Do not recommend these apartments! Renovations that seem to never end and poorly done at that, roach problem since moving in, cracks and holes throughout entire apartment, extremely thin walls(could carry a conversation with neighbors if i wanted to), and had a mouse inside that hid in the staircase cause there was gaps there. This is in building 5. Living in an apartment is very common to have roaches or any kind of bug but when they live in the cracks and holes in the kitchen, it should really be let known before you move in. Cockroaches have been reported to spread at least 33 kinds of bacteria, six kinds of parasitic worms and at least seven other kinds of human pathogens. read more

I've been living at Lakeshore for five years and it is a wonderful community to live at the office team is so much fun and they're so respectful. Any issues that I ever have are always addressed quickly, efficiently and with enthusiasm. The office team; Roshauna, Imelda and Jasmine are always so respectful and they always greet me with a smile. The buildings are infested with german cockroaches ... and I mean infested! And there is no decent or efficient attempt by management to fix the issue. Their idea to get rid of them is by coming one day out of the week, putting who knows what and where, and leaving a sheet that marks a box of completion. The infestation is so bad that they are in refrigerator, freezer, drawers, furniture, the bed and they are out during the day. (Roaches are generally night insects so if they are crawling about during the day, that says a lot.) A little bit of research on this specific roach: they carry food poisoning bacteria and staph on them and cause other health risks such as asthma, diarrhea, and allergies. In addition, where ever one goes the others follow that trail, as they drag certain pheromones and also feces. With that being said, they are extremely hard to get rid of because of their life cycle and like to hitch hike in bags, purses, etc. to be carried on to infest friends and families homes. So, with this information on this invasive type of roach, you would think management would handle this situation more seriously ... especially after the many times my family member went to them with these concerns. It is not handled appropriately at Lakeshore though. Proper treatment will allow you to visually see dead upside down roaches. Additionally, If proper treatment was even done to one apartment, the roaches crawl behind walls to another apartment to escape the traps, and the pattern continues until handled appropriately to the entire building. The 100-105 building was where the infestation occurred; and there are likely to be others at this complex. My family member had to stay a year due to contract, but would have moved out much sooner if they could, had they known they would have had to share an apartment with not hundreds, or thousands, but millions of roaches!! Before moving into any place, educate yourself and talk to possible neighbors. Couple other things I might add. When my family member moved in, on the very first day, I came back out to my car having all 4 wheels popped off and a key on my car saying that the parking spot was reserved. After checking with management, the covered parking is reserved, not uncovered. So, I did nothing wrong. Another night after coming over around 10 pm, as I was walking in the parking lot an unleashed dog that appeared to be a pitbull came charging at me and I was pinned in between cars with nowhere to go. The dog was friendly after greeting me thankfully, but its owner was not and attempted to aggressively hit on me. When I rejected, the intoxicated lady he was with got in my face and questioned me. I ran into the apartment after that. Keep in mind this type of place if you have kids or pets. Ps. It's been three months since my family member moved out of the complex and what do you know, the roaches traveled with them have made their home in two houses! What a mess. read more

"Worst Management(s) Ever" I have been staying at Lakeshore Apartments since August 2015 and the Management has changed three times since then. Yes you heard it right.. three times. I as a resident do not care about the change of Management. But, sadly what changes with the Management are the rules (and thats what affect residents the most). Managements since I moved in: 1) -- whatever the name was -- 2) Allen Harrison Company 3) Capstone Real Estate Services, Inc. Following are some of the personal experiences I had: 1) HYGIENE: The apartments are full of Bed Bugs, Flies and Roaches. Even if you get a new cleaned apartment (as they claim), you will start experiencing trouble in a week. And when you complaint about the same to the Leasing office, they provide a free treatment (of three Minutes flat) which is of NO USE. The treatment consists a guy visiting your house and putting few droplets at some corners, which does not solve your problem. And if you need additional treatments, you have to pay for each one of them :( 2) REFERRALS: This one is intersting, they came up with this "referral" thing few months back to get more people (especially the UH-Clear Lake students) to Lakeshore. The rule was "If you refer your friends to get an Apartment at Lakeshore, then you would end up getting a Referral bonus of USD500". Hence, we referred two apartments to Lakeshore. Everything went well until the time we were supposed to recive the first USD500 check. The first name was spelled wrong (as if intentionally). So, the Assistant Manager had to send it back to the Management to get it corrected. Its been three months since then and we still have not received the correct check. When we ask about it, the employees provide lame reasons like the "Management got changed" hence come back next week. This has been happening for over three months now. We end up visiting them every week and getting lame reasons. We are still waiting for the check. Now, regarding the second referral check, this time we were glad to get the correct name printed on the check. But, the amount was USD300 (and not USD500, as per the rule). We did confront the Manager about the same and ended up getting the same reason again "The Management got changed" (Seriously!?). We had to settle for USD300. 3) LAUNDRY/DRYER: When you do a Laundry each week, the Dryers are always out of Heat. And you end up with Wet Clothes almost 90 percent of time. And that costs you USD1.25 (5 Quarters) every time. That might not be more, but what you end up wasting is your Time. You have to wait 40 minutes for the Dryer every time. And they never fix it. The maintainance is quite poor. 4) RENT: Increase of Rent almost every two months. The Management starts imposing additional charges on you at the start of month. For example, this month on 1st we were charged with: Water/Sewer Reimbursement, Gas Reimbursement, Pest Control (which they never perform) and Trash Reimbursement (summed to: USD64.81). All these was charged at the start of the month when the rent was due. Hence, resident had to pay the entire amount along with rent in two days in order to avoid penalty. 5) POOL: Most of the time the Pool is closed (almost 70% of the time), and the rest of the days its NOT Clean. Hence, DO NOT get lured by the Pool images they show you on the website. It is NOT as clean as it looks. The maintainance is quite poor. To conclude, I am not sure about which are the best apartments in this area (Since, I have not lived in any other). It is better to investigate before moving into one. As per my experiences, please DO NOT choose Lakeshore Apartments (an advice especially for the UH-Clear Lake students). The Employees might lure you with all the benefits (like referrals and stuff), but belive me its all fake. DO NOT trust them. Try to find a better one with good and consistent Management. Thank You. Ever wondered how third world living would be? Then these are the apartments for you! Cock roaches that never end, despite the pest control "coming by." Water that is undrinkable so you must carry it from the local watering hole (Kroger). Cold showers are a regular occurrence as the hot water seems to go out at least three times a week. Cabinets that are falling apart and counter tops that everything magically gets glued to. No worries though, there are upgraded units available!! What comes with these wonder upgrades and a 20% increase in price you ask? Let me tell you! You get those old broken cabinets covered in a brand new and shiny laminate that's right, the exact same cabinets just covered up! Another amazing upgrade are their newly installed combination door locks. So simple and easy to use! The best part is when they change them and don't let you know until three minutes before the office close. It would have been very complicated to email the residents there combination and a security concern so I appreciate them not letting me know the code until the next day. The do have multiple emergency maintenance numbers, but those were never answered all night. Sleeping in my car when I pay rent was the best experience I've ever had. read more

New management is handling up on things. Brandy is the best person to talk to because she really knows what she's talking about. When we first moved in we heard that there was a bed bug issue a few months before and that they had spent a bunch of money to get rid of it and now there isn't any problems with that. We don't have any pest control issues but we're also very clean people. Our dog loves the area because of the Bay Area dog park nearby and I can walk to school and work. The apartment itself has the best layout, it feels open and homey. I would suggest it to my friends :) read more
