A lot of windows letting the natural lights. There are not a lot of seating but at least it is quite quiet with the kid/children area in a separate wing. But there's a $1/hour charge for parking which is not bad and it is free on Sundays.

Not only do they have a play house, train tables but they also have this little hallway with explore tables where kids can test different fine motor skills etc. They have two program rooms where you can sign up for different programs throughout the year, some are free and some have a fee ( anywhere between $40 - $60 for 8 week program ). But you need to register quick because they go fast!! They are not only specific to this branch but all over the Oakville Libraries. You register online.

The Lillian H. Smith public library is a large library with 2 floors. It is especially great for…read morechildren's books, on the ground floor. One side has fiction and DVDs and the other side has non-fiction (including academic books). They have books that other libraries don't have. There ar plenty of seats for reading books on sight. They have self-serve terminals for checkout. They are more sophisticated that other branches in that you can actually login and make reservations and pay over-due fines (there is a credit card terminal along side each station). The entrance doors are self-opening. In front of the entrance are two impressive dragon statues. Just inside the entrance is an information plaque explaining the history of Lillian H. Smith. There is a large Chinese section as well. The librarians are courteous. There is free WiFi.

My baby and I go to the baby time program and family time program. There is a discrepancy with the program hours between the library's website and the library's printed calendar, so just follow what the paper calendar indicates. If it matters to anyone I noticed that the library has therapy lamps with cozy seats on the main floor. I'm not sure if they are a new addition to the library but I certainly haven't noticed them before. The only downside is that there is only paid parking and not too many parking spots. That's why I am only giving it a 4 out of 5.

They also have laptop rentals one of 5 location in system, seem to be one of more modern libaries like Fort york and Scarborough town center which are two of other location with rentals. Seem quite but I would imagine if get notice with unsealed off chidren area it would get noisy. The teen has one corner which isnt too far from adult area but with open area this place has to be noisy at time.

The librarians are super kind and helpful, and the atmosphere is quite nice. They have a lot of computers for use, and to print costs about 15 cents which isn't too bad. This library is 2 floors, the top floor includes the adult sections, teen corner, and videos/movies, as well as two study rooms. The bottom floor is the children's section, and includes a small play/activity area for them. There is also a spare room there that is used for multiple purposes. I really love that they have added study rooms and little booths to read or get work done in. This is a great library, and you can easily retrieve any books that you have put on hold. One thing I do wish though is that it would stay open for longer hours, as some days it opens quite late, and others it closes quite early.

Runnymede Public Library is such a charming little neighbourhood library…read more Runnymede Library was opened on this present site on 1930 and listed on Toronto Historical Board's Inventory of Heritage Properties adopted by City Council, 10 December, 1975. Yes it is as good as your grandmother! Of course, it has went through a couple of renovations. The windows opening up to the park at the back do bring a lot of natural light and outdoor space inside the library. Due to the it's size, the library's own collection is quite limited..but it is a nice place to relax and use their free Wifi!

The Runnymede branch is nice because it backs onto a park space and there is an entire back wall of windows where you can read or do work at tables. There is also an upstairs reading/work area that is well lit and often silent. I like to go up there to look out over Bloor street from above (pigeon view). The upstairs is kind of a secret. They don't really advertise that there is even access to an upstairs space. It's a great place to study, if you live in the area

The lights reminds me of moons and stars. Open concept space with comfy colourful seats and ledges that showcase books. You can also sit on the ledges below the moon and stars lighting as you can see in my pics. This is one fun library! They have 3D printing and button making for free on the daily!! There was a game by the kid section of the library and there was a sticker station (not sure if this is offered on the daily). The 3d printing allows you to make miniature toys and learn how to design your 3d art. There is a two hour limit on the 3d printing. Very enjoyable!

The staff was super nice and answered all my questions. They have a nice computer on site to search through the catalogue to reserve and hold book titles as this location is small and doesn't stock much. There is a meeting room you can book out and two handicap accessible bathrooms, however, there was no toilet paper and the stall was quite dirty. There is limited seating in the library. As the library was an open room, I imagine it could be a bit noisy to study. There was a small section of books and DVDs for sale to support the local library. Overall I would suggest reserving a hold on the book you want ahead of time and using this as a pickup location.

I have been to Port Credit Library twice. The first time was while I was in the area for ribfest a…read moreyear ago. I was early and decided to walk around the area. I found this library and walked in. I wanted to get a Mississauga library card. You can get one for free if you are either a resident of or work in the city. I qualify for the latter. What I didn't know, which one of the librarians had pointed out, was that I needed to provide a paystub as proof. Going to a ribfest, having a paystub with me wasn't in the cards. I thanked them and ultimately opened a card at the Burnamthorpe branch instead. My second time was recently. My manager was doing a search and stumbled upon a free music concert held at Port Credit Library. He asked us if we'd like to attend. After a lunch outing with my development team had shifted from Thursday to Friday, my intern and I were free. It's helpful that I have been here. My manager said that we would need to park on the street. The library has a parking lot. However, for ribfest, folks ended up parking here and you then have no choice but to seek parking elsewhere. I knew that it wouldn't be busy on a Thursday, especially with ribfest's absence in November. I drove a colleague and my intern over to the library. Sure enough, there was ample parking and chose a spot. We then walked in. My manager had driven two other colleagues. They were waiting in the lobby. He asked me whether we should go in. Um, yeah! It's first-come, first-served seating. The seats were attached. We got a row and sat down. Harp & Holly were performing. They are a trio, although my manager said that there are five of them. I'll stick with the trio, as their faces were on the informational sheet handed to me when I walked into the room. They play Christmas songs with a new age twist. My manager said that they were different. I thought that they were amazing. One member plays the harp. One sings, and plays violin and viola. The third plays the drums, bells, acoustic guitar, and sings. My manager tends to research everything about any person, place, or trio in this case. I am the opposite. I'd rather experience things without a whole lot of background. I did manage to find the trio's Christmas album on Google Music. I added it to my playlist. This trio was great. They gave us background history about their songs, themselves, and Mississauga. They played so beautifully. The harp solo was soothing and incredible. I admired the violin and viola playing, which made me want to pick up the viola again. The drums and guitar parts completed everything. They have lovely voices. They are calm and soothing. They harmonize well. My favourite song, Carol of the Common Cold, was the encore. It was hilarious! Two of them were holding tissues during their performance. My favourite lyric is "Think of the snot / Go get your shot." It's a fitting motto at work when the office cold happens,. The room that we were in was cozy. This library is medium in size. I can't comment on the books or media items that you can borrow. I do like it for such artistic performances. (450)
