He accommodated all of our requests and treated our family with dignity and respect throughout the entire process. In such a difficult time, he truly made things easier for us. Ringa has been a longtime neighbor to our family in Long Lake, but I have no doubt they provide the same level of care and professionalism to every family they serve. Highly recommend without hesitation.

There are so many moving pieces and details that need to be coordinated in a very short amount of time and Andrew handled everything with exceptional class and care. He was also a few steps ahead of us at all times, anticipating our needs. When the pastor did not come to the cemetery with us, and we were left without a final reading before laying our loved one to rest, Andrew stepped in seamlessly. He had already chosen a reading based on a meeting he had with our loved one before she passed. His choice was perfect and deeply meaningful. Additionally, her hair and makeup were done in a very natural way that captured her essence, bringing comfort to our family. Ringa went way above and beyond by accommodating our loved one's last wishes and it made the farewell special and memorable for our family. It was truly a privilege working with Andrew and his Team.

Cathy is the owner and Carol is her right hand woman/manager. Like alot of us, we're not prepared for the end of our life or our loved ones. You might feel lost, confused and even befuddled. Cathy and Carol will 100% guide you properly and patiently. Saying "goodbye" to a loved one who's passed, is one of the hardest things humans have to go thru. Im still healing from the loss of my grandfather. It's been almost a year since l've been here and this is a long overdue review. One of the downfalls of loving someone so much is when they leave us, it's so much more painful and heartbreaking. Grief is love with nowhere to go. Drowning is an art of learning how to survive, be it in water or emotions. Northern Illinois Funeral Services helps you start the healing process. That's extremely invaluable for me. They say you get what you pay for, but here, they go above and beyond what's expected. Grateful for the two earth angels at Northern Illinois Funeral Service

Strang Funeral Home

Strang Funeral Home - Antioch, IL…read more If I could give zero stars, I would. My family just experienced the worst possible treatment from this funeral home during one of the most devastating nights of our lives. When my wife's father passed away, Strang Funeral Home was contacted. Instead of compassion, respect, or professionalism, the director, David, spoke to my wife in an unprofessional, condescending, and extremely insensitive manner. Not to mention he sounded extremely drunk and calling her back multiple times just to be an asshole. Rather than offering comfort or guidance, he insulted the other crematory we had chosen, belittled their services, and made unnecessary, arrogant remarks that no grieving family should ever have to hear. He came across as careless, dismissive, and completely lacking in compassion at a time when compassion matters most. No family should have to endure this kind of treatment in their most vulnerable moments. Funerals are about dignity, respect, and care for both the deceased and their loved ones. Strang Funeral Home, and David in particular, demonstrated none of these values. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a funeral home to look elsewhere. There are plenty of professionals in this industry who understand empathy and compassion. Sadly, Strang Funeral Home is not one of them.

Both my brother and I live far from Antioch and had separate phone arrangements with Mr. Moore, and he was surprisingly very rude. My brother spoke with David first, and did not tell me how he was treated, initially. Then I called the number my brother gave me (David's cell phone...of course he wouldn't belittle people on the funeral home's landline). That man was so insulting! I was in complete shock. We wanted a simple, private viewing for mom, with a maximum of 10 family members & close friends (small family). David badgered me about the quantity of persons, demanding that I make sure there will be no more than 10 persons attending. While we were speaking, it felt like this man hated me, though we had never met. The next day, after I had spoken with my brother and shared notes, I called David again and asked him to order a floral arrangement for mom with an easel, since mom had allocated $150 in her pre-plans for flowers. Well, you would have thought I had asked him to jump off a cliff for me - he literally yelled at me for inconveniencing him. I was so upset with this man, and I had to drive to Wisconsin the following day, for the viewing and to finalize the arrangements...I barely slept because of how he treated me. Fortunately, David assured me that he would not be present at the funeral home when I arrived, and he wasn't. My mom was physically cared for by a professional director named Jason Flade. Jason handled both mom's care and me with compassion and dignity. He made sure the viewing room was set up tastefully, and did a great job presenting mom. Mom passed away last July, and David still has me upset, apparently. When I saw this Yelp review option, I knew writing one myself was literally my duty. To anyone reading this - even if your loved one has funded preplans with this funeral home, go somewhere else. You can have your pre-plans transferred elsewhere. That is something most people are not aware of, and I wish we would have, even though Jason himself was top notch.
