Businesses in this plaza include GNC, CBD, Eyelab, Kitchen and Bath, Chill N' Nitrogen Ice Cream, the Poke Company, Park Plaza Dental, Club Pilates, Reef's Edge, and Summer's Animal Hospital. I have eaten and gotten drinks at both the Little Coffee Shoppe and TropiBowls. For a number of years the strip mall plazas along Federal Highway were aging badly and looking run down. It is nice to see the facelifts they are getting and the new business going in. This plaza especially has a good mix of places to eat and service based businesses. Park Plaza is a great addition to Pompano Beach Federal Highway.

There's a lot of parking spaces, but during peak times, these spaces do get filled up quickly by customers coming into some of the stores. Sea Ranch Lakes was named after the landmark Sea Ranch Hotel, located across from North Ocean Drive, the main public road. The Lakes was added because of the village's two artificial lakes. If you ever driven along A1A in this area you would notice this plaza for its domed sky mural that sits over a fountain and is ringed by palm trees. At night the mural is illuminated. The shopping center was built in 1966 and renovated and partially redeveloped in 1996 and 2005. Anchors include Publix, a CVS Pharmacy and a Dollar Tree. Other businesses include First Watch, Sushi Runner, Dunkin', Edward Jones, Simply Golf, Liquors & Lounge, Executive Offices, Patchington, and Very Boutiquey. Sea Ranch Centre is near the gated residential community of Sea Ranch Lakes and the bordering city of Lauderdale-by-the-Sea. It serves as a place where the luxury hi-rise ocean front condominiums and hotels can get there every day errands done like grocery shopping or grabbing a quick meal. It is so helpful to have a Publix at the beach. An added bonus is the ease of parking.

The Publix is a bit smaller than some of the other ones in the area, but it does have the basics...The CVS and Dollar Tree are about average for their size and selection. Lots of places to get burgers, sushi, pizza, etc. If you choose to take public transportation, the BCT bus #11 will stop right in front of the shopping center.

The development is being constructed by the Cordish Companies and Caesars and it will be a premier destination for entertainment and dining, It will also be a residential hub with 4,000 residences. I have been eagerly following the development of The Pomp. I have visited the Top Golf and currently the only other business open is Harrah's Casino. Businesses slated to open include Costco, Sports & Social, and PBR Cowboy Bar. There will also be office space and luxury hotels. Pompano Beach has lacked a downtown and a centralized, mixed use centers like other towns have. The Pomp will create jobs and a place where people can come together for food, entertainment, work, and to live. So far it is off to a great start.
