Charlotte Eye Ear Nose & Throat Associates, P.A. refuses to provide service unless they are allowed…read moreto copy your Drivers License as well as your insurance cards. Make no mistake, Medicare DOES NOT require your medicare card be copied, the HIPPA Act DOES NOT require your identification cards be copied, and many insurance companies DO NOT require that providers make physical copies of your identification cards. Allowing medical providers to copy identification cards puts citizens AT RISK for identity theft. It has happened to me. What IS required by the HIPPA act is that patients be positively identified. This requirement is easily and safely met by providing identification in person when requested at the point of service. Medicare and insurance companies require the POLICY NUMBERS associated with the patients, not that the card be copied. Coping the information does not enhance identification, but does raise the risk of it being stolen, especially when they request to copy BOTH SIDES of your drivers license and military identification card. They have captured all my medical insurance data (not copied the card, but entered the data into their system), and I provide identification as requested upon arrival to their office, yet they refuse to provide medically beneficial services because I will not allow them to make hard or electronic copies of by drivers license, military identification card or medicare card. Their excuse? "Well, it's just our policy" No federal, state, or local law or regulation (that I could find) REQUIRES medical providers make electronic or physical copies of patients identification papers. I believe they just do it as a matter of their convenience. They are doing a disabled veteran a disservice by not providing needed care. Do note that I am provided medical services by many medical providers, none of which have made copies of my Medicare card, military identification card, or drivers license card.

I have had Tinnitus for over 25 years. The high pitched ringing was always annoying but manageable…read more I knew some CBT, and applying that worked to manage the tinnitus invasion in my life. But there were still times the ringing would get extremely loud for periods then fade back down to my base level. In 2015 I went to an audiologist who tested dozens of hearing aids and sound therapies, and they ended up saying, "We're sorry, but there is nothing to help" me. Then, in 2025 it increased rapidly and drastically. I don't know what the trigger was, but it was not manageable at all. It began to invade my days to the extent that I felt like I was going crazy from it. I got depressed, anxious, and felt helpless. Then I read about a newly FDA approved Tinnitus treatment called Lenire. It works through bimodal stimulation. The more I researched, the more I knew I had to try it. Audiology and Hearing Services of Charlotte offered it! It was a brand new therapy and this is the only place in NC that offered it. The clinic is less than 6 miles from my house. I couldn't believe it. I went for testing, and my insurance required that I try hearing aids first, so I did. Of course that didn't help. Then we got the Lenire and I began treatments. I followed the 3 month program, guided by Dr. Karp, and it is nothing short of a medical miracle. Dr. Karp is so thorough, so caring and so patient. She went above and beyond for me, and through Lenire and CBT especially for Tinnitus, I can live again. If I have a flare, I do Lenire for a week (I own the equipment and can use it forever as required. It is important to remember the a treatment is not a cure) and I feel better again. I have Tinnitus, but it doesn't own me. It's just a thing I have that I can now deal with pretty easily. I couldn't have had this success without Dr. Karp, and I am eternally grateful. I recommend Dr. Melissa Karp with my heartfelt thanks.

I have never walked out of a doctor so upset..I DO NOT recommend bringing your child here…read more My son, 5, struggles with attention and focus. We went in to see Dr. Karp for some adp concerns. During the evaluation, my son was fidgety and struggled to stay focused (as we knew). Dr. Karp seemed to get agitated with his lack of attention. Once again, he is a five year old boy and is currently in the process of being evaluated for his attention concerns as well. At the end of the evaluation, Dr. Karp concluded that she could not diagnose him at the moment due to his lack of attention. She mentioned how he should be evaluated for his attention concerns and get that under control before we continued with further adp evaluations. However, the most upsetting part of this visit was not her addressing his lack of attention. It was her suggesting my son be medicated and then stating that he will not thrive in a regular classroom setting. She said that he should be in a one on one or small group setting and that he cannot get that in the public school system. I am fully aware that my son struggles with focus, which is a BIG reason why I was sent to see Dr.Karp. Do not get me wrong, I will happily do whatever is best for my son. However, as an educator, I know that lack of attention does not mean he needs to be in a special education one on one or small group setting to be able to thrive in school. Proud to say, my son is currently thriving in a general classroom setting. This was extremely unprofessional considering she saw my son for a 45 minute visit and ADHD is not her medical field. I was also very disappointed with the fact that she continued to evaluate him knowing that she was not going to be able to give me any answers but wanted to charge me the full $500 anyway. It was very misleading and a waste of time and money. As an educator and a mother, I am very disappointed in this visit.

They claim to have superb customer service - that is if you describe having the hearing aid center open only two days per week great service. I now have to wait for two days to get my hearing aids fixed, unless I can find another office open that can see me and I am happy to drive 15-20 miles to get service. I guess it is not important to them that I can't hear well for the next several days. Everytime I go into the office, I have to remind them that they haven't checked my hearing in quite a while (no follow-up from them). Everytime I go in there is a different person there. There is no continuity of staff at all. I know that I will probably have to replace my hearing aids, but I will absolutely NOT go back to Miracle Ear, because to me it is a Miracle they are still in business. All the different ratings sites don't even mention Miracle Ear, and many friends of mine who are seniors like myself, have gone to CostCo where they have audiologists, and if it is open, they are open. A much better system, and their aids are about half the price.
