However, once it arrived, the lack of understanding with regards to how to grade the subservice base was bad as the "install team lead" had no idea about allowing for settling of the base. Supervision and leadership was severely lacking. The company promised follow up and fall/spring maintenance which has never occurred and no contact with the Owner/manager of local company has been non-existent. I had asked for assistance with levelling of the base as certain areas had settled. The owner said they would be able to do the work in April, 2026, and have yet to hear a word from him. No surface maintenance, no call-back, not a single word. I have been forced to look for someone else to help me with establishing a smooth playing surface of which I paid over 25,000.00 for with promises that have NEVER been fulfilled. I always want to support local companies but have continued to be bitten in the ass by lack of professionalism and integrity. This whole experience with SYNLawn has forced me to never recommend this company for "Intricate, precise" work that is needed with certain projects. If all you want is an artificial lawn and don't mind substandard work (in and out and on to the next job) then you can have them but don't expect true professional craftsmanship with an eye for detail. When the turf arrived, Tyler and Danielle showed up the following afternoon and wrapped up the next day. I requested new artificial turf in place of a small patch of grass in front of our townhome, and re-leveling of the pathway that had settled poorly since construction. When all was said and done, the turf looked great and the pathway looked like new with everything level across the board. The estimate wasn't the cheapest option, however the explanation provided as part of the estimating process was top notch and I was confident that that level of detail in the estimation process meant that the work would be done with that same attention to detail and this turned out to be true. I've seen a lot of poor turf installations in my neighborhood and I'm confident that the turf will look great for years to come.

We originally were not going to write a review at all, but after several hours of cleaning up the…read morecarnage that they left after we fired them we are too angry not to advise others exactly what to expect if they choose to hire Simple Lawns/Services for their landscaping . Nick, the owner, talks a great talk but that is all it is - just talk. We signed an agreement to clean up (level the yard, stump removal) and re-landscape our front yard, including some masonry work. Labour costs were to be $12,000, and we were purchasing mostly everything ourselves (dirt, mulch, plants, bricks, etc). He said the entire project would be completed within 1-2 weeks. The very first day no one showed up. After that, we were lucky to get 2-3 of his crew here by noon and the average number of hours they would stay each day was 4 (and that is being generous). The crew, while polite, were not efficient and did not seem to know what they were doing. They had faulty equipment that my husband would have to assist them in repairing. We provided them with gas to power the equipment when they ran out as they never had extra, and a few times we had to provide them with tools they required but failed to bring. On several occasions the workers would be here for an hour then leave as they were called away on an "emergency". They spent an inordinate amount of time chatting with each other, texting on their phones or sitting in their trucks. They were totally and consistently unorganized. Every day they left a huge mess - tools left where they dropped them, no tarps used to capture excess dirt or mulch, dirt/mulch spayed all over the fence, etc. More than once we brought these issues up with Nick, expressing our frustrations and yet nothing changed. Finally, 5 full weeks into the 1-2 week job, with at least another 2 weeks of work yet to go, we fired them. We had already paid $12,000 in three instalments, and Nick wanted another $3,000+ as the labour costs ran over - we refused to pay this. Based on the number of crew/hours worked they must be the highest paid labourers in town. In summary, Simple Lawns/Service is an unprofessional, unorganized, unskilled company. We should have been much more careful when researching local landscaping companies - that was our mistake. Our advice - DO YOUR RESEARCH.
