When she suffered additional strokes and had to be on hospice, the caregivers and the entire wellness care staff upheld her wishes exactly as requested. My mom had been in several other care homes/situations, and I enjoyed coming to visit her at Belmont Village the most by far. The entire community from staff to other residents were super sweet and friendly, and the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. If you have to experience transitioning a loved one to assisted living or even memory care, this is definitely the place to be!

There are always exceptions, but the overwhelming majority of the staff here really have true passion for what they do. What was most important to us was there cognitive and behavioral programming for individuals who require memory care. Most of the facilities we looked at are beautiful and have great staff, but tend to just focus on keeping patients "safe" versus activities that make them use their remaining cognitive abilities. At Belmont they truly apply research combined with be very specific individual needs of each resident. Once an Alzheimer's patient becomes a "flight risk" many facilities just make sure that they are safe and secure and give a little thought to they are quality of life which results in a rapid decline. Over the past several months I noticed the change. All the main people were gone and replaced with people who are strictly business. The atmosphere drastically changed. Also, contacted the new main director David about 2 gold bracelets missing from my sister in laws arm and nothing was done, not even a phone call, even though I kept following up with my concern. The whole environment of this placed has changed. Only original people still there are front desk Robin, nurse Alex, Steve & Luis. Won't be surprised to see them gone soon as well. New owners should know how drastically this place has changed and NOT for the better.

The Orchards gives off a whole different and positive vibe from the start when you walk in the main entrance. Everything is clean, actually clean, even the patient bathrooms, closets, behind the doors, everywhere is clean. The ratio of staff to patients is SO MUCH better than other facilities my family member has been too. I believe there's maximum 50 patients. The bedrooms are next level. They have 4-5 options ranging from a shared room with two people, to completely private with your own bathroom and living room/lounge area, obviously at a higher price point. But even the shared bedrooms are awesome as they have a closet/cabinet that divides the room, not just a sheet. Makes it so much better to have that division. ***Most importantly the Rehab staff is AMAZING!!!*** The amount of effort and thought they put into the individuals rehabilitation program is far greater than any other facility we have been to. They aren't trying to milk the process and allow people to just sit doing non productive activities just so they can bill for it. They're constantly assessing and evolving the game plan as they go. 10/10 best team of therapists. hands down. bar none. The staff communicates extremely clearly and reach out if they have pertinent info in regards to my family members health, progress, and well being. Which is something I've never experienced, usually I have to track people down and it's like pulling teeth to get answers or info. The food is good, and comparably to other places it's the best menu I've seen. Don't get me wrong it's not gourmet living but they have solid options. When you see a plate of food, it actually looks a cooked meal, not school lunch slop. They also have off menu items like sandwiches and what not if your family member is a picky eater. If you got this far in my Mega novel of a review then you obviously are deep in the process and looking for answers.
