There isn't a lot of room to get around especially if someone is blocking the aisle. And each section is loaded with so much stuff that it takes awhile to view it all. This week I made a trip to Pix Shoes in Louisville, KY to find a hat for a special occasion. I…read moreneeded a navy blue hat. Hat or fascinator? What was the occasion? What kind of outfit would I be wearing, dressy or casual? After giving the store owner the information, she immediately went around the store pulling every navy blue hat on display. Then, she went to their stock room and found even more. I was overwhelmed. Then I was asked if I might be interested in any shoes. I wear a size and width that is unavailable in most stores and can only find them at Stout's Shoe Store in downtown Indianapolis, or at Zappos online. She recognized the brand name of the shoes I was wearing and said she had a pair of the same brand on the shelf. Unfortunately, it was a pair that I already own. Then she and her husband set out to find at least 5 more pairs of shoes in my size and width. What is the superlative to overwhelmed? I left the store with 3 hats and a pair of shoes that sell for more than twice what I paid. Needless to say, I will be returning to Pix Shoes on Preston the next time I visit Louisville.
