There's a wonderful picnic area and and plenty of spots for enjoying the views of the lake. The lake itself is good for swimming, boating, kayaking, or paddleboarding. It truly is a great spot for a little bit of everything. We enjoyed a wonderful walk around the park area and along the lakefront and made a note to come back another day for some on the water fun. They are popular and so parking nearby (though there's additional lots a distance away) can be difficult on a holiday (we tried on the 4th of July) but for a normal weekday or weekend, there's plenty of parking and plenty of space for fun. Little Muskego Lake offers a lovely oasis for recreation in the Milwaukee metro. Get to it!

There are swimmers, kayaks, fishermen, waterski users and boaters. It's a fun lake for fishing until the leisure boaters start zipping around in watercraft and jet skis. There's "no wake" zones for a reason and 80 percent of people seem to completely ignore the signs and buoys. If you see an anchored boat, give them a little space. And if you happen to be the random car that slowly drives through or parks in the middle of the boat launch with no regard to trailered vehicle, be aware of what's going on please. It's a hive of activity and I'm sure nobody wants to get hurt.

I took botany in college so I'm familiar with the most of plants in Wisconsin. So when I have scratching my head with unfamiliar flora, that means something. People swim, fish, letting dogs swim, pedal boating, swimming for open water companions, enjoying carefree outdoor activities in the park. It's wonderful place to relax and enjoy nature.

This time I came to test out the full expanse of the water with my paddle board. I came with my brother who had his kayak and fished. He caught a rainbow trout (and released). We stayed on the water for almost 4 hours - the water was nice and clean and it was busy but not crazy. The beach area was definitely a popular busy zone but most the people were in the designated swimming area versus the open lake. Just a great time and will be back! If looking to grab a spot on the dry land I would recommend arriving before 11am- that's when it started filling up more.

This beach is HUGE and vibrantly busy with singles, families, and groups soaking up rays and having fun. Need a cold beer? There's a tiki bar. Milkshake or hot dog? There's a snack pavilion. Dance party? Join the kids on the balcony of the bathhouse. No negatives other than parking, which is as nightmarish as a lot of the rest of Milwaukee.

It is within walking distance from where we lived during the early years of our marriage, and we were glad it looked well. It is named for the avenue directly connecting into it (which was named for two prominent brothers and businessmen in the 1840's).

For our purpose (kayaking), it's a no-go. It's has more of a pond vibe (both in size and wildlife) and just really isn't a good spot for kayaking (or paddleboarding for that matter). There are signs that say no boats (not sure if that includes kayaks). All in all, it's just not the best spot for it. There is a platform/dock that extends over the lake that we saw some folks fishing from it while we were there. There are a couple benches for sitting while fishing or you could easily bring your own chairs as well. I read that they stock the lake with fish so could be a nice spot for that. My dad is more into fishing from the banks and the foliage at the banks here makes this not the best spot for that either. That said it is a lovely lake and there's a pretty nice trail that extends around it that would be good for either biking or walking. We walked it while we were there and it doesn't take very long to traverse the entire loop around the lake and the views of the lily pad adorned lake were lovely. One note I'll make is that there was an unfortunate amount of trash in the lake near the doc which was such a bummer. But, beyond that sad note--a great spot for an evening stroll.

If I visit Bender Park in the evening, I've noted on multiple visits that certain drivers tend to speed recklessly through the parking lot. The other plus to Lake Vista is it does have a playground for kids, while Bender does not. Only other complaint is that the WE Energies plant to the south is a bit of an eyesore in an otherwise scenic location.

My favorite things about Sheridan- -Oak Leaf Trail paved path runs through it, for biking, running, walking! -Pond for fishing is stocked w/rainbow trout (confirmed in 2021) Bass, perch, bluegill, koi/carp also can be found in the pond -Lake Views from high bluffs are outstanding, and sunset watching at Lunham/Bottsford Ave bend is popular -Walking paved trail down to Lake access -Picnic areas Sheridan also has a swimming pool with slides, bball courts, tennis courts, softball and hardball diamonds, a playground, a few reservable picnic areas, as well as plenty of land for your own pop-up. Sheridan Park is not as glamorous as other MKE County Parks, but it provides a lot of resources and opportunities to improve the lives of the local community, and that's a great strength!
