Some older kids came in and joined in the singing and added dancing. Just a great atmosphere for kids. The staff really enjoy children and trying to get them to smile. However last school year (25-26) a new principal was hired and I am not happy. This is an elementary school, the hallway walls were previously covered with student created murals and the other walls were brightly painted (done by the previous principal). As soon as this new principal came in she painted over these murals with grey, just what young minds need, more grey /s. And today when on get on campus. the rest of the brightly painted walls were painted over grey, seriously this is not an institution this is supposed to be a learning center for young minds, they do not need more grey!!!! Along with making the environment more sterile, some of the teachers that had been there a very long time left at the end of the year because of how they were being treated. One specific teacher did SO MUCH for the students, she planned so many activities throughout the year and truly loved her students, the school will not be the same without her. I did a lot of research in picking the school for my child, but now I am wondering if it is time to look for a new one...

Door A & Door B had no ring alarm, no buzzer, no device to alert anyone in the school she needed help. No one came looking for Vivien, Not even the teacher whom sent her outside. Let alone anyone inside the school nor did they think to look for her because she is a well behaved quite child as the school said.. but isn't this how we teach our children to behave? After 5 minutes the door did not open. After 10 minutes the door did not open. After 15 minutes the door did not open. After 20 minutes the door did not open. From the first time Vivien exited Door A it did not open again until 24 minutes and 36 sec later. If Mrs. G would not have been taking a class to play how long would Vivien have stayed outside? Why does no one monitor the school cameras? Why are routine headcounts not performed? Why is the school trying to cover this up if no wrong doing was done by the teacher or the school themselves? They lied about the time frame. They lied about the sweep. Their story keeps changing. They keep calling it the incident. There's no true responsibility being taken. They're not responding to emails. They've blocked me from the school page to keep me from other IBC parents. They've reported my page to try and get me banned. They made the video clips un-downloadable or un- sharable. They revoked our access to the videos they sent us that contain only our child in them. If this we're your child wouldn't you want all the answers? Wouldn't you want other parents to know? Wouldn't you want the school to be held to the same standards they hold our children to? To posses the same honesty, integrity, compassion and conduct we and our children are held to? What if this were your child? Aren't we supposed to help ensure the safety of each other's children? Again I ask what if this were your child, how would you feel? What would you do? More importantly how would your child feel and what would go through their mind if they were alone, scared, panicked, crying for their momma and praying to their guardian angel in heaven for help? The school advised us not to go down the road of what ifs but how do you not? What if I were quiet and by doing so I complacently put your child in danger? As the son of a teacher, my adventure with Mooon Valley started in 1980 and continued until my departure in 1993. When you go back through your memories, you have a tendency to glorify several of the things that happened in your life, but high school...wee, it is something that just happens! Coming in as a freshman, the whole expienece is a bit overwhelming. You see the world from the bottom and know that you will have to wait your turn to be at the top of the ladder. Moon Valley was a prideful school, with a history of success and a case full of trophies. A school that excelled in athletics and academics. Over the years, the school has spiraled downward and just driving by makes me just shake my head. Class of 1993... To all my classmates and the year of the first state track and field championships, I am honored to have spent some of the most memorable times of our lives.

On April 2nd 2026, and the 9th 2026 my daughter was assaulted by another girl at this school. Each…read moreattack was by a separate individual. The second attack was so severe that my daughter was transported to the hospital via ambulance. She had her head smashed against the concrete that resulted in a concussion by this girl, and multiple bruises to her face and shoulders. The school, after the first attack did nothing to prevent the second attack. When I asked them what precautions will be taken if my daughter returned to their school after this second attack, I was told she could use the nurses bathroom since the first attack took place in the women's bathroom, and that she could eat lunch in the office or somewhere that they designated since the second attack took place while she was at lunch in the courtyard. The girl who more severely assaulted my daughter on the second attack was withdrawn from the school. I found out that apparently this girl had been expelled from another school for fighting and that she'd already been in several fights that year at Moon valley and was on a contract for fighting so they knew she was volatile and dangerous and still did nothing to take any type of precautions with other people's students. They just allowed her to roam free..... The hospital visit alone cost me $1,400, I haven't seen the bill yet for the ambulance ride, nor have I seen the bill yet for the specialist who is supposed to be her follow-up for the concussion. Drugs and alcohol are also rampant in this school, they are bought and sold by students. When I had photo evidence of these individuals selling and buying drugs, and using alcohol on campus I brought it to the attention of the assistant principal and the campus officer and they did nothing with that. Also told the campus officer when my daughter was assaulted the second time that I wanted to file charges and I'm pretty sure I was given a bogus report number because when I went back to look up the status of my daughter's case the report number he gave me kept coming back could not be found. There's going to be a lawsuit on their hands if this isn't taken seriously and handled it a befitting manager and taken seriously with implementating some sort of safeguard so my daughter can finish out the rest of her year and then transfer her out..... Worst school any of my four children have attended and I would not recommend it to anybody if they value their children's safety. And when I tell you it's worse than Glendale School District I mean it. I regret moving so that she had to attend this district/school.
