When we travel we like to try not just the food of the region, but good restaurants of all cuisines. We love Ethiopian food an were thrilled to find one in our trip to Florence. It is a bit out of the main tourist area but still walkable from most of the old city. The restaurant is run by a mother and two daughters, and one of the daughters seated and waited on us. She was very warm and inviting. We needed no help with the menu as we know the dishes fairly well. We ordered the sambusas which were excellent, as well as the . Hot and spicy. For entrees we ordered the beef, chicken and vegetarian platters, and shared. The food was all delicious all around. We were warned about he spiec level but we found it quite moderate (but we like fiery foods!). The house wine was good, especially for the price. Visited this place for dinner. One star because- The address is wrong, you need to turn left when you reach that road. The food was worst. No miser wot in the menu, can you believe it? We ordered vegetarian plate, we got chickpeas curry which was ok, salt less yellow dal which according to them is miser wot, we were supposed to get spinach but it was over, the guy substituted with tomato salsa which was olive oily max and salad dipped in olive oil. Food proportions was less. We usually order injera but first time here we did not. One star for the Italian guy who was kind. The lady reduced our bill by 4 euros for missing a dish. Excellent and well priced Ethiopian/Eritrean near the mercato San Lorenzo. The family running the place are awesome and down to earth. I need to try more dishes before I give it five stars but the injera is good and everything tastes like I remember it tasted in Addis Ababa. read more

My five friends and I came to eat here after living many years in Ethiopia, and I can tell you it's the real deal. The people who run it are originally from Ethiopia/Eritrea, and it shows. They played Ethiopian music, had lovely decorations, and AMAZING food. We got tibs, dorowat, shiro, vegetables, and loved all of it. The staff was so kind as well.
