First time visiting. They have been here for 2 years. As you can see from the picture this place is nice and bright. Decor is clean and simple. I tried the lunch special which lets you get 3 tacos of your choosing, a can soda, and chips and salsa. I got an aqua fresca de limon. It was not super sweet so if you're used to that you may not be a fan. Unsure if there was up-charge. I'm assuming so. I didn't get my receipt texted to me for some reason. All tacos were good. From the ones I picked my favorite was the Al pastor which is surprising because I don't usually care for those but decided to try it today. The salsas were all pretty good. The orange bottle was suppose to be the hottest but I did not find it to be too hot. Staff were friendly and informative since this was first time there. Definitely recommend trying this place. They did not take long to bring out food.

Great tacos with seared tortillas from a family owned shop, Jessi is so nice and takes care of you! Come say hi to him! Loved the 6 breakfast tacos deal for 10 bucks, great portions & really satisfying! My friend & I didn't know about this place till now, and we're about to move away for residency, so UT Health people, come enjoy this place for us!!

This place RIPS!! The best suadero I've had in town thus far. Nice and moist and super seasoned. The place was realllllly clean inside and the staff was super super nice. All the tortillas are handmade, the salsas are great. I loved it and you're gonna love it too!

Was in the area for an appointment, and was looking for some breakfast tacos. Seeing all the positive reviews, I decided to hit this place up. Upon entering, I was greeted by the employees. There was no else there. The place did seem to be very clean. I initially ordered the barbacoa, beans and cheese, and carne guisada tacos. I grabbed a seat and was told the food would be out shortly. After a brief wait, my order brought to my table, along with 3 salsas. I was surprised how small the tacos were. The barbacoa and carne guisada were okay. The carne guisada didn't have the same taste as other places. The bean and cheese was alright, a little heavy on the beans and less on the cheese. I wasn't too full, so I ordered two more tacos: al pastor and suadero. Wasn't too impressed by either. The pastor did not have much flavor. I really only tasted the pineapple. The salsas were a let down as they weren't spicy at all. I don't think I will be back anytime soon as I can find better tacos elsewhere that aren't so pricey. At least the place was clean and the staff was friendly.

Great spot to give a try when in SAT. Coming from CA it was awesome to see the Texas version of street tacos. You order and then sit down. They bring out some chips and 3 salsa bottles. Habanero, tomatillo (mild) and roasted pepper (medium). My favorite was the habanero just the right kick not tooo spicy. The great The pulled pork taco This one was awesome. So much flavor in the pork paired with guacamole man was it amazing. Highly recommended. The Asada This was a good basic street taco. It was served with ribeye versus flank steak but it was very good. Highly recommended. Not my favorite. Brisket Really wasn't that good. Maybe it was because the meat was so fatty but really didn't feel this was a good taco. Think they need to not use such fatty pieces in their tacos. Overall I would definitely come back and want to try their breakfast tacos and the Pastor. My dining partner ordered it and it looked amazing! Family run place with a very clean look inside!

Taco capital is very unassuming and if you are not paying attention, you will totally miss it. It is tucked away and a little strip mall between a few other businesses. I had just taken my daughter to the doctor and we got out of their very hangry and found them on Yelp. Everything is super clean inside and they are very welcoming. Our order was taken right away and they brought out some fresh hot chips with some salsa to choose from From and they were amazing! The service was great, they made sure we had everything we needed., And the coffee is brutally strong so if you are a lightweight, maybe get it iced down or add plenty of creamer. I was a bit thrown off with the carne guisada because it was not the traditional recipe you may be used to. It was still very good, I love their corn tortillas, and whenever I take my daughter back to the doctor we will definitely go grab more tacos since it is pretty far from where I live. And I do think that the taco packs are probably the more economical way to order.

TL;DR I would argue these are one of the best tacos in the medical center. The first time I went here, I was trying to figure out if they were opened or closed. But then I accidentally made eye contact with the owner when I tried looking at the menu... so I felt obligated to go in. First impressions is that it's clean. It's a pretty simple place-- there's only six tacos on the menu. Three on a corn tortilla and three on flour. There are also "packs" you can purchase if you wanted to buy a lot of tacos. The owner said his favorite was the CAMPECHANO, which is a mix of the asada and pastor on a flour tortilla. The owner was so friendly and seemed like a nice father figure. I ended getting one Campechano to go and decided to eat it in the car with my friend. But WHAT A HAPPY ACCIDENT. The tacos are a good size! The meats are cooked to order and the sauces are so good. I loved the green sauce and sometime mixed with the orange sauces. I don't really know what they do with the tortilla, but it's so perfectly crisp. When I tell you that my friend and I couldn't stop thinking about these tacos for a whole day, I'm not kidding. We went back the next day to order more. We invited our my classmates to try it because it's a crime they do not have more business. Their tacos are so good not to share with others. We dined in and got chips and salsa while we waited. Then at the end they gave us fun little candies as a dessert. But most importantly, my friends agree they're the best tacos in the area!

We were trying to find a good taco place and by far, this is one of the best spots that I found. Food was amazing and the service was super friendly. 100% recommended.

