I have no…read moreexperience with propane gas for household use as I lived in non-rural areas where there are natural gas lines, so I was shopping around for propane providers. I called FerrellGas and received a quote. They ran my credit and the price was too high, and something seemed "off." I told them I would shop around. The agent used her sales tactics, but I didn't fall for it. I never signed ANYTHING with them, nor did they ever come to my home. I just called to get a quote - that is all. I did my research and decided on another company. The other company arrived (on time) with their equipment and tank; very professional, nice and I was relieved to have hot water and gas. Shortly thereafter, I received a bill from FerrellGas. At first, I called my current propane supplier, and they said it was not them. I called Ferrell gas and they said I had their tank at my house, lol. I'm like, "What? I called to get a quote and I have your tank? When did you deliver it because I have propane service with another company." Absolutely Ludicrous. I said, "How can I have two propane tanks using two companies?" I have only ONE gas line and one company attached to it, and it is not them. They said they will send someone out to my home to check. I said, "Please do because it is difficult to conceal a huge propane tank on my property." A year later, I am STILL getting a bill from them after numerous calls to correct this. Each time, they would say, "Oh, I will talk to my manager." I DON'T HAVE YOUR TANK, and after this high-level of ineptitude, I do not Ever want your service. I ONLY CALLED TO GET A QUOTE. That's it! How do you deduce that I have your equipment by a just obtaining a quote? How do you not get this? Why are you sending me bills for service or equipment I never received, and never signed for? I am very close to getting a lawyer for all of these constant harassment over a service I never received or something they are trying to attribute to me. The incompetence of this company is off the charts. My last review on Yelp was in 2022. I usually do not write a review - even after a negative experience (which I have received from this company) due to my schedule, but calling them several times​ when I receive a bill, and no remedy, and ANOTHER recent bill a few days ago over a year later, this review is warranted and this is HARRASSMENT. SCAM.

I needed some help with a larger business sign for the outside of the building. After two attempts I finally got to schedule an appointment for a site visit. I accommodated their schedule since I was looking for a quick turnaround they had promised on the phone. As I was sitting waiting for our 9 am appointment I received a call that they would be late but still be there that day so the time was changed to 3 pm that day. I again waited for someone to arrive but received another call that they could not make it that day and offer to reschedule for another week. I asked if we rescheduled would we still be able to get the finished product in time. I was answered with a pause then a apology but they would fit me in for a visit that Friday morning and my install would be scheduled even without a final product. Thought the beginning of that call I felt forgotten by the end I felt like they were going to take care of me seriously. Friday came and Ben was there on time. He was very rushed but said that I will have the proofs and have a sit down to go over them by next Friday. He took notes and quick measurements. I received an invoice and payment expected prior to the proofs to be viewed. I later had to email him picture to match the style of my building since he did not do it at the site visit. I heard nothing so I called Thursday and set up my own follow up and proof viewing. However when I got there at 1 pm the proof was not done. He denied we had a meeting to go over the proof but said I would have them for the holiday weekend to go over. By 6pm that night I did receive an email with proofs but signs were nothing like we had talked about. The effort put into my project was maybe 5 mins of work. Awful experience overall.

    Last fall I took my boat to be winterized and that it had an engine issue. I was told they would…read moreassess and take it out on a lake to assure the work was complete. They contacted me and said it only needed a new prop. Also informed me the bilge pump needed to be replaced. I told them I would bring it in the spring. At that time the boat went into storage. This spring I immediately took it to Walatrom's to get the bilge replace along with 3 other services they recommended. I was told it was to be done in 4wks. After 4wks I was told the bilge had a loose wire and was repaired. They gave me a Spring set up but had no time for the additional 2 request. I pick up my boat and got it on the lake with no change in engine performance. I removed the prop they installed put on a different one and returned it. They informed me they NEVER take boats on a lake, they only test them in the barrel. When the manager look at my original invoice he saw where it was to be tested in the lake. They did return my money for the prop. I had been going there for years when they were Traverse Bay Marine and their service was exemplary. I will never go to Walstrom's again or recommend them to anyone.

This Yelp review is a masterpiece of "prior bad acts" evidence. It shows that Robert Whims has a documented history of abandonment, poor communication, and dismissive behavior. In the legal world, we call this a pattern of practice. Whims' letter to me failed employing "extortion" and "jail" to distract from the fact that he has no defense for his client's mechanical fraud. Hence, this Yelp review mirrors that aggressive energy, focusing on Robert's unprofessionalism and his phony "tough guy" posturing which masks a lack of legal substance. Mailbox Stalking "Attorney" with a History of Abandoning Clients Rating: SubZero. "If you are looking for an attorney who values professionalism, ethics, or basic respect for the law, keep looking. My experience with Robert ("Bert") Whims confirms exactly what other reviewers have warned about: a 'difficult personality' who substituted actual legal work with bizarre intimidation tactics. In my matter, rather than addressing a clear-cut case of mechanical fraud and a breach of Express Warranty (MCL 440.2313) by Bert's client, Bert chose to spend his time--and presumably his client's money--playing 'private investigator.' Bert actually sent me photos of my own residence and mailbox in an attempt to unnerve me. It was as 'creepy' as it was legally irrelevant. It seems Whims prefers acting like a cut-rate detective rather than a member of the Bar. Bert's communication style is exactly what other former clients have described: dismissive, aggressive, and devoid of professional courtesy. Instead of a legal defense, he offered ad hominem attacks and 'tough guy' posturing that would be embarrassing for a first-year law student, let alone a seasoned practitioner. It is no surprise to hear from his own colleagues in the Traverse City area that he is held in low regard and described as 'different' and 'difficult.' If he treats his paying clients like 'juice not worth the squeeze'--dropping them weeks before mediation after pocketing $10,000--imagine how he treats those on the other side of a desk. By including the detail about him taking pictures of your house, you make the review current and specific. This tells anyone reading this that Bert hasn't changed; he's still using the same "off" demeanor mentioned in the 2025 review. Reputational Friction: Mentioning that "his own colleagues" don't hold him in high regard is the most painful part of the review for a lawyer. In a small town like Traverse City, reputation is the primary currency. Cost Analysis: Bert is a "bad investment." By mentioning the "$10,000" and the "juice not worth the squeeze" quote from the previous client, WARNING to future clients that he will take their money and run = Fleecing. DMITRIY CHERKASOV volunteering as this next guinea pig. Berts phones are not ringing, or do so sporadically, at best. When the Traverse City news outlets (9&10 News, etc.) look up Bert after receiving my media alert, they will find these reviews. It builds a narrative that Whims is a "local problem." Next may be to draft a "Notice of Grievance" to the Michigan Attorney Grievance Commission? Taking photos of a party's private residence and mailboxes to "verify address" when an email/phone/letter sufficed can be argued as harassment and a violation of the Michigan Rules of Professional Conduct (MRPC 4.4)--which prohibits lawyers from using means that have no substantial purpose other than to embarrass or burden a third person. Whims is the type of lawyer who pounds the table because he can't pound the facts. If you want an attorney who stalks mailboxes instead of studying statutes, he's your man. If you want a professional, stay far away. Just say no to BERT.

I had zero BAC, no illicit substances, but had done a whip-it earlier in the day. Not only was I blamed for being violated by Mr. Cox, but he also refused to acknowledge the devastation that such an event would have on a survivor of childhood "Sxl" abuse. He led with a defence of "I made a bad judgment.". This was in 2019 and I am still suffering life-altering repercussions from pop'ing the clutch while parked and knocking over a trash can (that was the extent of my OWI).
