I did a prescreen with Mary and had two sessions with her. All seemed well, until I saw that she…read morehad overcharged me. Her deductions from my HSA did not match what she was billing my insurance. Plus there was an $80 discrepancy between the two visits. I asked her to please explain why that might be several times. She neglected to provide an explanation. I spoke with my insurance, and they told me to ask her for a bill and to not allow her to personally deduct from my HSA. My private practice is located near the Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle. In my therapy practice, I help people who have problems like depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorders, dual diagnosis (mental health plus substance use problems), and psychological issues related to chronic pain and chronic illness. I also see people who are having difficulty adjusting to changes in their lives, and I work with with couples for relationship counseling. I accept many insurance plans, including Regence Blue Shield, Premera Blue Cross, most other BCBS plans, LifeWise of WA, First Choice and Medicare. I also bill other insurance companies as a courtesy to my clients. Because it is so important that the relationship in therapy be a good fit, I often begin with a free 15-minute consultation that implies no obligation to continue. I hope to hear from you.
