They have the worst front office staff. It was a nightmare even getting the appointment. A third party verification for insurance that DOES NOT WORK. The staff was not knowledgeable or kind. I got the worst feeling and was not going to trust them with my child. I will never go back or recommend them to anyone. Stay away! read more

This is by far the worst dental experience I have ever had in my entire life. I had to have many teeth removed and a partial upper denture created. I came to this office because I'd previously used it under their last owner/operator. We'd moved to Denton since the last time I'd been there so now this was a 20 mile trip for me for every visit. I specifically said this was what was motivating me to use them, but they didn't mention that dentist had left and a new dentist was there until I was in the exam chair. Every time I visited the office my total price changed. At my penultimate visit I pointed this out and asked them to verify that their calculations were correct because each visit the total amount went up. At the beginning of the procedure I was shown a total amount I would be responsible for - but after that I was only ever shown what happened that day with no reflection of my total balance or any price changes that have occurred. I pointed this out to the tyrannical office manager after she finished having an argument with the previous gentleman checking out (apparently they bring you in for a cleaning covered by insurance, then do a different cleaning and make you pay for it) and she said that while they did have all the records, I would need to find my original paperwork they gave me months before and prove to her that the billing was incorrect. Fast forward a month to when my partial denture is finally there. I called the office to set my appointment and I asked what my total due was. Previously I was told it was approximately $1900 ($500 of which I'd paid the previous visit, when they'd told me nothing would be due until the actual appliance came in prior to that visit) - I thought that was way too high based on the first treatment plan and that is what caused the argument where the office manager refused to show me their paperwork to verify my total. After about 5 minutes the receptionist comes back and says it's under $500 - it was like "$459.36" or something but it was a number down to the penny. I was estatic - I thought they'd finally sat down and done the paperwork correctly (Keep in mind by now I've started getting EoB paperwork from my insurer pointing out all the things they haven't paid because the dentist's office can't submit the right x-ray slides). I'm so excited I call my wife because this is less than I expected, but much closer to the actual number I'd originally been quoted. I figured all the extra money we'd paid along the way finally caught up. 5 minutes later the office manager calls me to say that the receptionist was new and incorrect. No explanation of what that TO THE PENNY total amount was or how she got to it, no explanation on why no one had gone back to look at my paperwork at all (I know this because the office manager complained to me and the dentist the next day about how she'd had to spend time looking things up in their medical records.) I pointed out all the mistakes they've made, how at literally every appointment there has been a screw-up with zero explanation or apology. I came in the next day, she verbally berated an employee in front of 2 patients for taking me back when it was time to take me back rather than letting her do it. She then took me to an open exam room and began trying to explain that because she hadn't created the original treatment plan she wasn't responsible for it and it should be ignored in favor of the individual visit billing she'd done. She claimed I owed approximately $1400, her employee said it was under $500, and I said "make it $1000 and you'll never hear from me again because I am sick of dealing with this." She said they couldn't do that but would give me a small discount. I said I would pay the full amount but I will devote a new hobby to making people know how poorly you treated me. She then stormed into the dentist's closed office and began discussing me. At one point I did raise my voice to point out that I could hear her and it was very unprofessional. She yelled from the closed office, "I'm trying to tell the dentist what you're doing." Dentist comes out of his office to "get my side of the story" like he's my father and I've had an argument with a sibling. I begin explaining what I've written above and she repeatedly interrupts me until I point out how unprofessional that is and ask her to let me speak. The dentist is adamant that he has zero input over pricing or anything the front office does. All he does is fix teeth and he has zero input on anything else. Then why did the office manager have to run in and yell about me to him? Finally she returned a few minutes later AS THE DENTIST HAD HIS HANDS IN MY MOUTH to say "oh, and he said he didn't get a check-in call but I have a note that we did it!" To which I finally had to point out how unprofessional she was being and that she is setting a horrible example. read more

