you did.
