I happened upon a lost book recently and it got me thinking....How long has it been since I've read…read morea good book? Truth be told, it's been too long. I used to get lost in books but life happens and you know the rest. This library is fairly new, has ample sunlight and although it's not Lafayette's main branch I found several new authors thanks to the suggestions of the cleverly placed bookmarks. I was also surprised to learn that you can also now borrow a book to your Kindle or download an mp3 book! Yay for libraries!!! DVDs can be borrowed here as well but if you want a popular title you may have to place a hold, which is a breeze here thanks to online technology. If you love getting lost in a good book, go here.

The Breaux Bridge library offers amazing services to such a small town. Excellent selection of…read morefiction and non-fiction books, as well as audio novels, DVDs, and CDs. The staff is very helpful. Wi-Fi is a bit dodgy though.... the genealogy room is the one place it works best. All this being said, this place is about to get a face lift starting at the first of the year. Supposedly, the library is being upgraded as far as the building itself, but at the time of this review, I am not certain as to the extent of the upgrades. The current building, as it is, is fairly old. The one complaint I had about this place is that other than the book drop out front, there is actually no indication from the outside that this is the library. There is no sign or lettering, and were it not for the phone book listing, I might not have easily found this place. Besides this, a decent place for all your information and media needs. But in need of some structural upgrade and definitely needs to have a sign out front indicating that it is indeed the library.

The layout is so open yet the privacy options and reading/relaxing areas are wonderful. Adults and children alike could spend hours here and the computer stations were admirable. So proud of our new library!
