Coincidentally, I found Lake Pointe Running Trail by walking at Meadow Lake Park last week and discovered the walking trail in the Colony Lakes community. It is technically the "Town Center Lake Trail System" according to the map posted at the community pool house. But because Google Maps shows "Lake Pointe Running Trail", I had no choice but match it. Otherwise, Yelp won't add it.
This trail is broken into 2 loops. The west loop is surrounded by single family houses. The east loop is more in the businesses and apartments. They are not connected but just a small street apart. I usually park on the street by the pool, not the pool parking lot. I really don't want to trigger any trouble from the AOA.
The trails are fully paved. The width could vary, 4 feet to 6 feet. It is definitely a nice trail for walkers, runners and people strolling on wheelchair. But watch out for few areas such as buckled pavement, muddy pavements and gravel lined pavement. It can be slippery when wet. Some can be over slopped.
I enjoy walking here because people are friendly. The birds are pretty cool too. The fountains kept the area cool. Overall, it's an excellent location for walking. read more
