I came to Lake Shasta on my road trip with two friends up to Seattle. We stopped by here for a quick swim before heading further north.
Lake Shasta is a serene and beautiful man-made lake. There was hardly any people here, as it was mid-week. The weather was hot (over 90 degrees outside) and the lake water warm (around 70-80 degrees). The walk down to the water was lined with rocks, and it was hard to find a place to put our things, but the dip in the water was well worth it.
I highly recommend coming here for a nice escape from the day-to-day hassles that can stress you out. Skip out on work for a day. you won't be dissapointed.
I'm sure this place is mobbed during the weekends with boaters and swimmers. read more
