I would give this location 10 stars if I could. Located in the heart of the village, I knew this was a must-visit given my love for good spirits and, in particular, bourbon. The distillery is a comfortable and friendly place to be. It is a simple bar on one side and a display selling their spirits to take home on the other. The bartender was incredibly friendly, made great recommendations, and struck up a very nice conversations. Other patrons were also kind, polite, and friendly, offering suggestions for things to see and do during our stay. The top shelf bourbon, standard bourbon, apple pie moonshine, sweet tea moonshine, and rye whiskey were all incredible. Needless to say, we left with a few bottles... I recommend taking advantage of the flight, as you get to try three top-shelf hand-crafted spirits and you get to keep the Lake George Distilling glass! Visiting here in the Fall, stopped in and were pleasantly surprised. Fun place and they had various unique liquor flavors and bourbon. The nice hostess said they had a special where you could get 3 tastings and a glass to keep for a price and there is a nice little area for your tastings. read more

We were visiting the area and stumbled across this place. It is family owned and they do everything. We met Rachel who was working that day. She is very friendly and explains each product and what makes it unique. I had two favorite things that I tasted. I tried the Cinnamon Whiskey. If your a fan of Fireball you will love this. It is smoother and not as sweet as Fireball, but same intensity you will not be disappointed. The next item I had was a Wildberry Moonshine Slushie. It was sweet and refreshing definitely would be good on a hot day. My husband did a sampling of products he tried the Apple Moonshine which he said was fantastic. We love a good tasting & this place had a great deal for $5 dollars we got to try 3-4 different moonshines / whiskey's & u get to keep the shot glass as a souvenir. we gave the Lemonade & Sweet tea whiskey a try both very good nice & strong taste , the Bullhead Bourbon & Adirondack wildfire were good as well nice taste .. The 32 Mile Moonshine was WHOA .. lord this was strong as well as it should be considering it's 100% proof not for the faint .. man I had to drink some water after that! In the end we bought a bottle of the Adirondack wildfire since the gentleman behind the counter suggested it be great to add to hot chocolate specially during the winter & he was right , we tried this later on & niceeee. I came by here the other day to do a tasting with my boyfriend. We both tried three different bourbons. I tried the bullhead bourbon, the Indian smoke and a lemonade one. My favorite was the bullhead bourbon, which I bought a bottle of for about $28. My boyfriend tried the apple pie twice and the wild fire. After the tasting we got our two shot glasses for free! They are sturdy and super cute. The location is nice and the place is so clean. Has a cabin vibe to it. They are also open all year around. They were pretty understaffed but the person behind the bar was quick and attentive. Even though there was a lot of us in there. Will be returning to this location to grab some more distilled stuff! On vacation and a friend and I spotted this place. Stopped in. Perfect place to try on a vacation. Something I probably wouldn't make time back home. We both did the $8 3 sampler which came with a free shot glass. I am by no means a moonshine or Bourbon expert but I like the three I tried which were Lemonade, apple pie and regular Bourbon. This review is for the Lake George Distilling tasting room located on the main strip of touristy Lake George, NY, only a few minutes walk from the water. *** Lake George Distilling features a short list of exciting, interesting whiskies, gins and bourbons from which you can sample from and then buy in larger quantities. *** The tasting room isn't huge but the location is absolutely prime. There's a single bar in a narrow room with shelves lining the walls that are filled with bottles of their various products along with a few tote items. It's what you'd expect from a distillery tasting room. Quiet (unless it's evening time in the summer, when I'm sure the place is absolutely filled up). It's bright inside and quite clean. Not at all a bar type of atmosphere, but closer to the feel of a small, specialized and select winery-- a good spot for some quiet conversation and for sipping some high-quality spirits. *** I came with a friend, and we both did tasting flights that entitle us to try four items. As the menu only lists nine items as of June 2017 and we shared our tastings, I was able to have a sip of eight of the nine menu items. We skipped the Sweet Tea because it's Sweet Tea. Here's what I though of the items that MUST be tried: *** The "You can't leave the place without trying these" items: (1) Red Rock Rye- Simply stellar. Smooth, easy, bold. 100-proof. Barrel-aged. 90% rye, 10% malted barley. This is what I would've bought a bottle of if I hadn't spent all of my available funds on wine earlier that afternoon. (2) Adirondack Wild Fire- 70 proof. No sugar added. Uses real cinnamon. Considered buying this as well. (3) Indian Kettle Smoke- Grain that has been naturally smoked. *** The "cool to try, but would never buy a full bottle" items: (1) 32 Mile Moonshine- Will certainly get your blood boiling. Not recommended for empty stomachs. Heartily recommended if you're heading to Duffy's biker tavern across the street. (2) Apple Pie- This was what I was originally most excited to try here. Didn't really live up to expectations. I savored it, but wasn't really feeling it. It was the first item I tried. *** Don't bother: (1) Bull Head Bourbon- Alcohol for the sake of alcohol. Didn't stand out to me, taste-wise. (2) Lemonade- Why? Are you running a 25-cent lemonade stand? This is only marginally better. Reminder: the menu items here are as of JUNE 2017 and MAY CHANGE. In that case, you may have some options that I didn't have. *** Four stars because I had a nice time, it's unique and interesting, and the service was strong. On the other hand, there aren't a ton of options to try and the tasting room manager didn't seem to know all that much about the distill process-- at least he didn't let it on openly during our tasting. *** Looking forward to coming back next summer when I attend the Adirondack Wine Festival once again. read more