Be careful. They do not want to do simple cleaning. They want to do a "deep clean", which costs a lot more. Just had a deep clean done 7 months ago but had to switch dentist due to insurance. This was my first visit to the office for a cleaning and I felt very comfortable. The clinic is clean and smells very nice. I had my apt with Dr. Huang, who was very nice and professional. He did a great job explaining what he saw and telling me options. I will be recommending him to others. I also had Yudira take my X-rays and polish and she made me feel comfortable as well. I have taken my kids to this office since 2018. Never had problems until this year. My final straw was how Dr. Emnet Berhanu treated my daughter. She made her feel inadequate and talked to her in a manner that made her afraid to get the services she needed even though she was ready. We waited almost 45 mins for them to get their stuff together, which added on to her anxiety. The other male doctor also acted as if he wanted to shy away from not doing work and kept suggesting to take her to a pediatric doctor when she is also a teenager. What's the point of being a family practice when you are acting afraid to work on a "family member"? She had work done before with Dr. Hanson and Song with no issues. We won't be back! read more

Don't go , Run fast! They over charged my credit card by $80.00, called office woman admitted it was over charged. said she would talk with Dr. and refund to card. That was 2 months ago. Now they can tell who is calling and refuse to even answer phone. They also made a set of dentures for me that me that the top was so big hey fell out of my mouth and bottom would not lock down. I went to the Oral Surg. at there request and she said no problem Dentist should be able to fit denture. Then she refused to remake after she said she would and only wanted to give less then 1/2 back. After a threat of court she refunded that money but still refuses to refund the over charge she got paid through the credit card. Dishonest! Girl at front desk Rude, Nasty. I honestly didn't have an issue with this place or staff until i made the mistake of getting Ortho, this place was my regular dentist but after having such a horrible experience I will be leaving Lakeside Dental. The Ortho Dr. Works at this location 2 days a month for only a few hours and if you can't make it you will have to be scheduled for the next month. For the price that it cost for braces & the service i recieved it wasnt worth it. I highly recommend going to a FULL - TIME ORTHDONTIST. If you value your time, don't go to this office. No sense of urgency from any of the staff members and they over book all the time. Insurance milking and up-sell central. Go in for a cleaning and get up-sold a "deep clean aka root scaling". Be told about how poor certain teeth are etc. Be extremely firm and hold true to just wanting a cleaning and they will eventually cave but they won't be happy about it. No sense in giving them 1 star because so many dentist offices are doing this type of stuff it's almost expected which is so sad. They actually have the classes and online modules that dental offices can take to learn on up-selling services that aren't needed. They take a page out of the auto mechanic book. This day and age you have to be extremely savvy with the medical field. Good luck but trust me you don't need a root scaling. Insurance pays the office triple the $$$ for root scalings vs. routine cleanings. read more

Completely appalled! Let me start off by saying I have been in the dental field since some of these people were in Jr. High. This office seems to be in the habbit of billing the insurance and charging patients for expensive procedures that are NOT required. My husband and I went to have our teeth cleaned. My husband was told he needed a Scaling and Root planing ( deep cleaning ). The office also tried several times to sell him a night guard, and tried to dismiss him from the room WITHOUT addressing his main concern for the visit. I have been in the dental field for over 17 years and my husband was a patient of mine. HE DOES NOT REQUIRE A DEEP CLEANING. When I asked their reasoning for this deep cleaning, I was told he had some tea/coffee stains on his teeth and few slight pockets on a few back teeth. And he had slight tarter on the backs of her lower front teeth. ALL OF WHICH ARE NORMAL, AND CAN BE TAKEN CARE OF IN A NORMAL CLEANING. As for me, the hygienist came into the waiting room and started to discuss my medical forms in front of everyone in the waiting room. She said that since I can't have x- rays today I can't have my teeth cleaned. I said " you can't clean my teeth WITHOUT X- rays!?" Before she even looked in my mouth she said I might need a deep cleaning. Do your self a favor and go to another practice where they actually listen to you and don't diagnose imaginary dental work they can bill you and insurance for. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ read more

