This place was a good drive out from the campsite but oh boy was it worth it. Settled right on the lake it has a great outdoor seating area that was wonderful at sunset, with additional seating inside as well. There is even a dock to pull your boat up to if you are fortunate to have one! The service and atmosphere is very laid back and country feeling which is exactly what we hoped for. Brought our 3 picky kids along and even they had a hard time choosing what to eat due to so many delicious options. The fried pickles are hands down the best I've ever had, maybe it's the fry shape instead of the typical chip style but whatever it is will please your soul! Lots of specials that change from week to week and enough portions to feed even the hungriest in the group. If you have impatient little ones or even pets there is plenty of outside area with a pavilions next door to sit at while you wait for the food or a post-meal relax area to let all the southern goodness digest. read more

Food- Over the years, I have tried just about everything they cook, on the menu. I wanna try the smoked salmon, when they open for the season. I love me some, of their fresh fried shrimp. The shrimp are fresh from Savannah, Georgia. Yum!!!! The management takes pride in their work. Service - The lake side grill has the best service from the best waitresses. Ambiance- Lakeside grill is right on the water of Lake Thurmond. It has a big deck, overlooking the lake. The Sunset is so beautiful!!!! read more

Had supper here on our first night at the lakehouse. 3 adults & 2 kids. The staff was super friendly. Very attentive. Our order was the Catfish Plate with potato salad and onion rings, the Flounder Plate with fries and cheese grits, a Pepperoni Pizza with cheese sticks, and plain grits. The fish was absolutely delicious. My granddaughter found out she likes Catfish better than Flounder (1st try). Started out on the patio but had to move inside due to a very serious storm. Couldn't see the lake due to high winds and Heavy Heavy rain. Very clean. The bathrooms could use locks that locked on both bathroom doors. A little, ugh lot out of the way but well worth the trip. It is an old restaurant in on the lake. Outside is not as pretty as the inside. We will definitely return. Everyone including the grandkids loved it. read more

This restaurant was not open on Sunday as they advertised and when we tried to navigate the maps we ended up down some dirt road expecting to hear dueling banjos any minute. We finally found the restaurant using Google maps and was so disappointed it was closed. Bummer read more

I got charged $20 for a pizza the size of a subways personal pizza...... plus they overcharged us

I was pleasantly surprised. I have gone past a few times but never been in because of price. Well turns out in the winter they basically have 1/2 price specials. I had shrimp with crabs legs and two sides. Had coffee to drink. It was excellent and we sat outside even though it was a little chilly on this early January Saturday with a fantastic view of the lake. Would I go again - deffo. read more

I've been twice on Thursday night - AYCE crab legs with two sides. Food was very good & reasonably priced. Friendly staff and good service. Inside dining area is a little small but outside dining on the patio is available. Nice view of Clarks Hill Lake. read more

Beautiful view from outside dining area. Great service, and consistently yummy food. Burgers, seafood and sandwiches. Something for everyone. Evenings, you can also order salad and admire a spectacular sunset. We boat there, but you can also drive. read more

This is a small lake side restaurant with a great view. The sunset is excellent from their back deck. We love the crab and shrimp. The Poboy sandwich is awesome. The pizza is junk but you don't come to a lake side restaurant for pizza normally. They have ice cold beer, a good dock for multiple boats and friendly staff. Very family friendly and you can walk up in a bathing suit or shorts no problem. read more

Terrible service. Took well over 45 mins to get our meal. Shrimp were tasty once it finally got to us.