We went up to the bar where we got to sample three different types of bourbon whiskeys. for the low low cost of $6 we were given a shot glasses and some healthy swings a fiery bourbon. Surprisingly my wife did not like her Bourbon and I ended up drinking hers as well as mine. Even more surprising I didn't get drunk! the two guys at behind the bar or excellent. They offered us descriptions of the different Bourbons gave us an extra sample taste of one of them. and because my wife didn't end up liking any of the Bourbons they didn't even charge her money! We ended up giving them a healthy tip and had a really good time sitting there chatting with the two guys. Went twice this weekend and have been a few times previously! The lemonade and apple pie moonshine are great- but the wildfire is my favorite. Always friendly, clean, the guys behind the bar will tell you about lake George and give info. All around fun. Pro tip- start here at the distillery, walk down to Adirondack winery for a tasting, and end at Adirondack brewing for dinner...all on the same side of the road and within walking distance to work off that liquor! We stopped here after the Lake George Winter Carnival- just as people were starting to come up from the lake to get warm so it wasn't crowded when we first got there, but the people pouring in when we left was CRAZY! We had 8 people in our party- 4 kids. All of the bottles are up high, so thankfully there wasn't a concern of them knocking the bottles over. I will say that there is a shelf that is really close to the front door that several of us almost knocked over. I tried the Bullhead Bourbon, the Wildfire Whiskey and another whiskey they had available. Everything was good, but not fantastic. Other people in my party wanted to purchase the Lake George Lemonade, which they did not have any for sale, even though it was offered for the tasting, and not relayed to us that it was not for purchase. I was very surprised there wasn't a vodka to try on the menu, because I am a vodka drinker. They did have some for sale but it wasn't listed on the tasting menu which was disappointing. The website said they were closed so we were very excited to see that they actually were open. They were all great. Prices for the bottles were reasonable and we ended up buying 3. They maintain safety by placing clear walls between parties. Sanitizer and cleaning products are visible. Came in to check out their handcrafted liquors. Several options with natural ingredients. $5 tasting of there different selections of their list of whiskeys and moonshines. Tim was very knowledgeable in every one of their liquors and was able to even suggest the order we should try them in to get the best experience out of the tasting. He was very friendly and kind and made our experience great! They sell different types of liquor by the bottle in liquor stores, and would love to try them when possible! Had a great time today stopping into LGD! I'm a rye lover so that's where I started. Really smooth & delicious, even for 100 proof! I don't generally appreciate bourbons but I can imagine the serious vanilla of their bullhead complimenting & making a mean cocktail! The 4 stars here are primarily for the staff. They are a good group and we have fun in the tasting room. Their best product offering - as they cannot offer some of their items (farm to table laws) - is the Red Rock Rye. A better eye bourbon than you may be used too from small distillery. read more

This is a great place, we found it by accident while walking along Canada street, we just came from a wine tasting but decided to grab something to eat quickly and returned to try the whiskey, we were a group of 4 and sat at the bar immediately, the ambiance is nice the bar is where you can have the tasting or just a drink, all their stuff is homemade, I even saw some vodka and gin, they also had an IPA on tap and some wine from the winery as well but we came for the whiskey tasting, really you can't beat it for $5 you get to taste 3 whiskeys (half shot) and you keep the shot glass, they have a great assortment from moonshine to bourbon and even flavored ones such as apple pie and lemonade, they were all good but the sweet ones were too sweet for my liking, the staff is all great and are very knowledgeable of the different types and the processes, we also had the to go slushies another day, the mango one was great, they have all the stuff for sale as well as merchandise, I love this place, really it's great and a gem read more
