I've been seeing eye surgeons since 1980! in 1987, I had an implant put in my left eye, however, my eye rejected it. In 1988, I received a cornea transplant in total I've had 13 surgeries on my left eye. Yesterday , I had a cataract removed from my right eye. The treatment I received was awesome. The nursing staff & Office Staff, were professional, friendly, attentive, helpful and most of caring. Dr. LaHaye, is top notch and easy to communicate with. Terrible experience. Paid out of pocket over $200 and waited almost an hour and a half to see the dr to discuss a specific surgery they have listed on their website only to be told they do not perform the surgery. When speaking to them leading up to the appointment and during intake I said multiple times I only booked the appointment as a consult for a specific surgery, and not once did they mention they don't perform the surgery. At the end of it the dr came to the front and said I should be at least partially refunded since I had to pay for a full new patient exam that I didn't need and came for something specific that they don't do but is included in their website, and they offered a whole $30 refund. I knew someone who worked at LaHaye Total Eye Care and the lack of empathy from most of the workers there is astonishing! There are a few nurses who constantly talk behind their coworkers backs and my friend was no exception! LaHaye Total Eye Care is filled with toxic people and should be shut down! read more

First let me say that I would post a zero rating if that were allowed. There are several reasons why the LaHaye eye care center is getting such low ratings. For me, the reason for my negative review is that the owner, Dr. Leon LaHaye, (whom I understand also owns the building) REQUIRES the entire office staff to keep the TV's in the waiting areas tuned to OAN, regardless of whether patients/customers request a channel change while waiting. OAN is an extreme right wing channel that is known for spreading lies and mis-information. The fact that Dr. Lahaye forces his political views on others this way tells you who he is. I refuse to be subjected to this type of treatment. I am changing to a different eye care provider who has some degree of integrity and respect for others. BTW, I am Randall German, Sharon's husband. Sharon shares my opinion, and she also had other concerns with how she was treated at this facility. read more

The employees over there have disgusting attitudes. We weren't even greeted when we came in. All we got was a cold "You're late" Mind you, it was only by 10 minutes. They have an extremely uppity attitude as if they're the only option for eye care in the universe. I would give them negative stars if I could. They refused to let us in and then had the nerve to ask if we wanted to reschedule. When we first walked in the receptionist just looked at us terrible and when she opened her mouth I REALLY wish she hadn't. It was so bad. It is truly peas for brains over there. read more

I recently visited Lahaye vision care center in Lafayette LA. It was a horrible experience. I saw Dr Kim about a chelation stye. He was very unprofessional he lectured me about how much sun I was getting and diagnosed me with rosacea stating that my stye was caused by the sun and prescribed Doxycycline even though I never had soreness or signs of infection. I kept asking where on my face was the redness and bumps. He left the room and l was with his 2 assistant. In my conversation with them I advised I did not need more stress on me as I had been diagnosed with CANCER and was waiting on surgery. At that time his assistant said well at least you will get a free boob job. Being very offended I left room only to pay my bill and leave. The lady at the desk told me I owed $25.00 even though my ins card said my copays should be 20.00 I brought this up. I was told my card was old. So I paid 25.00.2 days later I received my new card which showed copays was 20.00. His diagnosis of rosacea upset me so much that I consulted with my skincare professional where they told me the diagnosis was incorrect. After seeing another optimoligist I was told to stop using creme and stop taking the prescription. I had been told the wrong by Dr Kim. read more

Office efficiency and customer service is SEVERELY lacking. I waited 35 minutes to pick up my glasses today - there was ONE other patient and THREE people working in the area. It took ten minutes for one of them to even say hello to me and ask if I had been helped. One woman sat at her desk talking to a patient who is a lawyer about her messy divorce. I will not be returning to this office because the support staff clearly does not care about its patients or their time. read more

My experience with the Opelousas office was exceptional !!! You know you are at the best place for quality care when the two receptionist in the front are able to address you by name. Although there was mounds of paperwork to be filled out but Carla and I think the red head is Dena were very helpful and their explanation of the paperwork was warranted why so much. Next off to the back to see Dr Smith. First , I was worked up by Bailey .... again she was a joy. She did all the pre testing before I actually saw the Dr. Another great staff member. Then I see the Dr and another girl Lauren. Very nice and Dr Smith was great and informative bc I learned I have what they call dry eye. I am explained into detail about my new diagnosis and they explain to me how to treat it. Finally my visit is coming to an end and I go to check out. There is a couple people in line in front of me so I was asked to be seated. In no time I was called up by Carla to be checked out as all 3 of the ladies were checking out patients. I have never experienced such GREAT PATIENT CARE and the STAFF was AWESOME. You place of business is only as good as your STAFF! Lahaye Total Eye Care gets 5 stars from me. read more