He is so kind and patient, with a very soothing manner. They give discounts for cash or credit card payments. They are open till 7 p.m. and have some Sat. hours.ots of parking, too. I left after being there 2 1/2 hours. I went in for a teeth cleaning and ended up with nothing. They wanted to fill 7 teeth and do a deep cleaning. Today, I went to another dentist who said that there was no way I needed a deep cleaning and even if they replaced all my old fillings, she couldn't find 7 teeth to fill. I asked the new dentist if they could request the X-rays and Lakeside refused saying that they would call for my consent, but never called. They are running a major scam over there! I had to wait 1.5 hrs to get a cleaning. They took x-rays, then I waited, saw the doctor then waited some more finally after 1.5 hrs I saw the hygienist. My cleaning was the most painful I've ever had and I've had fillings done with no anesthesia, local or general. The front desk staff and check-out staff is always friendly, Their office is always clean and they have the newest technology. I went in for a cleaning, and they did a thorough job. Upon arriving they took x-rays of my teeth and a cranial x-ray. The hygienist cleaning my teeth was very personable, thorough, and not in a hurry. The Dentist whom checked my teeth had a great sense of humor, and explained exactly what he was seeing with my teeth in layman's terms. I swear some of these bad reviews are from outer space, because they are foreign to our family's experience thus far. We have a 7 year old who had several cavities found during her first visit here, while our 5 year old had zero. I was very concerned about how she would do because she is highly sensitive about pain and other new experiences in general. Dr. Jones has perhaps the best bedside manner and patient awareness I've ever seen in any medical field. Not only did he recommend doing "less" fillings on the first round, he went above and beyond to make our daughter feel comfortable and safe. She did very well, no tears, and no issues whatsoever. I was really happy with my first experience at Lakeside Dental. My husband had been seen here first and had work done by Dr Hanson. He was happy with his experience. I thought the front office staff was friendly, the hygenist did a thorough job cleaning my teeth, then I met with Dr Jones about some old fillings in need of repair. He was able to fix two of them right then and it was a pleasant experience as far as dental work goes. Prices seemed fair. He made sure I was comfortable and everything turned out very good. this place was fantastic, I have let my dentist of 18 years because the office staff was rude to my spouse, that dentist was a family friend, so I was looking for a place with a small town atmosphere, and I FOUND IT!!! I am now sorry I didnt leave my old dentist years ago. The staff was fantastic, all the way from the receptionist at check in and checkout, to the Dr who was with me for a hour! Horrible they charged me for my sons account and even put it on my credit he is grown and doesn't even live with me I just have coverage on him due to him being in a student in college but he is grown pays his own bills and everything. I called them and they said they would fix it but they lied they did not. I started off liking this facility. I was new to the area and had a pain that needed to to checked out. It turned out that I needed to have a crown. The first visit it took 25 minutes to be called back - that's fine but I took off work to waste time sitting. Dr Jones was my dentist and he has a warm caring and enchanting personality. He was warm and mad me feel like he was treating me like his child. I liked him so much to return to start the crown process. The second visit I started the crown process and was given numbing pain and the process of drilling was not horrible. I survived and the temporary crown looked nice. Dr Jones explained everything he was doing and made sure I stayed numb. The third visit- THE THIRD VISIT WAS HORRENDOUS HUMILIATING AND DISTURBING. The third visit I was going to have my routine cleaning and install of the permanent crown. The dental assistant was going to remove the temporary crown and that scared me as she is not the dentist. I couldn't let her do it. She said Dr. Jones would be able to. Then the dental hygienist (middle aged white lady) didn't know she was going to clean my teeth. She then started the process. When she was examine my teeth using the scale (4-3-2-1) she kept loosing her place on my teeth when telling the assistant and would have to go back and re do it. I thought maybe she had a long day. She was friendly, told me she liked my nails and makeup etc. She talked about her some dating twins at separate times in high school. She said my teeth were not that bad. Yet she then flipped a switch and started to hurt my mouth by scrapping my teeth. I told her it hurt. She then held up a tool and said this is a form of staph do you want this in your mouth or should I continue. It was a total bizarre moment and now that I think about it, it reminds me of mommy dearest. She started to lecture me and berate me. She pulled another tech in the room and I told her to stop it hurts. She then pushed the tray back and said that's what I wanted you to hear. I'm going to document this. When it was over I was crying because it hurt and I was embarrassed. I am 30 years old and have never had someone treat me so horribly. DR Jones came in and talked to me and made me feel somewhat better. He tried to pop off the temporary crown and it hurt. It gave me numbing meds and then was able to fix my tooth. I was so glad to be done with this place. I was at my final visit from 2.30 to 6.10 pm. I'm finally writing the review not angry but sad at how a dental office could treat someone like this. I liked the dentist but don't want to return due to the fear of that hygienist. I think she needs to be evaluated and drug tested for her peculiar range of temperament. I started going to Lakeside Dental several years ago, shortly after they opened I believe. I loved Dr. Reyes from the first visit, and took my teenage son to her as well for some major work and deep cleaning. The staff has always been very patient and gentle, especially with folks like me who have deep "dental anxiety." When I lost my dental insurance through layoff, they worked with me as a cash patient as well. Then I skipped going to the dentist altogether for several years while not having insurance, knowing that I could not afford anything major if it came up. Eventually, this year, I got dental insurance again - and just in time, because a crown cracked and broke halfway of. It was an expensive replacement, but thank God for insurance, and a staff member who got me in quickly to get the ball rolling. Crown was removed, problem area filled, and temporary crown made in one visit of a few hours. Got the new one in and it is doing great! Have since gone back and had a bottom replacement retainer made, and will be going back soon for a deep cleaning. Glad to be back at my home dentist! read more