10/10 highly recommended! This little spot had the best tacos I've had in a long time. Fresh to death! Served to you immediately after they make it, literally, you can watch them make it and they bring it right out to you. Even if it is not a complete order... don't worry, they'll bring the rest to you. Their menu is small, but I think that is what makes it so yummy! They aren't throwing frozen food in a fryer or oven. The place was clean and minimally decorated, they serve glass bottle soda and have a little box next to the trash can so that you can recycle the bottles. It's in a little shopping center so if you blink, you'll miss it. Just look for the Dunkin' Donuts sign and pull in there! To try it, you won't be disappointed. And if you are disappointed, that's on you. You must not like good tacos ;)

Quaint little place tuck away in a strip shopping center. Not very busy while I was there, it was just me myself and I. The taco were good, not the best street tacos I've had. The corn tortillas were a little thick, and not very soft. I had the Asada taco, Al Pastor, and Brisket taco: aka. suadero The Asada made with rib eye was not bad, decent flavor, The Al pastor one of my favorite was my least favorite, most of the meat was dry over cooked from reheating, the brisket taco, which is what I originally went for had the best flavors and tenderness.

As soon as I sat down this was delivered to my table. Already on my good side!

Tacos are delicious, full of meat and 3 salsa options that are difficult to decide which should top my tacos! Highly recommend!!!

GAME CHANGER! When…read moreI visit San Antonio Plantaqueria is an absolute must. I'm taken aback every time I walk into to this wonderfully positioned taqueria in downtown steps from the River Walk. The smells, the feels, the sounds- it'll set your senses on fire. It's ambience is nothing short of walking the streets of Mexico and stumbling across the best local food find there is- it's your lucky day. It doesn't end there, because I have yet to discuss the flavors that this place dishes out. If you can imagine that other taquerias in town as as good as mamma's cooking, Plantaqueria is grandma's cooking saying, " I taught them everything they know." The counter service, decor and neon lights transport you to a pueblo that you probably have no business being in but were fortunate enough to get lost in. I feel that the people working to advance this visionary concept are in love with what they do because you get that experience with every bite of fresh, homemade goodness, weather you dine in or take/order out. Dude, fresh corn and flour tortillas, C'mon, man!! And speaking of vision, the owner, Sofia, who looks like she would get IDd at a bar has created something truly unique and incredibly delicious. Plantaqueria has revolutionized modern, classical Mexican street cuisine. It's open 7am-7pm so you can literally have this all day and you might wish you did. Y'all need to get you some, and don't thank me, thank the purveyors of this Alamo City gem. P.s. I've brought my mom in to eat this stuff and she totally agrees!

(It had Just Egg but I think other things added with it. It felt that it was softer and lighter than if it was only Just Egg) and pico de gallo on handmade flour tortilla. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed it. Their two self-serve complementary salsas were also fun and creamy. Concha- Delicious and we liked the top of it. Maybe one of our favorite conchas. Elote hot cake - Came out really hot and was delicious. These are only available on weekends. I was tempted to get more but we had lots more food targets on the schedule. Torta with Asada was pretty good too. But the other items excited me more I think. The person at the front also gave us some samples of other taco fillings to try: the fillings of the La Ranchera: Potatoes and pico de gallo in salsa ranchera and also grilled nopales. My husband who is usually not as crazy as me about nopales liked them here. They have mole on the weekends but it's not housemade from scratch. They use premade mole and add some more things to it so we skipped that one. My general rating system: 1 star: I would stay away 2 stars: Has some good things about it but I generally don't recommend. 3 stars: Pretty good. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back but a decent place 4 stars: Great place. I would go back. 5 stars: I highly recommend stopping whatever you are doing and making plans to try it out! An Evie favorite!

That's exactly the energy at Los Weyes de la Asada. From the second you walk up, it feels alive. Not in a forced way, more like you've been there before, even if it's your first time. The kind of place where your stress, your diet, even your cruda takes a backseat. Now the food. No overthinking needed here. Everything coming out of that truck is a straight up pow pow of flavor. The carne is cooked just right, juicy with that perfect char, and the corn tortillas are legit, soft but with enough structure to hold everything together. I ordered the Mamón and the Chingón, and honestly, both lived up to the names. No misses. And the agua fresca de fresa? That sealed it. They serve it in a little bolsita, which somehow makes it hit even better. Simple, nostalgic, and just cool. As a fellow citizen of H-town, we have a vibrant taco scene and I would put this place up there with some of my favorite spots I frequented in HOU. Each time I've been here, I've ordered between 8-9 tacos as they are each $2.50. I've gotten a combination of pastor, barbacoa, lengua, bistec, and cabeza. I can't really select a favorite cause they're all so delicious with the meats tender and juicy with a heaping sprinkle of onions and cilantro. Make sure you squeeze the lime on it and mix it with the radish/cucumber garnish they'll throw in there. And don't forget to throw on that green/red salsa they provide. Either eat there or get it to go (which is what I did). Fortunately the tacos travel well as they were still hot when I posted up at my hotel to grub. Don't be discouraged of the long line if you see one as it moves quick. You walk up and place your order, then pay afterwards. It's somewhat of an honor system but there is security present when I went there so that eased my concerns. For drinks, it's either soft drinks, water, or mineral water.
