JCC Aqua Fit program has been declining for months. Suggestions by members to increase classes,…read moreupgrade equipment and replace instructors are ignored. Since the hiring of a new CEO a couple of months ago, several aqua fit classes have been canceled so the pool can be used for swim lessons for the child care center and summer camps. This has especially impacted the seniors who joined the JCC specifically for the low impact benefits of water aerobics. Since summer camps, swim lessons and pool parties generate significant income, It seems that the financial bottom line is more important than addressing membership in the "community center." Too bad, the aqua fit program affects at least 50 members who are the active adults who use the facility daily. Do not join for the aqua program right now. Hopefully we will be heard in the future and classes will be restored.

Re: COVID-19 operations and safety practices…read more I gotta slow clap for y'all because I am loving the new implementation of the appointments online and how serious the JCC is taking COVID-19. Members of JCC Uptown are able to book appointments up to three days in advance for one hour block sessions. Everyone has to wear a mask upon entry and get your temperature checked. Per their constant email communications all members must arrive ready to workout (lockers are only available for bathrooms so no showers or storage purposes) and bring in your own towel and water bottle. They allow no more than 7 people at a time in the cardio room and around 8/9 in the weights room. Within the cardio room every other machine is shut down to practice social distancing. You'll also find plenty of marked disinfected and used cleaning sprays so you can wipe your machine before and after. Their team also cleans the machines CONSTANTLY. Like I seriously would get off the cardio machine wipe it down, just to then see them wipe it down again themselves. I feel safe coming here and appreciate there isn't a crazy occupancy capacity happening right now. TAKE MY MONIES. *Just know you will have to sign a waiver the first time you initially go during COVID-19, because liability and lawsuits ya know...

My daughter is THRIVING here and is so excited to come to school that she runs down the street, through the gates, down the hall, and immediately to her classroom. Joining this school was like joining a Hogwarts house - we didn't join a school, we joined a vibrant community. Many of my daughters classmates have had all their relatives go to school here, the ties run deep! They have so many ways to get involved, socialize, and fun events that it feels like I joined a club or sorority. I run into parents from my daughters class outside of school often and I no longer feel like a stranger to New Orleans, but a welcomed member of my new community. Being a part of this school has been my favorite thing about New Orleans so far. Also, I love the outfits, the logo, and the breathtakingly beautiful grounds. The best schools in Salt Lake City (and the competing schools in the area) can't hold a candle to this place. Worth every penny. P.S. Of the Hogwarts Houses, this school would be Gryffindor. ;)

This is the first "daycare" my child has ever been to in his life and he started at 2 and a half…read more I've been able to keep him home with me since he was a newborn since I work remotely and have had family help throughout my work days. But now that he's getting older, he needs more stimulation and more activities and more interaction than just being at home with family. So I decided to put him here, part-time. He goes here two days a week And this child development center has been a game changer for him. His speech is getting better, he's learning new words and phrases, and he loves all of the activities and playtime that is scheduled every day that he gets. This place is a little pricey, as it is almost $900 for two days a week, but I can walk there from my house, which is very convenient and he's not even a mile away from me while I'm working, which is important to me. So if there's an emergency, any flooding anything that would make me nervous about him being away from me, I can literally get to him very quickly and pick him up. This place is very much recommended as they are very secure, there is a code you must enter to open the door and they have armed police officers on the property for pick up and drop off. The teachers are very sweet and all of the administrative staff seem to know every child and parent by name. Highly recommended if you are willing to pay for the extra amenities. Oh, and I almost forgot, one of the best things that they have is an actual app where they send a push notifications when their diaper is changed, when they eat and what they eat, and when they take a nap. So you're able to see what your child is doing while you're away.!! And at the end of the day, they give you a detailed report of what activities they did and how they contribute to their developmental progress AND they add pictures of your child doing the activity!!

Can't recommend Kidopolis enough! Our daughter attended from 18 months - 2 years and the only…read morereason we left is that we were able to get into a daycare much, much closer to our house. The staff here was great - they are very up to date in the technology they use. Check-in is quick and easy via computer at the front door, security is tight - there are security officers at the entrance to the parking lot and entering the facility required a code entered into a keypad. The classrooms are well kept up, clean and picked up at the end of each day. I found the teachers to be warm, excited to see the children, and willing to give extra attention when needed. One of the things I really liked was the app they used to post updates throughout the day - meals, diapers, naps and pictures were posted to keep you updated on what your child was doing every day as well as provide drop-off and pick up alerts. In her 6 months there her vocabulary grew immensely, she started learning letters, counting, colors and animals. I felt they were teaching her and not just watching her while I worked.

He absolutely loves Amigo Ames and looks forward to going to school everyday. The staff is very friendly, and they follow a curriculum so your child actually learns something. After the morning "class" they have lunch and get to play outside. Not only am I paying $100 less in tuition a month than what I would at his previous daycare, but I also paid $10 less for each of his uniform shirts. He's very happy w/ the change and the only thing I wish is that I would have enrolled him here from the beginning instead of making a switch so far into the "school" year.
