This club is not newbie friendly. Why? Because no in the club helped me when I was lost and the Facebook group never approved my post telling them this. This was the post on April 28th, 2026:
To everyone looking to join this group as a newbie, don't. I went on my first run today, and because of unclear instructions on how long/far we were running, and because I didn't know who was part of said club, I got fucking lost in downtown Chicago after running for 40 minutes with no club member in sight. I made an Anoyomys post, begging for help on where I was supposed to go because there was no information in the app about where I was supposed to go and how I was supposed to get there. I messaged the only moderator I could find, and despite my fucking begging for help, he offered no sympathy, words of comfort, or support. I got lost and abandoned by the group. The main lady told me to "stick with the new people to make friends and show them the route," yet no one showed me the route, and no one wanted to talk to me. I was fuckin crying over the fact that I wanted to run with people and then enjoy good food afterward, but then was let down by the people who were supposed to be there for me. This running club is not newbie-friendly, and no one is interested in showing newbies the route. Do not go to this club if you aren't going with a friend who will stay with you the whole time. I am extremely disappointed in how this club doesn't care about looking out for new members. My anonymous post crying for help was never approved or seen by anyone, and the moderator never said, "Sorry." Choose a better running club. read more
