Two stars because we pushed back our reservation twice without hassle, and was welcomed with a pleasant greeting, and smiley face. The condiments on the table were sticky- as well as the chairs. Unfortunately, this in-house restaurant has been on a downhill trend for several years (while the price has been going up). As local Alexandria residents, we have other options for our Sunday brunch. Most of the resort guests are probably considered a captive audience. You would think that Radisson Corporate would have some degree of quality control but, this obviously is nit the case. In particular the buffet offerings are always the same: soggy waffles and overdone omelets the highlight used to be the sausages but they were downsized last year. We are off to investigate other options. read more

Horrible experience all 3 times we have ate there. We kept thinking it would be better the next time. Service was so slow...just for water and a menu. After waiting for 45+ minutes, the food was not restaurant worth. More of a cafeteria level. Will not return. They need new management and more servers. Went to dinner with a group of friends. We had a reservation, but they did not seem prepared to deal with a large group. Service was unimpressive, food came out slow, and when it did it was not hot. Food was ok, but nothing to go back for. Server did not come to refill water or to check to see how our meals were. Really, for the cost of the meals I had expected more. Arrowwood is the centerpiece of the Alexandria hospitality industry. This is a fantastic facility with attentive staff. Unfortunately the place is starting to show its age. At a mid-range hotel the unmaintained details would not merit mention, but in a place that aspires to be the best (and charges rates that invoke those expectations) they bear notice. I still recommend Arrowwood, but the time has come for the management to invest more time and money in upkeep and improvement. read more

Ate here last night before a work event today. Had the Parmesan crusted walleye and it was delicious. The wild rice soup before the meal was outstanding, too. Service was good and view was fabulous. House Pinot grigio was fair Overall good experience. read more

Tried the Friday night pasta bar and was pleasantly surprised. Two noodles and sauces to choose from. Tons of additions including vegetables, chicken, beef, and seafood. They also have rice with ingredients to make a custom stir-fry. Desserts were good and they have ice cream with toppings. Overall, really good meal. read more

We stumbled across this place at our hotel. We were seated immediately, however soon realized it was a little chaotic in there. There was a pasta bar that almost reminded me of a Mongos experience if you have ever been there. Anyways, after we were seated the waitress finally came over and took our order. My husband and I ordered the pasta bar and the kids were having good old mac n cheese. However when we got up to go get in line we realized the line was extremely long and we didn't think two toddlers were going to be patient enough to wait.. We were thinking it was a good 20 minute wait to get through the line. So we asked one of the waiters to go find our waitress so we could just order from the kitchen. So about 15 minutes went by and not only did we not see our waitress but we hadn't even gotten our drinks yet. It was extremely disorganized looking to me. So I flagged down another worker and basically told her we were about to walk out and find somewhere else to eat.. And explained the situation to her. She apologized, took our order and found our waitress. From that point on we were pretty much treated like royalty with fast and pleasant service along with a few freebies. I will say the portions are huge. So either bring an appetite or be prepared to bring some home. Other than that the food was mediocre and probably not worth what we paid.. The inside experience was terrible!!! We were seated by the host, the waited 25 minutes until getting up to tell someone we didn't even have water. Oh FYI there were two other tables and it was far from busy. Then waited WAY TOO long for our food!! Waiting even longer after completely our meal to pay, which we had to just get up from table and go to the host stand. Spoke with the manager and all that was done for this huge inconvenience and poor service was"sorry about that". Will not be going back for the indoor dining experience. read more

Service was very bad considering that they were not busy. In reading past reviews, some say the same thing whether it's been three months ago or three years. Waited for a waiter to take our order. Food was mediocre at best. Had to ask for more water. We felt like we were an inconvenience to their night. If this poor service continues, does management just ignore reviews? read more

Mother's Day celebration ruined. Terrible service. Waiter was slow, inattentive and unapologetic. Our dining "experience" took 2.5 hours. We arrived hungry, waited for 1.5 hour for 4/6 meals and the other two meals arrived after more than 2 hours waiting. One of the extra-delayed meals was for my hungry and cranky two-year old son. Try explaining sub-par service to a toddler. Very disappointing. We usually dine at the Lake Cafe every Mother's Day weekend - never again. read more

Unfortunately, we didn't get the opportunity to try this establishment. We had 7 o'clock reservations for outdoor seating, when we showed up we were told it would be a long wait, as they seated a group a head of us. So, we went to another establishment. I guess what's the purpose of the reservation, if the Restaurant can't honor it. read more

Had lunch there since we were at the resort. Wish we would've just gone back to the townhouse instead. We were freezing because they seated us by the air exchanger. The buffet was so so. The salads were iceberg lettuce and bad tomatoes. The fun thing is that kids can get a kiddie cocktail with their meal. If you really don't want to leave the resort its an option but dont' have high expectations. read more
