In response to Isabelle G's review:…read more At what point in history did our society reach such a low where one person could slander and accuse another person's character without any repercussions, all in the name of righteousness? In a Court of Law one repeating what others have said or seen is called Heresy. Yet you so easily throw this lady under the bus without a shred of hard evidence. Please provide the links to the two 2015 Articles in NOLA.COM so I can read for myself. Your righteous indignation is so lofty, did you at ANY TIME go to this lady yourself and inquire if these accusations were true? Are you aware of Matthew 18:15, which states very plainly, "If your brother sins, go and show him his fault IN PRIVATE; if he listens to you, you have won your brother." I can find nowhere in scripture where it says, "If your brother sins, go and POST ON THE INTERNET FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE FOREVER AND EVER." You should be ashamed of yourself for putting something like this on the Internet. If God forbid the accusations were true, I would hope that her family and her Christian Family at Church and School could help and assist her, NOT humiliate her by posting on the Internet her short comings. I'm so happy to know that you are so Perfect and Sinless. Maybe I can be lucky enough to be able to stand behind you on the Day of Reckoning before our Lord and Maker. That way I'll have a front row seat when you are struck with a lightening bolt for your thoughtless and self-absorbed "act of kindness" for all to see on Yelp! If I were this teacher, I would take legal action against this Isabelle G and the other parents for invasion of privacy and defamation of character.

Many of OLL (not LOL) faculty and staff are homeowners in Old Mandeville, which helps form a stable and secure environment for the little ones. Speaking of faculty and staff I am extremely blessed to live on the same street as this sweet, loving, VERY dedicated, mother, wife, and religion teacher. Did you know that she even has a statue is her front garden to honor our blessed mother? What more could a school ask for in a religion teacher? It's an all out crab war!

By sending your child here, to Lake Castle, you are setting them up for self-esteem issues…read more Although the selling point is academics, you most probably have a child that is very smart to begin with. The teachers here will break them down, and not in a good way. My child as a first time preschool student was experiencing bullying from teachers starting on her first day, from no introduction, constant yelling and belittling. They do not get recesses, only sometimes a PE class. Neither the small kids nor the bigger kids can talk in class, at all. There is no social time excluding a small lunch. The teachers will smile in your face and act as if they're family, but once you leave their kids with them it's more of cult like culture behind closed doors. You are not allowed to enter the classrooms after the meet and greet. For small kids that cannot communicate well, it's even more difficult for them to tell you how their day was. They can't express just how terrible it is for their mental health and character to not be able to have a outlet all day. Even if you see the older kids in the morning, you can tell how meek and scared they seem. The teachers get a joy out of talking down to the kids starting from the first day. I'm so glad I pulled my child out before she could experience psychological issues at such a young age. My child was able to go on to a local preschool, and is thriving. The same assignments that were given there are given at this school. The programs they use, you can very well use at home, and your child will still thrive. The teachers are much nicer, my child is much happier. Think twice before sending your child here.

Unhappy to say, I attended this place for seven years before returning to a much higher quality…read morepublic school, in a higher-quality state, I might add. There's a common misconception that private schools provide higher quality education than public ones; I can safely refute this. The one thing I knew the school to do well was English, but two of my teachers in this field were very ill-equipped and unsuited for their positions, as were several others who were the only teachers they could find (read: keep through the good ol' boy system) for a particular subject. To be fair, I enjoyed my first few years there, being young and impressionable, believing the A Beka curriculum's anti-evolutionary pseudoscience (and worse, their blatantly anti-Catholic stance, and I know several Catholics that went there!) to be irrefutable. Those first few years, the band program was in excellent shape, which was about the only credible music activity, other than Pioneer Sound, in which you had to be able to sing AND dance (there was no choir, go figure). Then it went downhill my 9th grade year, when we had a change of band directors; the band, I soon came to realize, was my source of enjoyment there. (I hear it has improved tremendously in the ten years since I left, thankfully.) But my ill feelings about the place never recovered. In addition, you must remember that this school was founded as a response against integration in the 1970s, and some of my worst memories surround the unabashed expressions of racism among many (not all) of the 95% white population. Second, the overtly religious assemblies gave way to a herd mentality, almost cult-like. Third, this school is run by ultra-conservative Christian fundamentalists, so there is no room for dissenting opinions. If you do, at best you're frowned upon and subject to incessant gossip; at worst you're sent home with a note to your parents threatening expulsion. Even my still-very-conservative parents noted this and have a negative opinion of the school to this day. Bottom line: If you're looking for a school that encourages critical thinking, diversity, and Christian LOVE, this place is not for your children. Please save them the misery that I endured while attending.

I'm not sure if the education has been improved or not, but I spent my last years at high school here and it did not leave me prepared for college. Lucky I had enough schooling before I started this school. I've heard that the public education at McComb high school would have been better, but I was already having growing pains being in the South and finishing high school there.

We know a lot of the other familys now that they been in the system for so long. So its a comfort thing. There is a new big gym lovingly called "The Deuce" because it is the second version of the bldg. Not cause it looks like a deuce. Like most private schools, it is busting at the seams with attendance. Every year the classes get bigger and the parking and pick up and drop off get crazier. This school's big fund raiser event is called Cajun Fest. Like other schools fairs, they will have a few local favorites like Chee Wees or Molly Ringwalds or Amanda Shaw along with the in-school in-parish band. Then there is all the cookie dough sales, the Worlds Finest Chocolate sale, endless Weekly Reader book fairs and something else I cant remember. Only thing they haven't done that I used to sell was fruit cakes. I actually liked them. But I digress. This school isn't really any better than others I have seen in the same grades, what I am paying for is better parents. Not teachers. Parents. Parent teacher nights here are waiting in line outside the classroom , parking lots are full. Parent teacher nights at a equivalent public school, those are typically empty. Better parents mean better students. Teachers are not supposed to raise your kids, only teach. That is why I break off $800 in my butt every month to ensure they get the best education without distraction, without fear of a crazy pajama wearing momma come in shooting because the teacher sent a note home that her child should take a bath and brush her teeth one day. I do enjoy this school and attending the church and all events like the annual fish fry during lent. Its a great opportunity to reconnect with those we only see in the gym and dropping off in the car pool line. All the teachers and the principal are very nice and somehow, know each of the students name. I seen it and I don't know how they do it. They do care here.
