This is a surprisingly large gun store near the outskirts of Lafayette. I have shopped there twice now, and both times I've been impressed with their selection. I think thousands of people drive by daily and don't realize how much this store has to offer beyond the guns and ammo business. When you walk in you immediately see just how big the place is. The outside is deceiving. Lots of clothes and not just hunting but sports and outdoors in general. The folks there are friendly and very helpful. read more

Do not go for anything archery related. They charge 215$ to get new bow string then 2 months later additional 25$ after to get it sized for you. I didn't know any better till I went to local bow shop and they explained that it wasn't even the right draw length for me. I'll give 1 star because they do have great selection of guns but that's where it ends. read more

I was trying to purchase a gift for my partner, and was told by one person over the phone that I could place an order online for him to pick up in person. I explained that I knew that since ammo has an age requirement, I wasn't sure if it would be possible to do long-distance, as I live in a different state. The person I spoke to assured me that since we were both over 21, it would be no issue for me to purchase online to have him come pick up. He then transferred me to the gun department who didn't pick up. I proceeded to shop for the ammo online, and when I found the one I wanted, called to confirm that it was the correct one and in stock. The gun department person did pick up about 5 minutes after the original phone call transfer failed, and confirmed the ammo I was looking for was indeed in stock, even though it shows out of stock online. I proceeded to try to pay for it over the phone, which he said is not possible, I would have to pay in person. I wasted my time, I'm frustrated by getting two different answers, I'm frustrated by the online inventory not reflecting the in-store inventory, and the overall rude tone and lack of customer service I received. I'm usually not the one to take time out of my busy schedule to leave a review, but for this place Ill make the exception. I've used them multiple times for transfers (only because of the convenience) and every time it's a worse experience. Employees have TERRIBLE people skills. The guys in the back all act like they could care less, know more than you and anyone else for that matter, and EVERY TIME they mess up something in the transfer which causes us to have to wait even longer. I'll pass this place with a smile from now on, even if I pay more and waste fuel. I do NOT recommend. Also, don't even THINK about going there for ammunition! Almost double the price of all the other big names places right up the road. Don't waste your time. read more

Very friendly service and large selection of guns. I was on my way to a guitar store and I passed by this place. The front of the store made it look very small, but when I walked inside it was pretty big and filled with hunting clothe, large selection of knives, and very large selection of rifles and pistols. Huge fan of Lafayette Shooters for anything shooting or hunting related. From hunting clothes, to hunting gear/accessories, to firearms, to a huge ammo selection. They have it all, a lot of it, and all quality. There is a whole section each dedicated to all Sitka, Drake, Banded, and Browning hunting apparel with huge selections in each of the sections/brands. The staff is super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, especially behind the gun counter. They have way more guns for sale than Cabelas/Bass Pro for handguns, shotguns, and rifles. And they even have a dedication section of the store to bow hunting, and a bow range. I am always a fan of supporting local businesses, especially those that are proven to do a fantastic job and have a great business that can compete with national stores. read more

I'm not a gun guy but... 1. This place has everything you need to go out mano-a-animal and do what you need to do! 2. Great boot selection--that's why we were here. 3. They carry a version of the weapon I use to defend myself against Alaskan bears while I am camping in Lake Clark Wilderness, Alaska, so while I don't know guns they pass that test. 4. I was very disappointed at the lack of masks. I came here with my grandfather and felt like they were not taking his safety (and the safety of any other customer) into account. I know this is a hard time for businesses but it isn't hard to wear a mask. read more

Huge selection of guns is somewhat right...and if I'm in the market to pay high retail for a firearm or knife, I'll know where to go. I'm all for buying local. In fact I prefer to do that instead of buying online.. But when you have a store that is charging nearly $75-$100 more on firearms..that's way too much. The knives are even worse. Same exact knife can be found through an online AUTHORIZED retailer for sometimes 60-75% cheaper. I understand they have to make a profit and pay staff but come on people these are convenience store prices. I am coming to the conclusion that If it weren't for their association with high interest gun financing, they'd have trouble staying afloat .I have since found several very good local gun dealers around the same area, that may not have as huge as a selection but the prices are well on point and they can order the gun of your choice within a day or so. read more

I've been to this store three times in the past year to buy an AR. The rifle I want to purchase with cash(not finance) is sitting on the shelf. I never get assistance. This time I brought my girlfriend along to see if it was just me. Today a salesman named Tyler looked in my face 3 times and never once thought to ask if I needed help. We were there for 25 minutes before my girlfriend became upset and said let's go. I WILL never shop there again. Idc if they have the only gun in the state that I want. Ok. I've been shopping here for about 5 yrs b/c they got what I need and good quality stuff and will continue to get items from there; but... I recently went to buy a browning sa 22 rifle. The only one they had was the display model. I didn't want one that has been handeled so I said " if u guys order me a new one I WILL walk out with it fully set up with scope and everything. Dude; I was goin to drop $1000 on a rifle set up. They said "NO". The only way they would do that is if I pay the 100$ shipping and xtra charges for a special order. R u kidding me!!! I got their distributed info and found out that it's free shipping on orders over $500. My gun was 600$ so shooters is full of crap. I will never buy a gun from these guys. I will look for the one I want there cause of the selection and buy it elseware. read more