I came for a consultation, had 2 kids with me (I had nobody to leave them with that day). First I sat in a lobby for 35 min, asked the front office, when I would be called, she said soon, but didn't seem to care. When I was finally called in , I had to sit another 20 min there, with my 3 month old baby screaming, nobody cared again, so finally after being at the office an hour I left. Seems like it's a normal wait time at that place...very bad customer service. They are trying to make money scheduling too many people, without caring of their patients' time. I cannot say enough good things about Dr Hanson! I have very cavity prone teeth and he never lectures me or makes me feel like a child when my teeth look bad! It was almost a year before he saw me last but he still remembered little details about me! He's mentioned twice now about how worn down my teeth are and recommended a night guard. He never pressured me to buy the $300 one from them and only gave me a quote when I asked for one, he recommended that I look at cheaper options before I drop $300 on one from the office. I recommended them to my mom when she was looking for a new dentist and she absolutely loves them! They get you in and out as fast as possible and the dentist is so kind and friendly! read more

I have been coming here for years now and I could honestly say this place is pretty bad. I've met some nice people but overall I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I always end up waiting 30 mins. after my appointment time to see a dentist. My regular dentist that I was seeing move on and the front desk couldn't even brother letting me know when I schedule a appointment. Dr. Lee Hanson bedside manner could use some work. Stay away!! The dentist, Dr. Reyes, is rude and inconsiderate!! She told two of my children that even though they were in pain they shouldn't be. She threatened to send my six year old son away if he didn't stop crying. He was being still in his chair, but he was crying and terrified because she hadn't deadened him properly. My 17 year old daughter, who has seen the dentist every six months and shouldn't have any serious dental problems was told she needed a root canal! I was trusting of their "professional" opinion and allowed it. The pain she was in was unbearable. She cried like a baby and this isn't normal for her. She has a very high pain tolerance. She remained in the dental chair SIX hours for the procedure. I regret trusting their diagnosis. The procedure WAS NOT necessary and to this day my daughter still has serious problems with that tooth. They are rude, greedy, and dishonest. Don't trust them and don't put yourself or your children through their abuse! Find a dentist that is trustworthy and cares about the customer! Stay away from Lakeside!!!!! read more

Loved it! I hadn't been to the dentist in years and needed a deep cleaning. I had heard horror stories about how painful it would be. On the contrary, It was not painful at all. I received a local anesthetic for pain and was alert during the process. I had minor discomfort a bit at times but not pain. Dr. Reyes and the hygienist were both excellent. They were attentive and gentle and did a wonderful job. My teeth were in terrible condition in some areas from tarter buildup and I was comfortable with my once beautiful and nearly perfect smile. The work they did on my teeth in cleaning them was the difference from night & day... !00% improvement. My teeth look great. I had NO bleeding at all after the procedure, not even that night. To date my gums haven't bled not once not even during flossing and they used to bleed during brushing, flossing and randomly. I am so pleased. I have another appointment in 3 months which I will not miss. I am taking excellent care of my teeth to prevent any future need for a deep cleaning but since it was necessary and if ever necessary again... I will definitely trust my teeth in the hands of Lakeside Dental... literally! Dr. Reyes and hygienist (wish I could recall her name) really perform quickly and painless dentistry with a smile and plenty of personality. I also took my toddler for her first visit and she had a great experience and will group under the care of Lakeside dental for all her dental needs.
