I was there at 8.30ish and compared to cafes in Stockholm (or other large Swedish cities) it was quite empty. Giving the impression that Germans seem less keen on having breakfasts out. The different breakfasts I chose were really lovely in their own way. No1 was coffee of choice, freshly squeezed orange juice and breadroll with hummus and marinated artichokes. Lots of flavours and very very filling so lunch wasn't really an option that day. The no2 breakfast on the menu was coffee of choice, fresh juice and fruit muesli with non-dairy milk products of choice. Nice and breakfasty as expected. Unfortunately the coffee was the only negative both days, most cafes that use soy milk in Germany do it very well, Huber doesn't quite master the art and the soy cappuccino resp latte had an unfortunate soy tang. (Different baristas.) I would have loved to try their lunch options too, but time didn't permit. Also beware that the kitchen is open in the middle of the cafe and the ventilation isn't very effective. Your clothes and hair will most likely smell of fried onion and cabbage when you leave the place after breakfast. Friendly staff. Cash only.

We got settled in by the window, so we could have a view overlooking the bridge/train station while eating our breakfast! The restaurant was packed for breakfast around 10am, but we were still served in a timely manner. I got a cappuccino (a bit pricey compared to Italy standards, at this German restaurant, it cost 3.20 euros vs. the 1.50 in Italy...) along with a generous stack of pancakes doused in maple syrup and topped with ALL the fruit (apples, pears, dates, dried oranges, almond slices...). There were also some random grapefruit slices that I kept off to the side. Even though it seemed like "a lot of sweet", I didn't leave a morsel behind. The pancakes were not too fluffy and not too dense...they even had some light crispiness to them that was a nice touch. Definitely recommend coming here for breakfast if you arrive in Freiburg in the morning at the train station!

The food was great and the hostess was very gracious. It was a bit loud but only because everyone was enjoying themselves.

Definitely something for everyone. (Check them out on Instagram, their locations are all super trendy and fun!) We stuck to baked goods & pastries (especially Black Forest Cake because we were essentially in the Black Forest, although here it's called Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte and Bavarian pretzels, because, well, when in Rome). We also had a sesame croissant, pretty pink donuts, and a crumble bar too. We were all supper satisfied! The cake was moist and filled with alcohol soaked cherries. The pretzel was perfectly salted and the croissant was glistening with butter, fluffy and flaky. We also grabbed some of their incredible breads and donuts for the road. They did not disappoint either. The espresso, which complimented the goods perfectly was strong and delish. The fresh apple tea iced was incredible and memorable!! I would love to know how to recreate it at home. It was so naturally sweet even unsweetened and felt like it should be served warm on a fall day, but was perfect and refreshing, served iced on a hot summer day. There's tons of towering Sammie's, parfaits, fruit cups and salads. Honestly, such a variety. I loved the jam and bread cutting station! The place was packed on a weekday for a morning rush, but the line moved swiftly and once we were seated outside we relaxed. Free lot parking. Cash only. Cannot recommend enough!
